I’m so sad… really just completely devastated because I like (d) Sweet Earth. It’s a fun and imaginative frozen yogurt parlor that gives you a power rush while manning the fro-​yo dispensers. I actually used to consider it my happy place and it breaks my heart to have to write this review.
But when the entire selection of «fresh» fruit toppings is shamelessly covered in visible mold, the time comes to put your foot down as a consumer and demand respect (!) I’m not a picky eater but I do think fruit ceases to be «fresh» once pillows of rot practically obscure their overripe meat.
I’m very disappointed. To get over heartache like this I normally go to Sweet Earth…*bitter laugh* funny how deeply the ones you love can hurt you…

Lots of fun low-​fat and non-​fat choices for yogurts with lots of toppings to choose from. I knocked them down a star because the gentleman behind the counter didn’t bother to stand up once and rather sat in the corner.

This is my favorite place for FroYo! I have a ton of food allergies and sweet earth is one of the only places I can go! plus their vegan soft serve is the best I’ve ever had! Yes it is a little more expensive then your everyday place but it’s worth it to me to actually be able to enjoy FroYo

My favorite froyo ever! No other place compares. However, their hours posted on the website and Google are not accurate so beware. Was bummed to go get froyo at 9pm because I read on the website they closed at 10, only for the closed sign to be flipped. Luckily the girl working let us in (we got there at 9pm exactly) but our options were limited. If you’re planning to go for a late night froyo run, just call and make sure they will be open as late as their website states!

Great taste. But here’s the problem. Products are manufactured in facility in which they have have come into contact with nut products. For those nut-​allergic among us, like me, this is unacceptable. Unfortunately I can no longer be a customer. Sorry Royal Oak store!

I was really excited, like really excited about their soft serve vegan ice cream.
Everything about it was great except the ice cream!
Love the options, the toppings, how quick it was, the flavor choices but the ice cream was really lackluster, really mild tasting.
I’m hoping it was a fluke, I’ll try it again.

Yummy! .49 cents a pound. Meter parking in front and behind, friendly staff, clean, dog treats, patio, and variety of yogurt including dairy free.

I used to really like this place, and we’ve come here regularly since it opened. The service has gotten awful though. The people working are always gossiping or on their phones, and act annoyed if you ask for anything. I asked for tap water for my dog (since they have a dog bowl outside) and they said they weren’t allowed to fill it and I’d have to buy bottled water. Wtf? They even have plastic cups out for water, and refused to give me water to drink– so why do they have the cups in the first place? The girl working said I could fill it up in the bathroom. Thanks? Never coming here again. Save your money and go down the street to Yogurtland.

They have non dairy ice cream!!! I can eat ice cream again and therefore I am in love with this place! No, the non dairy is not the same a regular ice cream but if you have not been able to eat ice cream for years then it will totally hit the spot. I am told the regular flavors are also great but I wouldn’t know :(
They have non dairy vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and a lemon meringue which I tried but didn’t enjoy. The toppings are fresh and filled up regularly.
The only down side is that it’s easy to put too much in your bowl and then you end up paying almost $ 7-​$ 10 for two bowls. Again, totally worth it me and I don’t go often.

Oh my GOSH, I love this place. My only complaint is that the don’t open early enough. Last week I stopped in for my birthday and got the vegan coconut cream pie mixed with vegan vanilla. There are pretty much no other places I can get vegan ice cream /​frozen yogurt… but this place is seriously so amazing! I seem to come in when no one is there which is perfect when I go in with my son. He loves it so much he squeals which might not make other people as happy as it makes me hahaha: D

Frozen yogurt is it’s own food group, right?! I could easily stop here every day.
The flavor and topping selections here are fantastic and don’t disappoint. There is something for every craving — fruity or sweet.
my only caution is be careful how much you put in the cup, the price will catch up!
Overall, don’t think about going, just go!!!

Don’t get me wrong, I like the place. But for the price… Eh. It is a good way to keep a group satisfied with variety, and the price makes me eat less!

Disclaimer: I have never been to the Birmingham location so I cannot compare.
However if it is anything like the Royal Oak location, I will not be trying it anytime soon. I was extremely disappointed with Sweet Earth. I tried it out with a friend on a weekday evening. It wasn’t busy at all, we were the only ones there.
I love frozen yogurt and consider myself to be quite a conossier. I never turn down the chance to try somewhere new.
The prices weren’t outrageous but they weren’t a bargain.
The flavors were typical nothing exciting and tasted slightly of chemicals. I always try the chocolate at every froyo stop since it’s my favorite and this was subpar.
The topping choices were varied but don’t go at the end of the night because it gets picked over.
The customer service was lacking as there was three younger girls more interested in their conversation than assisting their customers.
I’d skip this place.

We were very excited to go to sweet earth because my son is allergic to dairy and they had 4 dairy free/​vegan choices. He got all 4 and was happily eating it when he came over itching his tongue saying that there was DAIRY in it! THANK GOD HE DID not go into anaphylactic shock. He could taste the dairy pretty much right away. The guy working there let him get something else which my son chose fruit happily to be safe. MAKE SURE IT IS VEGAN BEFORE YOU EAT IT!!!

Came here for the vegan ice cream and was pleasantly surprised. Not impressed by there selection of non dairy options (they only had vanilla and chocolate). They had lots of options for toppings though which was nice. Was a bit pricey but the amount of ice cream you get does fill you up.

However this location is the complete opposite! I found a hair in my ice cream and the staff was completely indifferent about it. The manager offered me more ice cream at a discount.
So disappointed!!!

When Sweet Earth opened in Royal Oak I was so excited. YAY! A frozen yogurt place I can walk to. Sadly. it just does not live up to my high yogurt standards. Sad times.
First of all I just do not like their yogurt. It seems to have an overall chemically taste to it and usually leaves a not so great aftertaste.
Second…their topping bar is just not great. Its pretty lacking and there is definitely some canned fruit in there. yuck.
I WISH I could give Sweet Earth my money but I just feel like the product is not worth my money or calories.

My love for Sweet Earth started in Birmingham and when the Royal Oak location opened I was thrilled. Both places were my favorite, but lately they really have lost it by cutting corners. They’re even trying to charge you .99 cents for toppings that are normally found at other Froyo places, like the brownie and cheese cake cubes. The new plain white cups are cheesy and it dilutes their brand recognition and a sign that they’re being too cheap to put their logo on the cups.

Now that they’re so many Froyos popping up all throughout Metro Detroit I’ve noticed that their toppings are nothing to scream about when compared to other Fro Yos in the area.

The fresh fruit section really needs to be beefed up and those nasty maraschino cherries, canned pineapple really have to go. Get it together and step up your game Sweet Earth because there’s new Fro Yo coming to Main Street and they might put you out.
Even though I’ve been the Duke of this place, I don’t plan on ever going back because Bloomberry’s topping and flavors have you beat.

What type of frozen yogurt flavor combination are you looking for? Chances are Sweet Earth can satisfy it.
A variety of rotating flavors coupled with an extensive toppings bar (dry toppings, candy, fruit, cone pieces, chocolate/​caramel/​peanut butter syrup — just to list a few).
I’m kind of on a mission to try them all but greek tart is my go to when I just want some straight up froyo + fruit.
Wish I could come here every day, it’s the best!
