Sunrise Taekwondo

I’ve been going to the kickboxing classes since January after a friend recommended them and I love it! I’ve never been able to stick with a workout routine past a few weeks, but everything about this place keeps me coming back. The facility is clean and comfortable. It’s a full body workout that really builds strength and improves cardio and respiratory health. The instructors are excellent and very easy to work with. I particularly like their ability to work with both new and more advanced members simultaneously, providing basic routines for new members while giving more challenging routines to more advanced members. I also like not feeling pressured by a pushy fitness instructor. If I have a day when I’m tired or not feeling a 100% and need to take it a bit easier, they don’t harass me to do more than I can handle.
I absolutely love this place and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a full workout that they can really stick to!

Since my daughter started at Sunrise Taekwondo, she has learned so much… It’s been less than a year and the skill set and self confidence she NOW has is AMAZING!!!
I’m so proud of her commitment and effort, and I must say, I attribute Master Smith to it all! He is an excellent teacher, completely dedicated to his students. He is very down to earth and honest with the kids, yet is authoritative and professional. His staff is just as committed to the students as well. He leads by example and has already instilled some excellent lessons within Christina!
We love going there 3 – 4 times a week when we can and I just love seeing Christina EVOLVE!

My friend and I bought the groupon deal for Sunrise Kickboxing classes. We went for the first time tonight. It was a really awesome workout! It was so much better than going to the gym and doing a boring treadmill routine. Sue was so helpful to us since it was our first time and Chris was very helpful and informative. We are so excited to go back for the Friday class! I definitely recommend Sunrise for a fun workout!

My 4 and a half year old twins started a year ago July in the Little Ninjas Program, so they were 3 and a half. Very nice program, learned how to count to 10 in Korean fast the way the program was set up at the time. They would do catching, punches, kicks, bear crawls, hopping, and more… perfect for the 3 – 4 year olds. Now working on big kid stuff to transition. Took to Master Chris immediately, my daughter wants to teach taekwando when she is older! My son the past few months has really improved his confidence levels, and will show anyone who visits all his «moves» and he does them so well… they both are excited to be moved up this fall.
Kickboxing: I started this March, the instructors (who also now teach the little ninjas Sue and Desiree) are awesome! Both have different techniques so it mixes it up for me. They cater to your levels, as I really want to step it up, they add in moves for me, or will take it slow if you need. Between the 2 activities I am at sunrise anywhere between 7 – 12 times a week!

I have been participating in the kickboxing classes for a month now, i am content with the staff, service, and progress that i am making physically. I bought the groupon special for three months and i am seriously considering continuing with them after the offer expires since i am making more progress than i had in other gyms. Awesome work out :)

Bought a Groupon for this place a couple of months ago. Excellent Groupon Deal.. For this review, I am speaking only about the fitness kickboxing and not the Karate classes (Taekwondo)
Pros:
1. Extremely well organized! The best feature of this place is that everything runs on precision timing. The class is itself is divided into 3 minute boxing rounds with smooth transitions. They start on time and you know exactly what you have to do.
2. It’s a good workout. You leave feeling tired but not exhausted.
3. Easy going attitude. All instructors are low key and not pushy. It’s fun but serious. No attitudes or Jersey shore types.
Cons:
1. Parking! It can be a real pain in the ass to park sometimes.
2. While Mr. Smith who runs the place is very nice and easy going at times, he sometimes can get very agitated and ticked off really easily. It can make things tense and uncomfortable. To be fair he has NEVER gotten that away in front of kids (He teaches kids karate and is good with the kids) but he definitely gets annoyed about stuff and it shows.
Overall, this is an excellent facility. It’s relatively cheap compared to other places and its worth joining

Let me begin by saying I had received a great deal here and great experience. I purchased a Groupon for 20 $ and it includes a month full of unlimited classes and the boxing gloves. It is impossible to match this deal anywhere.
Since day one the instructors have been friendly and very professional. They were very attentive to all customers and did a great job of teaching basic techniques. The classes are pretty organized and pretty simple to follow.
If you are interested in shedding some weight and learning some kickboxing techniques than this is your place.

I bought a great groupon deal for kick boxing here at Sunrise TKD, and it’s been a wonderful experience! One heck of a workout I might add! First off I’ve never seen a price that can beat that deal, not to mention if I decided to continue after the month period it’s still very affordable. On my first day the staff was very helpful and attentive throughout each different combo or drill we were doing. just to make sure we were caught up with everyone else. They give you your own gloves, and in different color choices not to mention. I love that the group is much smaller so I feel that it’s more space and more interactive. And it’s great to see familiar faces every time I go to class. Also the instructor is very clear with her words and demonstration on every part. And if you can’t see don’t worry she’s always walking around to assist. Plus if you have a request she includes it into the class.
If you see this deal do not pass it up! You won’t be disappointed!

My little nephew is taking classes for kickboxing and I’m truly impressed with how much he is learning. After two months of taking lessons, he is more confident with himself overall and is having lot of fun. I went to several classes with him and the instructor was attentive and highly experienced with training. Overall, I’m really glad to see that my nephew has a new competitive edge and that he enjoys the program.

I’ve been taking a ILoveKickboxing fitness class at this studio for the last few weeks and love it. Master Smith is really laid back and funny and makes the hour classes go by quickly. It’s challenging, but not so hard it’s impossible (I’m out of shape and I can do it!). Plenty of street parking in the evenings. We did the special online where you can get free gloves. If you are looking for a fun place to work out and not be made to feel like a loser by a bunch of juice heads, this is the place. Also, ask Master Smith to play the drums for you!
