Tahoe Jeep Rentals

Never heard back after I submitted an email request. Called only to find out they are out of business. Wish they would have posted something on their website to the fact.

Just called to book a jeep and they are out of business. That’s unfortunate.

This was absolutely awesome! My wife and I found out about this place at random and when I heard off roading in a Jeep I was sold. I called out of the blue, although in the busy season a reservation is recommended, but since we were in Lake Tahoe in November, it was fine. Robert and his wife delivered the shiny 2013 grey Jeep Wrangler Unlimited to us at Camp Richardson, where we were staying (also a fantastic place). After going over the vehicle, a quick 4×4 lesson, some trail recommendations, paperwork, and vehicle check we were on the road. The whole meeting was less than 15 minutes and the full day package is definitely the best deal if you’re only wanting it for a day. We set off and got acclimated to the vehicle. If you’ve never driven a Jeep before be prepared to deal with a very wide turning radius and the significant height if you’re used to small Hondas like I am. We first headed for Genoa Peak Trail, which is kinda tricky to find. Its across the Nevada border, off 207 (Kingsbury Grade), at the very end of North Benjamin Road and as soon as you hit the dirt stop, drop it into 4×4, and start up the trail. The views are spectacular and in my opinion there is no other experience like off roading. I had been wanting to try it for a long time and this was the perfect opportunity. We spent about 2 hours on the trail. We did get lost for a hot minute, but luckily I brought my GPS and most GPS’s have trail maps, so if you have one bring it with you because there is absolutely zero cell reception for most of the trails for most carriers. After we left the trail at the other end up near the Forestry Station on US 50, we headed for the second spot that Robert recommended to us, Red Lake and Blue Lake. That took some finding as the details online are very vague. I could have called Robert and he would have helped me out no problem but I’m stubborn and wanted to find it myself. Basically if you drive south out of South Lake Tahoe on US 50, turn left onto CA-​89, take that until it dead ends into CA-​88/​89 and turn right. Drive about ten miles until the road takes a wide right bend and then Red Lake will appear on the left hand side. Keep on the small, service-​looking road to the left of the lake and follow that back, keep left until you get to the trail and then it starts. Genoa Peak Trail and Blue Lake Trail are different. Genoa Peak is narrower and generally steeper, while Blue Lake Trail is wider, rockier, and colder in general. Both trails offer indescribable views of sweeping Sierra Nevada valleys and peaks, while also offering some of the most fun driving I have ever experienced. We did both trails in one day, and we could have gone further on the trails around Blue Lake had we had more time, but I do not regret a thing about our excursion. It was delightful, exciting, a bit jarring but in a exhilarating way, and we brought back pictures you can only find on postcards and billboards. I can’t wait for an excuse to go back and do it again, and I’m trying to convince my wife to let me get a jeep because I can stop saying, «Let’s do it again!»

I rented a wrangler unlimited from Tahoe Jeeps today and it was a great experience! The husband and wife local owners are very friendly and accommodating.
The jeep was a late model and was mechanically sound. I took it on some moderate trails and it didn’t even flinch at them.
Pick up and drop off were a breeze and I was given an orientation for the jeep and they provided plenty of great places to take it. If I don’t buy a jeep before I come back up to Tahoe I sure will rent from them again.
I would highly recommend Tahoe Jeeps based on my experience.

WOW! What a great time we had touring the Lake Tahoe area by Jeep Wrangler. That’s right the other day (9−29−14) my wife and rented a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited from Tahoe Jeep Rental, located near South Lake Tahoe. The first thing I have to say is that the Husband and Wife team that operate Tahoe Jeep Rental are the nicest and most accommodating people I have ever met. The Jeep we rented was the Wrangler Unlimited model, is was in excellent condition and ready for the recommended jeep trails we visited. One of the trails was a wonderful route for the entry level off roader while one of the others was a little more advanced. The roads were beautiful and to say scenic would be an understatement. I search for a jeep rental opportunity all over the Central California and Tahoe Jeep Rental offered the best equipment as well as the best price. The quality and condition of the Jeeps Wranglers was outstanding. I highly recommend Tahoe Jeep Rental to anyone who is interested in this type of experience! The chance to experience the Tahoe area with you friends or family in an open air Wrangler Unlimited is not to be missed

So glad we found them and rented the Jeep for a day. These are super nice people who have a reasonable rate and really want you to enjoy your time off the beaten path. Good, clean, newer Unlimited that took us everywhere we wanted to go. We will rent from them again next summer.

I had a great time renting a Jeep this winter from Tahoe Jeep Rentals in South Lake Tahoe. Amazing service from the owners and the jeep itself was in like-​new condition. I’m not sure if it was because I was close-​by or not, but the jeep was even delivered! It was perfect for driving in the snow with its tires and it was also helpful to have the snowboard/​ski rack on the back. I can’t wait to visit Tahoe again in the summer and get a chance to drive the off-​road trails when they open.

Tahoe Jeep Rentals has a fleet of really nice Wranglers that are perfect for the adventurous! The 4dr Wrangler was brand new, clean, and drove great! The staff are very friendly, very knowledgable, and truly want your experience to be special!
There is nothing like exploring the outdoors from a Jeep!

We came up to Tahoe to experience the outdoors. There surely is not a better way to do this than by touring the lake in a Jeep with the top down. We had an incredible time. The Jeep was very clean and brand new. We rented the Jeep for a couple of days and found endless adventure at every turn. Lake Tahoe is meant to be experienced with the fresh clean air in your face. My favorite time in the Jeep was an unexpected gem. Driving around at night with the top down while viewing the starts was incredible. We found a little overlook, parked and watched the stars for hours while watching shooting stars tear across the sky over the lake. If you rent a Jeep, make sure to get it for at least two days and check out the scenery at night! This was an absolute blast and I would strongly recommend Tahoe Jeep Rentals whenever you visit South Lake Tahoe. We will definitely be back and we will be planning on renting a Jeep here each time we do! Well worth it! The kids loved cruising with the top down while exploring for remote beaches on the lake.

We booked this rental the day of and knew we were going to have a great experience when we were confirmed with a Jeep Wrangler within minutes. We were guests a the Marriott Grand Residence, so location-​wise, totally convenient. Service was A+ all the way; accommodating and informative.
My friends and I drove the Genoa Trails off the 207 (Kingsbury Grade); not a difficult terrain, easy in fact. Jeep handled perfectly and was extremely reliable and comfortable. We had such a great time with such great service we felt compelled to bring it back as clean as we could, ha.
Made this experience a memorable one and we will definitely do this again next time we’re in town.
