It has been an absolutely pleasure dealing with Mike at Appearance Solutions. I contacted him for a price quote for some services (xpel ultimate and opticoat) I was interested in for a car I had on order. His price was very reasonable so I kept him in mind while I was shopping around but what made me ultimately decide to go with him were a few factors: amazing reviews, very easy to correspond with, and (last but definitely not least) he accepts credit card!
I’m very thankful Mike followed up with me a more than once after we spoke because I was in the middle of replacing my broken phone and missed several messages that inevitably lost to the abyss. I had a less than stellar interaction with my car salesman so I was never able to provide Mike with a delivery date for my car. Despite this, he was quick to respond when I had an inquiry and he was beyond helpful working with me to receive my car.
I was able to take my car straight to his shop from the dealership as he had an associate there to receive my car. That evening Mike texted to say he got my car in safe for the night and would keep me posted. Over the following week and a half, he continually sent me picture updates on the progress to my vehicle, which as you can imagine is a Godsend when you’re anxiously awaiting your new car!
When I arrived to pick up my car, I finally met Mike. He went over my car with me, it’s xpel, opticoat, and window tint. He’s been in the business for some time now and you can tell he’s got an eye for detail and takes a lot of pride in his work. My vehicles salesman left me feeling ignored and unimportant, so it was very refreshing to do business with Mike. He is incredibly professional and makes you feel like a priority (despite my car being a Mazda and not an ultra high end car which I’m positive he’s accustomed to working with), to which I am eternally grateful.

I’m not sure what type of sealant they use but it’s top notch! Took my car in for a simple detail about 9 months ago. Had some minor dealer installed swirl marks that I wanted removed. My car looked better than when I bought it! Amazing job. My car still looks amazing (although I do baby it… i.e. no automatic car washes) after 9 months and it’s still beading water. Awesome job!

I did a lot of research regarding Xpel and installers in the area. The only one that stood out for quality and customer service was Appearance Solutions.
Mike handled everything professionally and with the confidence that makes the customer know that it will be the best job that can be done from someone that is more of an artist than an installer.

I had my Aston Martin V8 Vantage wrapped with clear film a month ago, and couldn’t be happier. After some trepidation — in 6 years no one touched my car but me or the dealer — I had Mike and his guys do a full wrap, replacing the old original half wrap I had removed last year. The job quality was excellent, including the pre-​buff, precise film cut and detail touches, at a competitive price. The car finish is beautiful, and no one knows it is wrapped but me — nearly impossible to tell (unless you are a car guy and know where to look).
If you have a cherished beauty of a car, don’t hesitate to have it film protection wrapped or detailed at Appearance Solutions.

Mike and his staff did an awesome job on my truck. I had the opti-​coat treatment placed on my brand new GMC Sierra pickup. It is huge and the color is black. This is not a normal job and Mike’s company did a spectacular job. I am very happy with their service and would recommend them to anyone.

Mike is a total class act. Brought my new m3 in for the full xpel and opticoat treatment. He delivered in stunning fashion. Don’t trust your vehicle to anyone else. I’m so pleased he’s currently working on my wife’s MDX as well.
update 11/​2, MDX is looking like new again. The interior has always been a pain to keep clean with kids, and not to mention the stone white leather constantly picks up transfer from jeans etc. I can honestly say after Mike got done with the car the interior is like new. We also opted to opticoat the exterior, which, for some, might seem excessive for a 4 year old car, however cleaning is now a breeze. I spent no more than 20 minutes total on both cars this weekend with a couple of microfiber cloths and some chemical guys no rinse and both cars are spotless looking showroom new. That alone is worth the investment. I wil no longer be spending 2 hours every other weekend washing and detailing the cars.

Mike is the cream of the crop when it comes to detailing. Recently got a brand new black Audi, picked it up towards the end of a long day so I didn’t see, but the dealer paint prep was just unacceptable.
I have some basic knowledge with auto detailing. After weighing my options I fig instead of bringing it back to the dealership and probably get a half ass job done, I’d bring it to Mike and have it done right.
Had Mike so a full paint correction and apply opti coat pro. Car came out perfect, not a single swirl on black paint by job.
Simply put Mike is a true master craftsman, it’s no wonder he does some of the best and most exclusive cars in the area.
Lastly, for those wondering, the price was very reasonable and I have no complaints about customer service.
Give this business a try if you absolutely must have the best.

Took my car in for a basic wash. As good as everyone has written. If you want a wash, wax, or detailing whatever, done right, these would be your guys.

Spoke to Michael and wanted to clarify a few things:
My Porsche was being lowered by a shop when Micheal picked it up. I did not get to see the car after it was lowered and it mayyyy have been damaged at the shop that was lowering it. Again, I highly doubt that occurred but I also do not believe Michael intentionally damaged my vehicle or tried to hide it after the fact. My gut does tell me he wasn’t aware of the damage on the vehicle and after speaking to Mike I do believe some of his practices have changed such as inspecting vehicles before working on them. Since this issue has occurred I have always inspected my vehicles when dropping them off and will give AS another try in the future.

My wife and I took our new car to Mike from the recommendation of a neighbor. Needless to say, we were not disappointed. Mike installed Xpel Ultimate, Opti-​Coat and ceramic tint which made the vehicle look even better then when we drove it off the dealership lot. Throughout the entire process, Mike kept us up-​to-​date on the status and provided us superior customer service. I would highly recommend Mike and his staff. They have earned our business for life!

Mike put Opti-​coat on my car 6 months ago and all has been great. Unfortunately, my boyfriend decided not to listen to me when I told him to roll up the window before driving into a gated driveway where my dog waited for us. Sure enough as soon as the gate opened my 90 pound dog jumped up on the side of the car to greet us. Not a pretty sight… my beautiful shiny black paint that Mike had perfected was all scratched up. Anyway, after a mini freak out panic attack I remembered Appearance solutions and sure enough Mike was able to save the day… again. Within 10 minutes of texting him my problem (I cannot emphasize enough how much I appreciate business owners that are quick to respond and TEXT-​Life saving, makes everything so easy) he organized a time for me to swing by and meet him (ON A SUNDAY) and show him the damage. After looking at it he then organized for me to come by the shop the next day to fix it. I dropped off my car and he drove me back to my office (huge plus) and when I came back at the end of the day you couldn’t even tell it had been damaged, good as new. I went to pay him before taking my car home and he told me not to worry about it, on the house. Pretty awesome if you ask me… Also, for all you single Unilocalers, he is not awful to look at either: P

This place is small, but has awesome customer service and work. They reupholstered the driver seat on my husband’s car. The leather color matches exactly, but is softer so the seat squishes down when you sit on it… That is the only difference.

I brought my C350 Coupe in to get the windows tinted, full hood/​fender clear bra package and Opti-​Coat all around the car. I am overall happy with the results I got. My car looks nice and I got compliments on the work that was done on my car. Mike seem passionate at what he does and the BIG plus is that he truly cares about customer. Mike helped ensure that I was all squared with getting a car rental while my car was at his shop for 3 days and he even called around to help me get the best car rental rate but I’ve already got a car booked. I’m looking forward to bringing my car back in for a follow up first wash by Mike and his crew. It’s rare for shops that provide these services does a follow up appointment and car wash (but Appearance Solution does). I dock one star because I originally offered to provide factory touch up paint to touch some minor chip on my hood prior putting the film on but that idea was not accepted. Now the film is on and those small chips are visible. So I’m a little bummed. However, I would still recommend giving Appearance Solution a try over other shops in the Sacramento area.
⁰⁶⁄₃₀ Update: Received a call from Mike about the issue I mentioned about touching up the chips on my hood. Mike wanted me to be fully happy and satisfied with my whole experience so he offered to peel off the hood film and let me touch up the chips and then he’ll put back the film. Although, I didn’t take on the offer because the chips are very minor, it’s a testament of how much Mike strive to keep his customer happy. I’m very impressed at how much Mike cares and all the follow up he’s been keeping up with me to ensure I’m fully happy. I’m never dealt with anybody that does this kind of follow up. He educated me about how touching up small chips can actually take away the look of the car if it’s too small and if it’s not done right. It definitely make sense with his explanation. I brought in my car today for a follow up wash and Mike even re-​film one of the front headlights for me because of a minor flaw. I’m a very detailed person and Mike seem to be on the same level (if not more). Big thanks to Mike and his guys for making things right for me. I’m coming back in the future for detailing needs for sure!

Just got my car back from getting Opticoat, XPEL Ultimate, and ceramic window tint around on my 2015 X5. I decided that it was better to invest in protection now while the car is new, to protect from rock chips. I was fortunate to find Mike, and heard of him through a friend of mine who used his services to wrap his Tesla. Although some might call it overkill, I am very happy with how it turned out. You can’t see the XPEL, and it’s wrapped around the edges of the panel to hide the edge. Be careful of where you get your car wrapped — some places will use a template and stick it on the panel, but you can see the edges and it turns out ugly. Other places also use lower quality film that yellows. I would also advise against purchasing this through a dealer, as they don’t use the good stuff, and typically don’t wrap the edge. Mike takes each job as a custom job and wraps all the edges to the point where you can’t even tell it’s wrapped.
Customer service is also top notch. Mike is obsessed with keeping his clients happy, and I can personally attest to that. We had some issues with the tint initially, and it was Mike that pointed it out and not me. He wanted to make it perfect and that’s what he delivered.

Mike went above and beyond the call of duty in cleaning my car. His customer service skills are superior and his employees seem happy and thorough in their work. I would recommend them for any auto detailing or cleaning.

I’ve gone through several different cars and I wouldn’t trust my cars with anyone but Mike and his crew at Appearance Solutions. They take super good care of me and always send me pics throughout to show the progress. I will always use Mike to put a clear bra, tint and opti coat my cars. I couldn’t be happier!

This is, hands down, the best place in Sacramento to have your car detailed and protected with Xpel Ultimate Clearbra and/​or Opti-​Coat. I researched the whole area for someone to do all the above for my black Tesla P85D and am so glad I picked Appearance Solutions. Besides their great attention to detail, their communication and customer service are top notch. These guys stand behind what they do and you can definitely see and feel the effort they put into every thing they do. Detail and protect your car here! Black is the toughest color to deal with but Mike and the crew still exceeded my expectations.

Mike, that’s my boy!!! I have a 2012 honda fit that I bought from a dealer a few months back. I inspected the car throughly and the car was in good condition… so I thought! After a few days, the car’s air freshener dissipated and I could smell a strong cigarette smoke odor.
After months of trying to get the smell out, I finally succumbed to the reality that I need a professional’s help. I called about 7 «car detailers» and five of them were hesitant to work on my car. The 6^th detailer quoted me a fair price but couldn’t guarantee that the smell would go away. Then I called ol’ mike, and while the price he quoted me was a little high, he was the only person to guarantee that he would rid the smell. And if it came back later on, I can bring it back to him free of charge.
When I got my car back, the smell is totally gone. (For now) What separates good ol’ Mike from other detailers ive dealt with in the past are two things:
1) Upon receiving my car, Mike deemed that the smell wasn’t as bad as he originally thought and he reduced the price from what he originally quoted me. He saved me a couple of hundred dollars.
2) Since I had to drop off my car to Mike, I had to rely on public transportation to get around. When my car was ready, Mike called me. I couldn’t pick up my car that day but I was going to pick it up the next day. Mike agreed and he just wanted me to give him a courtesy call when I get close. When I did give him that courtesy call, he offered to pick me up at a local college. I was about 20 minutes away from him. I reluctantly agreed to have him pick me up since I felt like a huge inconvenience for him. But luckily I took him on his offer since the bus I was suppose to take broke down and was running late and IT WAS COLD and miserable outside. I owe him big time. (I’m usually not a Unilocaled but this is my way to repay him)
When it’s summer time, I’m going to go back so I can get my car waxed.

We researched detailers for our new car prior to delivery so that we could line up getting it protected with Opti-​coat and Xpel on the impact areas and keep it looking awesome for a very long time. I didn’t want our new car ruined by a wanna be detailer who would add halos, buffer burns, swirlies or scratches to it.
We selected Appearance Solutions off Power Inn Rd in Sacramento after researching and calling several detailers in the area.
When we dropped the car off, a customer was picking up his 1+ yr old red Tesla Model S that looked like new while another red Model S was being detailed along with a nice BMW, 2014 Vette, 911 Porsche and a Mini. Mike detailed the exterior of our car then applied Opticoat and Xpel was added to the impact areas (full hood, nose and front end, fenders, mirrors, rear rocker/​fender lip and rear bumper). Then half way through the project, we asked Mike to also tint the windows (35% rear hatch, 50% side windows). The finished product was amazing and we highly recommend Appearance Solutions for anyone near Sac.
Mike is great, pays attention to detail (should be a requirement for Detailers, right), follows up with customers on the progress and his prices are competitive. You certainly get more than you pay for. We will be taking our boat and another car to Appearance Solutions shortly.
