Citibank

The worst banking experience, I am a CitiBank credit card holder, came into this branch and this short little fucker is saying if I don’t have a checking account I cannot change your 20’s into hundreds. I was just yesterday at 3 other branches and changes 5 thousands of 20 into hundreds without any problem at all, those other branches greeted me with a smile and accommodated me swiftly. But this branch is garbage and has morons working here that do not want to help the hard working customer who has a credit card account with Citi. Bad bad bad bad bad

Worst customer service I have ever had… Not only was the lady rude and clueless but discriminating… It’s hard to believe that in this day in age people in reputable businesses that act this way still hold these positions. This review is based on the lady on the floor not the folks behind the glass.
All I wanted to do was add my wife to my existing account. This should have been a simple process but the lady on the floor seemed more interested on where we where from? Our nationality? What we did for a living? than helping us… At one point she asked for a marriage certificate to prove my wife was my wife! WTF! You know because the documents from the IRS where not sufficient… LOL She also asked us why we decided to visit this particular branch and not one closer to our house… What…Are we only supposed to visit a branch near our house. We happened to be in the area at this particular time. Out of respect to my wife I did not go full South Philly on this lady but I wish I did. We plan on closing the account and going with Chase.

I always like going here, the employees are always very friendly and the service is great;they have you in and out faster than any other bank I’ve ever had to deal with. No the parking it isn’t the greatest situation, but it’s the employees kindness, & the fast In & out service makes it worth it

It’s a bank! What more do you want? Pay your bill or take money out you not sleeping here so what are you crying about? The only thing I don’t like, is that they always try & get me to open up a bank account. I have a credit card with citi that’s good enough.

I have been going to this Citibank for the past 10 years and have seen the many changes in staff coupled with the roller coaster of the economy but have always received great customer service…
Pros: Clean, friendly staff and short wait times.
Cons: The parking is horrible but because of the small amount of folks using the branch I can always park in the very tiny lot. May not hurt to add coffee and suckers like the Chase Branch down the street.
Will go back…

Parking space small and in an area where I don’t live.

I’ve been a Citibank customer for over 12 years. I started my account in the Bay Area and even stayed with them when I lived in Sacramento, even though after a while I felt as though I was doing them a favor by keeping my account. I was forced to drive out of my way to make deposits, withdraw $, or do any basic banking.
They routinely update their online banking with some security upgrades and you are forced to enter your account number and such (locking me out of my own account since I only review my statements online and they won’t give you your account info over the phone & getting to the bank during daytime is a hassle). After the last time I was able to verify myself I thought that would be the last hassle, after this last time I was fed up and done with being inconvenienced. All I wanted to do was send a payment online, isn’t that what I’m paying for?
Adding injury to insult, my bank fees have gone up from $ 8 to $ 14 a month.
When I came in to ask the teller to close my account, she didn’t say anything, she just cashed out my account and let me go on my way. No «Thank you for banking with Citibank,» no «What other options can we offer you, we value you as a customer and see that you’ve been a loyal customer for quite some time,» not even a feeble attempt at exchanging pleasantries, just a blank stare.
Thank you Citibank for the great «customer service.»
PS– Your bumper car parking lot sucks.

Six + months since I have written a review, I came back just because of this place. Can you think of the most horrible, degrading word you can use to describe a female? Rymes with runt, bunt, ect. Yep, that is who I got here today.
I have a total loss check from Farmers drawn off this bank, I came in to cash it. I have cashed similar sized checks at Wells Fargo, Chase, and Bank of America (around 5K). They typically call to verify it, charge a small fee (6ish dollars), and try to pimp you to become a customer. The staff at Wells Fargo were so friendly I actually did, but thats another review.
The female teller here was somewhat nice but useless, had to ask her manager about every little thing. Then came the manager. Older lady, probably late 50’s, white, wrinkled skin, brown pant suit, whitish blond hair. She was a BITCH. The entire time we were there she had a scowl on her face, was rude, and knows nothing of customer service. It is very easy to tell someone no without being a bitch. Say something like «I am sorry sir, we cannot cash a check this size for a non customer, if you would like to open an account we would be happy to do so». That is how a pro deals with it, try to pimp a customer. Not this bitch, she was a fucking cunt the entire time. Oops, I let it slip. She mumbled to her employee excpecting us to hear it, would not even look us in the eye, well, the only time she did is when I was leaving. I said to the teller «Your manager is a real joy, she must be great to work with». She turned and shot me a look then.
What is this, white on white racism? I am wearing shorts and sneakers, so I am not even worthy of your gaze?
FUCK YOU citibank. I went to another branch, opened an account, cashed part of the check, and will probably be closing it as soon as I can.

It’s the only Citibank downtown so therefore it’s my main banking destination as a dweller of Midtown/​Downtown. I enjoy a short bikeride to the bank whenever i need, and conveniently take care of most of my banking right at the ATM and don’t even need to go inside the branch. Granted the branch does close rather early for my taste (5pm i believe), but all basic deposits can be done at the ATM so i’m covered. The parking lot is rather small but I bike mostly so that isn’t too much of an issue after hours especially. The employees have always been really helpful and friendly when i actually do make it inside. They helped me with my new apartment cashiers check the first day i moved to Sacramento in 2008. I do wish there was a closer ATM than Alhambra closer to the Capitol, but that’s not this branches control. I’ve never had any problems with Citibank and have been a customer since 2007. Keep up the good work citibank.
