Stopped in for cocktails before my flight. It was an ok pour but the same old«want a double for 5 dollars more» airport question. Then it was a 2 ounce pour and called a double! I had the Deviled Eggs as a snack that were as plain and flavorless as they come. The bar tender hit a button on the gun and sprayed soda everywhere and all over my Tablet too! I guess the tip came off the gun and that is what cause it. The service was ok until then and I have had much better drinks and apps at just about every airport in the country.

Absolutely fantastic and all great recommendations by Karen — salmon was amazing and so was the sashimi. Great find at the Sacramento airport

Eating here blind folded you would be shocked to find out you are in an airport. If you are in a rush sit at the bar and let them know. They will help expedite your visit. We only had twenty minutes before our flight and were able to each have a drink, the salmon cakes, and the filet mignon sandwich and fries. The meat was cooked perfectly and I would recommend both. This was a great start to a weekend getaway.

Nice atmosphere, good food, rather slow service which isn’t great if you’re catching a flight. We almost always stop here for a quick bite before a flight back to Seattle. Food is fine and it’s a nice place to relax. Last time our server was great(Karen), food was just extra slow coming out of the kitchen. If you’re in a hurry you might want to let your server know. These are airport prices, so a bit on the high side. We shared a wedge salad $ 10.50(good) Grilled Chicken sandwich and fires $ 14.50(ok) Angus Burger and generous amount of bbq chips $ 18.00(good) Drinks are really expensive, an Esquire Manhattan(ok) was $ 17.99

Traveling is stressful enough, but my waiter here managed to make my night more stressful. I sat down at the bar and ordered a glass of wine. The waiter, Barry(i think) asked for my id. I must admit, time has been good to me. Although I’m 32 years old, I could go for 24 – 25. I handed him my Global Entry card, a DHS trusted traveler card. He examined it for a while and then asked for another form of id. Are you serious? I was ordering a glass of wine, not going through customs. Not to mention, it’s the same id I had just used to come through TSA, which clearly displays my date of birth. I started to explain to him what the card was and he cut me off, saying very loudly, «I don’t know if I can accept this. I need to speak with my manager.» By this time, the other bar patrons started asking me what was going on. I was so irritated with his attitude, I wanted to get up and leave. The manager came over, took one look at me, and told him it was fine. The food on the other hand was AMAZING. I had the blue cheese burger with fries. It was a hefty sized burger, very juicy and perfectly seasoned. It was quite heavenly and reasonably priced. The ambience feels very classy sports bar-ish. It’s dimly lit and they have flat screened tv’s so you can watch the game. The seats are comfortable and I also noticed they have outlets for phone charging. If you find yourself hungry and in the B terminal, definitely grab one of their burgers.

Geez, the best grilled chicken sandwich I may have ever eaten. Great server, plenty of refills on the ice tea. 5 stars all the way.

They have a sign outside«wait here to be seated» waited for 10 mins, several waiters made eye contact with my girl friend and myself, no one seated us with less than half of the tables full. Went across the way and got a tritip sandwich at jacks urban eats. Fuck esquire grill.

One of the best airport bars I’ve been to, great food and great drinks! Of course it’s expensive but what airport food isn’t? Had the truffle fries, bacon mac n cheese and deviled eggs. The fires were crisp, The bacon mac and cheese had nice thick bacon diced bits and a delicious cheese sauce. The deviled eggs had great texture and flavor. I’d definitely make this a stop before I board again!

Pros: Great waitstaff/service: they sat me next to a power outlet, at my request! Great food for an airport, rare to see a localvore-focused join in an aiport. Cons: Breakfast PROMPTLY stops at 10am. Expensive: I got a steak sandwich that came out to around $ 20.(!) Bottom line: probably your best bet for eats inside security at SMF, if you can stomach the cost.

Good quality food for an airport. This is an off-shoot of the well-known Esquire Grill in downtown Sacramento. The Cobb salad was good, as was the mac and cheese. The bloody Mary was a little too thick and spicy, but overall everything was pretty decent for an airport.

One of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a long time! Jennifer our waitress was definitely on point as well! Esquire Grill is so very upscale and this restaurant did not disappoint! Both my HB and I split an spinach & mushroom veggie omelette with side potatoes & a few red onions. It was all very delish as well as the accompanying sourdough toast with raspberry jam in its own little dish. We were pretty much in and out of here within a half hour! It’s hard to believe we were eating breakfast at our own beautiful Sactown airport! Come here with confidence. These people really know their stuff. It comes highly recommended! I know we will be back:-)

Cozy seats and booths. Food is served in generous amounts, but is almost flavorless. Bloody marys, on the other hand, could unstop a drain.

Goodness, tried the heirloom tomato appetizer($ 5) with a glass of red wine and I certainly was NOT disappointed contrary to my initial feelings. The wine was great(Alexander Valley red) however the salad was amazing! I thought at first it would mimic something similar to a caprese and so when I saw the dish and it’s size, I won’t lie. I was a bit disappointed and felt like I’d been scammed. Happy to say that once I did try the appetizer I truly felt $ 5 was very reasonable if not cheap considering the flavors and complexity of this dish. The cheese was soft yet firm, even creamy(!), almost like a hybrid between goat cheese and mozzarella in terms of consistency(it’s called buratta). The cucumbers with bread crumbs on top added a crunch that perfectly balanced the dish and the dressing(whatever it may have been) was not so strong that it overpowered the flavors. In fact, the dressing was so subtle I thought I was eating raw firm, plump, JUICY tomatoes(and I don’t like super tomato-y dishes). The baby cilantro helped add a freshness to the dish. In addition to the food, my hostess provided me with complimentary bread and butter(which was VERY fresh) and offered to watch my belongings when I asked if it’d be possible to run to my gate and check on some things which included a VERY delayed flight. Overall, LOVED this establishment and hope that if I ever return to Sacramento I make sure to stop by the actual downtown location.

Got to the airport pretty early for my flight and had a couple of hours to spare. Decided to stop in here for a snack since it was the only place open after 700 pm it seemed at the B gates. Food is pretty expensive for what it is but it’s an airport do expected. I had the ahi and a side of fries. Ahi was delicious for being at an airport, came with a great light soy. The fries were nice and crispy. Overall, pretty good for an airport. Menu isn’t extensive.

This place was good I had the burger and it filled me up before my flight and left me full haha but really only 4 stars because the seats were uncomfortable at the bar. Don’t lean back too far you’ll fall out of it! Great food great service but uncomfortable chairs. Gotta be comfortable if we’re payin the money for the food!

Great and friendly staff. I was seated right away and my server acknowledge be in less than 3 minutes. The food came quick which is great for someone starving and someone who’s stressed out due to time constraint. The ambience was nice, restaurant clean although it’s a bit pricey which is expected since it’s at the airport. I ordered the ribeye steak with BBQ potato chips. It was mouth-watering and just awesomely delectable.

The food is actually pretty good. I had the endive salad and it was totally solid. The service is terrible though. I MEANTERRIBLE. My girlfriend asked if she could get the seared ahi(which usually comes over shredded cabbage) over a greens salad instead(which they also had on the menu). She was told, and I’m seriously quoting, «these are the chef’s special salads and I won’t ask him to make changes, would you like something else?» I was flabbergasted. Oh, I’m sorry… I didn’t realize this was Chef Morimoto’s restaurant and I asked him to please modify his omakase(tasting menu, which is fantastic BTW). Or Scott Conant’s and I’m telling him he got the flavor balance wrong(which he obviously doesn’t). No, I’m at an airport restaurant asking for a reasonable modification to a set menu item. On top of this the service was horrifically slow. If you have plenty of time before your flight, the food is actually pretty good for airport eats. However, set your service expectations VERY low.

This place is more than decent for a pre-flight meal! I prefer their breakfasts to their lunches, but I’d still choose Esquire Grill over most other food spots in Terminal B for any time of the day. The omelet was fluffy, the bacon was crisp and tasty. Scallions were fresh and bright green! The potatoes were ok… slightly under-seasoned and only warm, but cooked perfectly. The atmosphere is relaxed and the booths are comfy. Floors and tables were clean and glassware and silverware were spotless. One thing that stood out the most to me was how kind the kitchen and wait staff were to each other! Often, in diner environments, you can hear staff getting impatient or frustrated with each other; I experienced the exact opposite here and it was a refreshing experience. It’s nice to see people be kind to each other in difficult situations.

This place has become the go to spot for us when flying out of Sacramento. We normally fly out before noon and tend to order breakfast. The mimosas are expensive but a great way to start the day. They have amazing waffles and those alone deserve 5 stars. The eggs are on point and the bacon is a great addition to any breakfast. So why 3 stars? We had the misfortune of having lunch there today. Our server was very busy, yet still seemed to lack any sense of organization. Our soup came out way too early and cold. I had to get up twice to get tea refills. And we were never once checked on after our meal arrived. My burger was pretty good though. And the fries were hot and cooked well. A bit heavy handed with the salt, but still good. I hate taking away stars due to one overworked server, but it took away from enjoying our food.

As far as airport food goes, Esquire Grill is a nice-r place to drop in for a bite before your flight in Sacramento. My family and I had a boatload of time to spare before catching our flight to to Phoenix after Thanksgiving, so we parked ourselves at Esquire Grill! It’s not every day that all seven(yes, SEVEN) of us are on vacation together. I enjoyed a glass of Malbec and the Pulled Pork Sliders. Really liked the coleslaw that was on these! My family seemed to enjoy what they ordered. Server handled our large group with style. Again, nice place to unwind before your flight.
