Compared rates with hotel next door. Prices were significantly lower at HAMPTON but the service is what urged me to write a review. Vanesha checked us in quickly and told us our options for dinner in the area. Friendly service, clean hotel. Highly recommended.

Great place to stay. Staff was super nice and helpful. The breakfast was amazing! The rooms were very clean and nicely made. It was also very close to the freeway, which was nice and I personally didn’t hear anything from the freeway. I felt the cost per day was great for the room and the breakfast.

Rooms are nice & clean. Hotel is overall better or on standard with hotels. What else could you really want?

I had an AMAZING experience here just last weekend! My boyfriend and I were in town for a wedding (5÷16÷15) and needed a place to stay for the weekend ASAP (our original plans didn’t work out.) I called and explained to them the issue and they were more than willing to help! I originally booked a room for Friday night. When I had checked in, I realized I also needed a room for Saturday night (poor planning on my part) but the front desk was more than willing to help and accommodate me! They were willing to work with my crazy schedule for the wedding by letting me check out of a room late and even check in to another room early!
They were so accommodating and friendly. I will definitely stay here again!

Good slightly above average hotel, rooms are pretty spacious and upgrades have been made.
The area isn’t that great that’s around the hotel and there is no place close to eat.
The comp breakfast is pretty good.
I’ve stays here at least 10 nights and the rooms have always been clean.

This is an okay hotel with pretty upkeep and cleanliness. The draw back is simply the area. The address implies Cal Expo Center yet the property is at least 2 miles from the center. The access to the highway is great but if you are traveling on business and looking for a dinner location be prepared to get back in the car. The neighborhood is not the greatest and there is nothing within walking distance. Recommendation… if you are simply passing through it is a fine property… If you are planning on a couple nights stay somewhere else.

This is the worse hotel ever! I wish I didn’t have to give them any stars because they deserve a negative if anything. I usually stay at the Hilton’s, it was too late for a room so they only had one left at the Hamptons. I trusted The Hilton’s rep and decided to book a room there. When I first walked in the service was good. The front desk was polite and immediately took care of me and my friend. The incident happened the next morning. A housekeeper decided to walk in on me while I was naked and just got out the shower. I screamed and she did too, she left my room and decided to go up the front desk and waited for me. As I was checking out around 11:28am i was talking to the office manager. She interrupted me and rudely said I’m sorry for opening the door. I reply back saying I didn’t appreciate that. She said excuse me with an attitude. So I told her again, I don’t appreciate her opening my room. Once again with an attitude she said «you should’ve had your DND on the door» I ignore her. Told the front desk manager I wanted to speak to someone about this. She interrupts again saying «here’s her card, she’s the manager. Her name is Heidi and I’m Donna» I just walked out. A housekeeper should never be in the front arguing with guests. That’s for the desk manager to deal with. I called Heidi, she refuses a refund back to me and stated Donna wasn’t just a housekeeper. She was an executive housekeeper. Wth! They even have a sign in the front, «if you’re not satisfy, we don’t expect you to pay» DAMN LIE! File a complaint and never heard back! STAT AWAY FROM THIS GHETTO PLACE
Finally received a call from Heidi calling me a liar! Saying nothing happened during my stay after she review the camera footage. Then she said it herself there was no audio. I told her again, of course I was not trying to deal with her crappy housekeeper but her housekeeper kept talking to me in a rude manner. Too bad that she couldn’t listen to the audio. UNBELIEVABLE! WORSE MANAGEMENT EVER. SO UNPROFESSIONAL. NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN

I was here on business. I booked ten rooms for my business partners. The hotel was nice and clean. Jerry at the front desk was great. It wasn’t until after I left that my credit card was charged an additional $ 25. I called the front desk and spoke with another person at the front desk and asked why my credit card was charged the additional $ 25. He replied for stealing a hanger from the room. I became enraged. I never used any of the hangers, in fact they had so many hangers in the closet that when I pushed them to the side, I had barely enough room to hang my clothes with the hangers I brought with me. DO NOT CALL ME A THIEF before you find out that your housekeeping service can’t count or confirm that they counted the hangers before I checked in. I immediately asked for the manager Heidy. I was transferred to her voicemail. I left a message to call me back and how I did not appreciate her employee calling me a thief. I also called back to the front desk and had the same person who called me a thief take a message for Heidy to call me. I wanted to make sure the manager called me back. A day went by and no call. I called back to the hotel and left two more messages. As of this date, I still have not received a telephone call from anyone from the hotel or credited the $ 25. I will never stay at another Hampton Inn and I will never recommend Hampton Inn to my colleagues. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! My advice to anyone who stays at a Hampton Inn, is make sure you take inventory and count the hangers, towels and anything else in the room and report it immediately. I have stayed at several hotels on business and I never thought I would have to take inventory of every item inside the room right after checking in. I verified that Heidy was working both days that I had left messages for her to call me. Since she has not returned my calls obviously she does not care about customer service and condones her employee’s behavior. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HAMPTON INN!!!

Great hotel! Made a reservation for the HI for one weekday night They are approx. 10 mins away from Cal Expo, shopping mall and a ton of restaurants. Entire hotel including room, breakfast area, reception were very clean. Best part is that they (according to signs in the elevator) actually wash the duvet covers after EVERY guest leaves. Now I know that should be the norm for every hotel, but it’s not! Beds and pillows were comfy.
Room had a little desk in the corner, small fridge & microwave — along with free wi-​fi!
Only negative I can comment on was that the Hotel is parallel to a freeway and walls are thin so you do get a little noise. Staff was super friendly and breakfast was great. Breakfast selection included omelette, sausage, oatmeal, make it yourself waffles, cereal, yogurt, bagels, muffins, fresh whole & cut fruit, juice & about 5 different coffee choices — so many options!
For ~ $ 120/​night (including taxes), the room was worth it! Will definitely stay there again if the need arises.

I like this hotel. Located in a quiet area of Sacramento, it’s pretty close to the downtown area. It’s a small hotel so it’s not crazy or loud. It’s not anything fancy, but it’s comfortable. Everything is clean and decorated in darker colors. The room is nice. I like how the front desk has a sign that says, «Welcome to California State Capital Sacramento.» There is also a little gift shop next to the front desk that sells souvenirs and snacks.
This hotel has some pretty good amenities. They have free outdoor self parking, wifi, and breakfast. They also have a pool and gym. The breakfast is really good. They have a lot of hot food and drinks. It’s also a good variety of food. It really filled me up. There is however, no restaurant or bar inside the hotel.
Definitely would stay here again.

This is one of the older, smaller, Hampton properties… however, there’s NOTHING old, small seeming, or sub-​standard (and when the new lobby is done, it will be very modern business-​casual/​chic!) here at all. Starting with the reservation process for my group (21 rooms for three nights), Jamie E. took GREAT care of us, provided the rate we needed, and worked with our arrival/​departure/​bus parking and even provided us with a WELCOME RECEPTION (this is one amazing woman)…as we arrive, the other Jamie (nicknamed J2), welcomed us, had every room organized and prepared, even though we were nearly two hours early, and her smile never faded, even when one of my ‘people’ was asking for PC/​windows advice…
I give this particular Hampton SIX STARS… the rooms/​beds were fine, but, the PEOPLE MAKE THE PROPERTY and these folks are ROCK STARS!

Overall, an excellent smaller hotel. It’s going through some renovations right now, but the room we stayed in was excellent. It had a king sized bed, nice 40″ LCD TV, microwave, small fridge, and large bathroom.
The free breakfast was excellent too. It had more hot food (eggs, sausage, and biscuit with gravy, and fresh waffles) than other free hotel breakfasts that I’ve been to. Also, it had a nice assortment of bagels, bread, danishes, hot oatmeal, yogurt, many different flavors of coffee, juices, fresh cut fruit, bananas, and apples. I think this breakfast is one of the better ones I’ve had at a hotel recently (comparing Holiday Inn Express, Best Western, and La Quinta).
An excellent stay at Hampton Inn. They are going through some renovations in the lobby, so it’s a little messy and the seating area in the lobby/​breakfast area is limited due to the construction.
The staff and housekeeping crew were all very friendly and helpful. No complaints there.
There’s free wifi and wired internet in the room.

I just got back home today from staying at this place. First I would like to say that my experience was great thanks to Amit who is perhaps the most pleasant hotel employee I’ve ever met in my life.
Now back to the hotel…
Rooms — The room was big, clean and smelled super fresh.
Extras — They offer free breakfast every morning which is great, they have sausages, omelets, gravy, muffins, assortments of fruits, cereal, muffins, yogurts, coffee and a juice bar. The pool is not huge but big enough and pretty clean too. The gym is tiny but that’s ok. They have free WI-​FI but it really sucks unless you’re in the lobby (that’s the minus 1 star)
Location — Super close to the freeway which makes this hotel nicely located for reaching whatever your destination is in Sacramento.

This hampton inn is OK, but not worthy of 4 stars.
— Fairly recent remodel. Newer décor, LCD flat screens, and has a fresh clean feel
— Staff were friendly enough
— Location is near the freeway, however there are not too many restaurants around (maybe 5 – 10 minute drive for dinner), and it doesn’t seem to be the nicest section of town. I wouldn’t leave any valuables in the car.
— Noise wasn’t a problem, and the rooms have individual A/​Cs with fans so you can run the fan at night which helps me sleep.
Overall I’d be tempted to give it a 4^th star, but I have one complaint. I am Hilton Diamond, meaning I travel a lot. And even though I had reserved a King single bed, on a high floor, away from an elevator, I got a double Queen, on the 2^nd (of 3) floors, mid-​way from the elevator. Also, they didn’t have my water or snack in the room, and forgot to offer it to me when I checked in, so I had to go downstairs and get the water myself.
Actually… 2 complaints. The free wifi was particularly slow here. If the manager reads these comments, take it from me: You should invest in some more bandwidth. It will go a long way towards
better reviews.
All in all I think the hotel is fine if you are in the area. But don’t go out of your way to get here — there are some other Sacramento area Hilton properties that are a bit nicer.

Stayed here for one night when we went to see Cal Expo.
The place was clean and the free breakfast in the morning was pretty good. Though it’s right next to the freeway, we didn’t hear any noise on our side of the place.
The nearby area looks a bit rough; so, I wouldn’t suggest taking a stroll around the area in the middle of the night.
If I wanted a clean comfortable place to stay in that area, I’d go back.

This Hampton Inn & Suites is very clean and neat. The rooms have been recently remodeled for an attractive look. There’s a complimentary breakfast in the morning with food besides donuts, bagels, etc. so you can have a healthy breakfast.
Service is friendly and helpful at the front counter. I needed directions and was quickly provided with a map to help me figure out where I was going.
The only drawback to this place is it’s off I-​80, but getting to it is kinda tricky depending on which way you’re approaching. Suffice to say, I spent an extra 10 minutes coming back one evening as I took a wrong turn and couldn’t make it back easily.
