My husband & I love Indian food. This was the most disgusting food we’ve ever been served. Half of it was cold and the soda was flat. Do not waste your time or money.

Not bad but I can’t really recommend it. Definitely have to second the other review here, this is home-style Indian cooking. It’s not really food you would find in most Indian restaurants: it’s a bit richer and unpretentious, though not lacking in flavor. That being said, there are better options for this type of food elsewhere. One note: the chai was amazing. I’m not sure it’s on the menu because our server hesitated when we asked and then said he’d make it special for us. It was as outstanding as the rest of the food was underwhelming, barely sweetened with just the right amounts of ginger and cardamom.

This food is not for the American palate, although my little daughters loved the tandoori chicken and basmati rice. This is a new restaurant to the scene, in a very out of the way spot below the Florin light rail overpass. Going up to it, the signs say«Indian-Pakistani-Fijian» and«Halal» which means only meats allowed by the Muslim laws. Also, don’t plan to be drinking anything alcoholic. There is a prayer room for practicing Muslims. First of all, the restaurant smells delicately amazing. It’s definitely a good smell, both my kids(who hate it when I make Indian food) said it smelled very good. We each got the Thali/all in one dinners which were on special for $ 7.99, normally they are $ 9.99. It comes with 7 items, a chicken dish(butter chicken is advertised but we got a tasty chicken curry), a goat curry, a type of dal, and a piece of tandoori chicken, a chicken biryani, as well as rice and naan. We shared the naan and rice and chicken with the little ones, the dal was too spicy. I ordered 4 samosas($ 5), also spicy, but our waiter brought us mango chutney to mellow them. My husband pointed out that the food is not bad, it’s very filling and tasty, but it’s clear they do not cater to an American palate like most other restaurants that offer a larger variety/different levels of heat. I also believe it’s a very new restaurant, so they are still struggling, and therefore have limited offerings. What you might like: spicy heat, flavors you may not be used to, and hearty portions. What you need to know: it’s home cooking, very culturally relevant food. What you might not like: lots of bones, not much meat, and everything is spicy except the white rice and the water(the tandoori chicken is salty.) They do not automatically serve chutneys and raita, the only chutney offered to me after asking was the mango, and it was good(but spicy.) The ambiance is non existent if that matters to you. Also, it’s VERY evident they did a pesticide treatment recently, though it’s not dirty. I’m hoping that goes away soon. I think we’d go back, but without the kids, because it was pretty limited food-wise. Waitstaff was absolutely lovely.
