I have contemplated many months before writing this review and I want to say that this review is ONLY for the horrible hair cut I received. I also got all over color and it is absolutely beautiful, despite the way it comes out in the photo. Initially I loved my hair because of the color but as soon as I got home and started really looking at it, especially the back of it, it was horrible. The girl who did my hair was a teenager (maybe 19), so maybe she just lacked experience in cutting but she strayed so far from the photo that I brought in that the only thing that I can think is that she messed up and didn’t know how to fix it. I had really thick, long hair that I loved. I brought in a photo that would have taken a few inches off of my hair and given me bangs. I left with a hack job, no bangs, but color that I liked. The hair cut was so bad that I had to go to Alchemy and pay $ 55 to have it fixed, which meant that they had to cut off my hair to right below my chin in order to even it out. (over 10 inches all together). They couldn’t believe what had been done to my hair. It has been 10 months since this haircut and my hair is barely past my shoulders. I’m still upset and will never use another Groupon for a haircut.

Where did Marlee go!!! As I heard this cute salon/​spa was closing I had to do a lot of research, but finally found my hair savior at Hair Revolution on Broadway and couldn’t be more thrilled. That’s where she is ladies and gentlemen. She’s amazing :)

A friend bought me a pedicure here on Groupon for my birthday awhile back and we finally decided to go one Saturday morning so we called to make an appointment for later in the day. To my surprise, they were booked solid. And they were going to be closed on Sunday and on Monday (for Labor Day). Apparently they don’t even have room to take walk ins unless they have a cancellation so we tried to get it scheduled for the following Friday late afternoon, but they didn’t have that available either and said they could take us one after the other a bit earlier in the afternoon, but we wanted to do it together so we asked about Saturday instead. Booked. Ooooooooook. Why don’t you just tell us what you do have available? We were finally given an appointment two weeks out that worked for both of us. It was comical how long it took to actually set an appointment and my boyfriend commented that our feet were probably going to rot off by the time they could actually get us in there lol.
I knew they didn’t have pedicure chairs from reading other reviews, but the setup was even jankier than I was expecting once we arrived for our appointment. They had two regular chairs set up in the middle of the small manicure area with Walmart looking portable foot baths that live in trash bags inside a cabinet when they aren’t being used. The chairs weren’t even set up side by side or going the same direction and one was actually facing away from the other so it would have been impossible for my friend and I to talk to each other. We asked about moving them and they rotated one setup to face the other way. We still weren’t next to each other or directly facing each other but it was better than before.
Erica and Carla did our pedicures. Erica told us all about how they provide free services to cancer patients on Mondays and explained that that’s why they have the portable foot baths with liners, to prevent contamination causing illness or infection. That’s all very nice, and I can appreciate that they are striving to be sterile, but I still MUCH prefer a normal pedicure chair. The setup looks like they just decided one day to start doing pedicures and couldn’t afford chairs so they went this route. They could at least have a dedicated space set up with two chairs side by side if they are going to offer pedicures.
As for the actual Deluxe Pedicures, not so deluxe. My feet were barely soaked before they were scrubbed. She didn’t remove all of my previous polish. She cut my skin while she was cutting a nail, and she actually didn’t even cut all of my nails so they were some that were different lengths. The debris from cutting my nails and scrubbing my feet was getting all over the floor around the foot bath and grossing me out. I was given a short sugar scrub, a paraffin treatment, and a brief foot massage. My nails were quickly painted and I was rushed out of the chair without the chance to let my nails dry because the next appointment was there. I found sugar scrub still stuck to my ankle later on in the day.
Erica and Carla were nice, but I wasn’t at all impressed with the experience and won’t be returning.

Firstly I would like to say that this rating is based on the spa product’s quality and is in no way reflection of the manicurist (she was very good).
I went in to get a end of the summer pedicure on Saturday morning. After choosing a bright pink polish color from their color wheel I enjoyed a very lovely soak and much needed foot attention. But once she began painting my toe nails things started to look glum. The beautiful bright shade of pink polish that I had selected was by Wet and Wild… you know, the $ 1.99 polish sold at Walmart for teenagers. As she was attempting to paint my nails I noticed that she was having difficulty since the thick, cheap polish would not spread evenly. I thought of requesting a different color only to notice that all of their selection was low grade and old looking bottles. But I decided to remain optimistic. Who knows, maybe they used some miracle top cot that would make up for the thick gloppy color. Unfortunately that did not occur. Even with remaining extremely cautious, my pedicure was destroyed within hours.

After several calls and attempts to schedule an appointment, I was able to finally get in. Upon arriving, the receptionist was speaking with a customer on speaker phone, while the customer was giving out her personal information.
The floor in the waiting area was gross! So much hair all over. There was also trash on the floor. We were not greeted, the receptionist and another lady were too concerned with a customer who just left after waiting too long (I gather).
The receptionist finally came over to ask if we needed anything and that they would be right with us and then went to get her own hair cut. So alas, no on at the front desk.
I got called back 12 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. The technician seemed flustered and threw a wheel of colors at me, told me to sit down and then left. The chairs were regular office chairs, not comfortable AT ALL. I was in the back hallway area, weird. The foot bath was this store bought small tub with a plastic insert. VERY BASIC.
The pedicure was ok. She kept makin me put my legs up so high. I’ve never been so uncomfortable before. The nail polish job looked like a 5 year old did it. I was not offered anything to drink or a place to put my purse. I had to hold my purse in my lap the entire time because I was not putting it on the disgusting floor.
I will never come back, ever.

I have gotten my hair done twice by Tanisha here at Kahootz. She is now my official Hair Stylist. (I live in Elk Grove, but I make the drive :) for her!)She knows her work! And an artist at it. The salon has the cutest Décor. Just recently, we colored my locks Red and OMG I am in LOVE. She is super funny and I am comfortable with her. At first I was iffy on her tactics but now I have nothing but Full trust in this women! Thanks for making me look Hot Doll. See you soon!
P. S. On the Nail side, they have all kinds of beautiful colors/​gels. Once I get the time I definitely have to check it out :)

(Deep sigh) I really don’t want to come across harsh, but I have to be honest. I went to this salon for a pedicure and I was not pleased. Carla, along with the other ladies, displayed quality customer service. Even though Carla took her time on the pedicure it was not up to par. When I left the salon I still had dead skin and the polish was NOT THE BEST! I was so dissatisfied with my polish that I went to another shop immediately after leaving to get a polish change. Some parts of my toe nails were not polished, while there was polish on my actual toes. There is nowhere in the salon to dry the polish so it messes up quickly. Once again, Carla’s customer service was great and she was nice. Unfortunately, I have to say again that I was NOT PLEASED with the pedicure.
Please don’t take any of this as rude, it’s just honest.

What I can say about this Salon is the Esthetician Carla is absolutely awesome! Will use her again for a facial, she’s running a special. Carla is worth your time! Go see her, promise you will appreciate her attention to detail. I agree with another review, the seating arrangement is odd and the salon itself I am not a big fan. There were issues with the scheduling and timing of returned phone calls so I think there is a disconnect with the scheduling desk/​staff.

I love finding new places through Groupon, and this salon was a good find. I needed a hair cut pretty badly, so I got a great deal at Kahootz salon and thought — hey maybe I should get a pedicure while I’m at it! Online booking was easy and efficient, scheduled a 3 hour block first with Erica for haircut and dye, and then with Tiffany for pedicure. I have lots of thick wavy hair, which seems to always run my appointments overtime, however the ladies were able to accommodate so that I got my pedicure while the color was processing. Oh, and what a pedicure! Tiffany is the most gentle, wonderful nail professional I have ever met. Sugar scrub and paraffin wax had me slipping and sliding in my flip flops for the next 2 days. The only issue was that the extra time spent with dye on my scalp, caused a reaction so for the next few days the skin on my scalp felt puffy and sensitive. I have sensitive skin though, so it may not be a reflection of the quality of the color, but just an isolated case.
Other than that, the staff and services are great and it is worth mentioning that the salon collects hair for donation (donated mine!) and offers services for free on Mondays to cancer ‘warriors’. Check them out!

I purchased a Groupon for a cut, dye, and style. I went to make an appointment online and I was able to get one the next day! I had an appointment with Tanisha and she was awesome and very personable. She asked me what I wanted and she was able to produce it! Tanisha was very thorough when washing out the dye solution which is important, plus the shampoo smelled like vanilla cupcake! The other ladies there were also personable and sweet!

Was very impressed. Erica and Tiffany were the best. As a Sutter nurse, I was swept away by the kind hearts and the all around good spirits in this salon. Its what they’re about that sold me and made me want to be part of something bigger than myself. It’s not about a haircut… It’s about the people and the stories that made me come back. You’ll have to see for yourself. Felt great when I walked in… felt even better when I left! Thanks for all you do

I bought a $ 20 Delux Pedicure Groupon ($ 35 value). Although the seating is a little unorthodox, the service is amazing. Carla and Tiffany made me and my boyfriend so comfortable and gave the most amazing foot massages. They kept cracking jokes and provided a quality pedicure including a sugar scrub and paraffin wax.
They will honor the groupon price if you are uneasy with buying a groupon.
They also provide free salon services to any cancer and dialysis patients on Monday’s. Super sweet…

While I hate leaving bad reviews, my experience was so terrible that I just couldn’t keep it to myself. I wish I had read a bad review to give me a heads-​up about this place before my appointment. My experience was absolutely terrible from start to finish… I just had my hair fixed by an actual professional who was forced to cut an additional two inches off of my hair to fix the mistakes made by the stylist at Kahootz. I was so upset that I just signed up for Unilocal for the sole purpose of leaving this review. I hope that my review will keep someone else from making the same mistake I made.
The stylist who helped me (Jocelyn) was helping another client at the same time — which wouldn’t have been a big deal to me at all… except for the fact that I had to spend 4 hours of my day on a haircut and ¼ inch root touchup (single color). I purchased a deal on Groupon, thinking it would be a great way to find a stylist since the salon I’ve been going to for 10 years closed down and my stylist moved to SF. Boy, was I wrong. The stylist left me sitting alone with hair color in my hair for about 1.5 hours staring at the wall. Then, when she finally washed the color out, she missed the entire bottom of my head (which I didn’t even realize until the nape of my neck started to itch like crazy on my way home). When I touched the area it was sticky, my scalp was tender, and my fingers were covered in hair color. This was in the car on my way home, people. There was hair color in my ears, on my hair line, and stuck to my scalp. I figured I’d clean it all up myself, but I was in for another surprise.
When I got home, scrubbed the color off and dried my hair, it was clear that the haircut was a mess. I have long hair (middle of my back) with longer layers — and my layers were cut terribly! My layers were uneven in a lot of places; the cut looked choppy, the layers were uneven and longer on one side. The bottom was uneven and looked like gardening shears were used to cut my hair. No amount of styling could cover up the mess. Also, during the cut, I kept getting hit in the face with my hair as the stylist was swinging my hair around, and every time she moved the chair, she bumped into my legs. I felt like I was being tossed around and smacked in the face like a rag doll. Do they not teach client etiquette in beauty school anymore? I’ve never experienced anything like this before. So unprofessional.
Heavy sigh. I can’t say much for the rest of the salon either. It was unclean and what looked like the employees’ personal belongings (shoes, handbags, clothes, etc.) were scattered everywhere. I was so upset that I called Groupon and told them about the experience. They refunded me with no questions asked. I did not contact the salon, nor will I ever be returning to that place or that stylist.

I’m sorry, but I wasn’t too happy with my experience. I showed a photo to the girl who was to do my hair, and it didn’t turn out at all what I was hoping. Not only that, my hair was cut un-​even in a lot of places, and the hair color turned out very yellow.
I even had to come back the next day to get it fixed. I had to even point out where the mistakes were and had her even out my layers. I almost felt like she was fresh out of school or something because it didn’t seem like she quite knew what she was doing. She was a very nice girl. but unfortunately, not that great at hair.
Will not be returning here.

She knows exactly what she’s doing. I can tell she has experience with different types of hair. i love when she washes my hair, feels amazing, only using the best products on my hair. She always recommends ways to keep my hair healthy and long. I get blow dried and flat ironed. I don’t trust anyone with my hair and she always does a great job.

Disappointed in my pedicure. Toe nails weren’t painted all the way and there are spots where you can see through nail polish. :/

I asked for purplish red and they gave me blonde.

It was very hard to decide how many stars to give this place, to be honest. There were both hits and misses, but overall I had a good experience hence the four stars. I got a $ 33 groupon for this place, which included cut, color, and style.
I got here exactly at 12 for my appointment. My scheduled stylist (Jocelyn) was working on another client’s hair, so I sat down to wait and was offered coffee or tea. At 12:15 another stylist (Mandi) said she would do my hair since she had some free time while Jocelyn was still working on someone else’s hair. They were the only two stylists there, apparently every other person had gotten food poisoning, so it was kind of crazy. Mandi mixed my color based on a picture I showed her, and then her own client started saying how she wanted her to work on her hair, so I had to wait for her to wash and cut her original client. Totally understandable, but I am glad I did not have any plans since I had to wait even longer to get my hair done. After the first client was finished, Mandi gave me her full attention (well, besides when the phone rang and such since she and Jocelyn were the only ones available). She dyed my hair (a gorgeous auburn that both the stylists and other clients loved), and then washed, cut, and blow dried. Two other clients had to sit and wait, but we all understood that they were busy!
So, a couple of negatives. I had to wait longer than I expected, and it turns out that Jocelyn thought the client she was working on was her 12 pm appointment, when I was, and that is why she was not available. I would have appreciated a call saying they were running behind, but they did call their later appointments while I was there to let them know. Another client suggested that they have alcohol as well, nothing better than sipping a mimosa while getting your hair done!
Mainly positives, though. My hair turned out gorgeous and I am scheduled with Mandi again in six weeks. It was fun to sit around chatting with the stylists and other clients, definitely a nice group atmosphere. Easy parking. No attempts to sell me a bunch of products I did not want or need. Also, the fact that Mandi and Jocelyn kept their cool even though they were pretty swamped was impressive. I will be back, even though it is out of my way. Oh! They also have online scheduling, which is great since in typical introvert fashion I hate talking on the phone!

I went here using a groupon to get a full hair color, cut and style. Erica was the one who cut, styled, and dyed my hair for me and she did an INCREDIBLE job! I went in having an idea of what I wanted. She not only showed me all my options but she explained to me how the different dye colors would affect my hair and how it would look. Since I don’t dye my hair very often if at all it was very informative and helped me reach a decision as to what exact colors would be mixed into my hair.
Not only did my hair turn out beautifully, but truly the people there are amazing! Being there was comfortable and the people who work there truly have good attitudes and love what they do! I will definitely be coming back

I would first like to say that I am the pickiest person on the planet :) even though nails are two weeks life span, I want them to look as perfect as possible. I am also a licensed cosmo and I know how important clean salons are, you cannot go wrong at Kahootz! I had the opportunity to be with Carla! She does nails, pedis and facials! I got all of this done, she takes her craft seriously and is clean and will make you laugh! My nails were the most important part and I had no bubbles!!! Toes lasted longer than 2 weeks polish wise, and my skin felt brand new! She even told me how often to exfoliate even though I should know better. For any of your nail care or esti needs, ask for Carla! But anyone there I feel would take care of you! I want to spread the word since they are a newer place of business.
