I loved this place for its awesome variety of greeting cards and unique knicknacks. I was so disappointed to swing by yesterday only to find that they were gone! No word on if they moved locations or closed for good. :(

Would give them a 5 for cute stuff. Great place for stocking stuffers. But service is terrible. Been waiting forever to pay, clerk is moving sooooooo slow, and prices aren’t makes so she has to keep going around looking at display to find price…

Wonderful items for anyone. Great place to buy fun gifts.

Best place in town to buy greeting cards!

I’m new in town and am always looking for unique gifts and cards. This great shop has a ton of fun items to choose from. The store owner was extremely helpful and friendly. Great selection of items for any occasion.

Great place to find a unique gift, gift wrap, greeting cards, or a little «treat.yo.self» present. The owner is super friendly and all the items seem to be carefully hand-​selected so you’ll truly find some unique options.

Very cute shop. The owner Sheila is very friendly and helpful. Finally a good place to pick up cards for all occasions. I used to go to Post Cards Etc. but since they closed I have been picking up cards whenever I go to SFO. Now I can pick up cards and silly little gifts on the fly once again!
Who knew that they have been there for 3 years!

good seasonal and b-​day cards. good wrapping paper and a nice staff. if you want to make a person’s day special, this place is worth a stop in to prepare your gift for them. i’ve even been late and hurried and they will wrap a gift from somewhere else for me.

Soooo it’s Tuesday morning. Their hours state Mon — Sat 10 – 7. Nothing about being closed on Tuesday yet I’m sitting here. In front of the store at 1030. No lights. Door locked. No sign. Guess they don’t want business. Sigh. Back to Papyrus. What losers..

Cute little gift shop in the heart of Midtown! They offer a wide selection of cards to choose from, all unique and crafty-​looking. They stock many gift item knick knacks, from magnets to coin purses to candles to other random novelty items. I have stopped in on several occasions as I’ve passed by on my strolls wandering Midtown — I find it hard not to pop in and check out their latest additions. Today I bought 2 Mother’s Day cards (1 for my Aunt and 1 for my Mom — the one for my Aunt is a card that is blank inside so I can personalize it) and some birdie-​shaped paper clips. In the past, I’ve purchased a coin purse made of recycled materials and a couple of magnets for gifts. The only downside I can think of is that they are a bit pricy, which I suppose is to be expected for a shop of this type. Overall, I like this place and will continue to visit every now and then to enjoy browsing.

I had such fun exploring this store with my son and fiancé. The woman helping us was such a delightful person to talk to. She made it fun for my son to pick out some charms for a keychain. She even shared with us how easy it is to make our own from the same material. We’re definitely coming back again to visit. We didn’t find as many boy toys for 7+ age group as I would have liked, but I still found the store adorable. I’d like to find a cute bag or buy a T-​shirt. It’s a store that I want to help support and is delight to see!

I came here to look for a Valentines day card for my wife. The store was very clean and had a large variety of cards and small gifts. I quickly selected a Valentines day card and purchased it from the lady who I believed to be the owner. She was polite and provided good service.
I found the cards to be slightly more expensive than getting a card at Hallmark or Target, but they did have a lot of custom cards you can’t find elsewhere. Therefore I recommend going here if you want to make an impression, such as you didn’t get a last minute card at Walmart.
The parking is street parking which is metered so you will have to pay a small amount in parking fees (which adds to the cost of the card).
Its not the most convienient location for buying cards/​gifts, but worth it if you want to get something special for a loved one.

I love independent stores with paper craft, knick knacks, and tchotchkes. What I don’t love is a less than adequately ideal selection of a variety of notebooks (so much potential unfulfilled!) or flippant customer service by workers who seem to have no idea what their job is. Shame, because I really wanted to like this place more (I mean it’s called Ladybug Ladybug, how cute it that?!). Even with the minimal selection of notebooks, I found something with which I could make do… I’ll definitely have my eye out for other paper craft stores though.
Nevertheless, there was a good selection of cards and other knick knacks for all ages, particularly for girls age 1 – 10. For that alone, I’d come back here to find presents for my niece, or perhaps to peruse all the stuff they have and find something that’s cute but I really don’t need.

What a cute store! I spent like 45 minutes in here because there were so many little great things to look over and laugh at. Everything from cutesy stuff a child would like to humorous stuff adults would like. I bought my sister a ladybug kitchen timer (naturally, they had their namesake in product form). It is a wonderful place to find a unique gift for someone difficult to shop for– and they sell gift-​wrap, ribbons, and TONS of great cards too! I think it is technically a cooperative with a second business… as in: one space, two stores. I’m not entirely sure what that store’s name was but they also featured some really unique and beautiful finds (I believe they feature local artists). The two ladies (I think owners of each respective store) are super friendly and will just strike up a conversation with you.
Overall, a GREAT place to shop LOCALLY. A nice little gem of a boutique-​y store in Midtown right on J Street in the hustle and bustle of all those restaurants, so stop in!

I came here for a Dia de los Muertos sugar skull making class in October 2012. The class was great and Mari was a great instructor. I would attend this class again next year if it is offered — it was a lot of fun. The store itself has the cutest stuff — a lot of it is made by local artists which is very cool!

Super cute, novel knick-​knack and card shop on J street, right next to my favorite sushi place.
They have hundreds and hundreds of cards for every occasion —
from completely irreverent to hipster handmade, to ones your parents and grandparents would be proud to display on the mantle.
Lots of cute wrapping paper and stocking-​stuffer/​last minute gift type items. Unicorn corkscrew? Pirate magnets? They have them.
Recently they merged with another store, so be aware of this fact– if you pick up something adorable and they’re from the different stores, they won’t ring you up in the same transaction (They share an open space), which is sort of annoying, but they still have cute gifts.
My local place to get cards for my friends and loved ones!

I LOVE this place! The owner was so nice. She took the time to speak with my mother and me. We were there with my nieces and she let me take pictures. She was kind enough to listen to our ideas and suggestions.
The store is like a cute little boutique. I am a huge fan of ladybugs and I couldn’t wait to visit and check it out. Although there are more than just ladybug items there. So don’t let the name of the shop fool you. she has a wide variety of items and cards. I will definitely be returning to make many purchases.
I highly recommend as many of my friends as possible to check out her shop, and please support the small businesses. I really want this shop to be around for a long, LONG time!

Awesome selection of greeting cards, and lots of cute gifts. But the greeting cards — great selection, and not just the usual stuff — is the reason to visit this place. Mixed Bag is wonderful, but this place has some different options. It’s great to have two legit card stores so close to each other.

I do not know why I have waited to Unilocal this place being that my partner and I are kind of in love with it.
I will first state that my s.o. is not a Unilocaler (she barely uses text messaging and that is only if I threaten her life). We both, however, are big card buying stationary freaks. Being that we used to live in LaLa land, there was a lot more cardy-​type-​gifty-​type shops in the WeHo so we were ok (despite hating LA and wanting to shoot everyone we saw… so happy we live in Sac now). Sac has always been lacking in the locally owned card/​gift shop area. I love Mixed Bag, don’t get me wrong, but I love me some flare with a side of style and a smidge of bling. This shop is now our place to go for hilarious cards and funky fantastic artistically pleasing gifts.
I happened to go in after turkey day and the owner (who is usually there) was decorating the shop with another employee. They chatted with me as they (or she) always does and I ended up at the xmas card section. I bought a few tasteless cards after laughing for a good five minutes with both of these fabulous ladies. I am a big fan of buying sarcastic holiday cards and bday cards so I am always super happy when I come here.
Point being… I love this place. It is fun. It is a good place to stop with your pals. It is just a good Midtown Sac find.

They are kind of new (opened in November) and I was pleasantly surprised to find this on the block!
Clearance ladybug-​embroidered kid-​sized t-​shirts were $ 10, which seemed kind of high for something on clearance, but they were American Apparel which I guess is a trendy label (?). Anyway, they weren’t cute enough for me to fork out $ 10. However, they had the cutest toddler-​sized furry ladybug jacket for $ 24.
It was eerily quiet in there. Would help to play some music or something, but other than that, I would check out this spot for that one-​of-​a-​kind present.
