I have used this hair salon a few times mainly because I like Ann Duong who works there from Thurs. to Sunday. She has been cutting my hair for some years, even before she moved in PJF Salon. She is a well-​experienced hairstylist with a good people skill. You just need to tell her what cut you want, better yet bring a picture of the style you want and she’ll do it for you. She is also honest if she thinks the style is not fit for your hair type. Reasonable price, too.

PJF Salon is great because it provides a stylish, clean, and comfortable environment right when you walk through the doors. The women here are so friendly and welcome you immediately. You can tell that the employees here really do care about the salon and their customers.
This salon provides both hair and nail services, which is extremely convenient if you want to do both at the same time and place. I haven’t gotten my nails done yet, but I know by experience that PJF has one of the best hair stylists in Sacramento.
Ann is absolutely amazing. She’s been a hair stylist for years and is so experienced with everything that she does. She has cut my and my family’s hair for years and has always provided the best service. She’s extremely attentive toward her customers and listens to exactly what they want. Ann will always make sure that you’re satisfied with the result and that you leave with a smile on your face. I’ve shown her pictures of what color (s) I want my hair to be, and she’s always been honest about what the outcome will be with my hair. I have dark hair, so it can be difficult to lighten regardless of how much I want it to work. She’s extremely knowledgable with how dyes work with different types of hair, so she’ll let you know whether or not the desired look is achievable in one session, with/​without bleach, etc. Regardless, she will always do what the customer wants and provide advice if desired. The result of my hair was better than I had ever imagined and I couldn’t be happier.

Ann has been taking care of my hair for the last 20 years. She is very experienced, and does an excellent job on everything including cut, color, perm, shampoo and set. I’m not the type of person who logs into Unilocal to write bad reviews, but I feel this is very necessary.
So, I drive to my usual nail salon, and they turned me away because they’re too busy. As I was leaving the parking lot, I noticed PJF salon. Sign on the window said «Hair and Nails». Cool. I figured I’d give them a try.
The inside of the salon has a very relaxed, stylish vibe. Not one customer inside though. Right then I should’ve known better and left. There’s many reason why this place is empty.
I was warmly greeted by Stephanie (hair stylist) and Stacey (nail tech). I told them I was looking to get a set of pink and white gel nails, and sat me down immediately.
Everything seemed to be going very well– Laughing, chatting, etc. Stephanie, the hair stylist, offered to give me a partial highlight for $ 55. On a whim, I decided to go for it! I told Stephanie that I specifically wanted «thin, natural highlights». She acknowledged my request and started putting in the highlights.
While my hair was processing, Stacey sat me down and continued to do my nails. She is a little too dremel-​happy. She was grinding off my old set of nails instead of prying them off or soaking them in solution. OUCH. She started putting the new tips on, despite leaving chunks of the old nails that were still attached! I kept pointing out that she «missed part of my nails» and she kept saying something like, «It’s okay. I’ll make them look good for you!» Ugh. I was getting pissed. The white tips she had applied were also very noticeably crooked. I pointed that out as well. Again, she assured me it was fine. Giiiirrrr! What the hell, lady?!
Before she could finish destroying my fingers, it was time for Stephanie to wash out the color. After she washed it all out and blow dried it, I could see that she did EXACTLY what I asked her NOT to do– she gave me chunky, tacky, ORANGE highlights!!! I told her this wasn’t what I wanted, so she offered to fix it. I told her, «No, thanks.» I mean, why would I want you to do my hair again if you can’t even get it right the first time?! UUUUUUGH! I was infuriated at this point. Almost on the verge of tears.
Stacey began to finish applying the gel to my nails as I was explaining to her that I hated my hair. She told me not to worry, that someone else here could fix it (Yeah, no f**king thanks). She starts shaping my nails with the dremel tool, and practically grinds off all the nails she just applied! They’re so thin, they are flimsy! At this point, I stopped her and said, «No more! I’ve had enough. Between my nails looking like I caught them in a wood chipper, and my sh*tty highlights, I’m done! I need to leave!»
As I got my wallet out to pay so I could get the hell out, Stacey told me I owed Stephanie $ 65 for the highlights. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! You told me $ 55 prior to the appointment, and now you’re increasing the amount by $ 10 after royally f*cking my hair and nails up?! They should’ve let me walk out for free.
Do not go here. I have streaky orange hair and uneven, ugly nails now. I wasted $ 90 today!

Called in to ask if they did walk-​ins, and they said yes, but of course, appointments are better. James (stylist) came on the phone and scheduled me for 12:30. I walked over a little early and he was just awesome! None of that slightly uncomfortable stylist-​customer banter!
James was easy to talk to, he knew right away what to do with my hair, and he even had some recommendations for my hair, and referrals for other beauty services.
Sure, price was a little more than what I’ve been paying, but a) literally right around the corner from work, b) easy to talk with, like an old friend catching up, and c) I LOVE MY HAIRCUT! Well worth it.

My friend got several cute haircuts here and I gave it a try. My haircut (from Sara E.) was a disaster — it will take 4 – 5 cuts to get everything back to normal.
The gal who does waxing is super nice and does a good job at a reasonable price.

Adrienne at PJF does an AWESOME job– her hair cuts are super hot and sexy. The salon is extremely clean and relaxed feeling. Great place to chill out.

Where this place is located shocked me a bit. It’s inside a plaza behind mcdonalds. But the great news is Ettore’s bakery is really close by. I highly recommend Rosie to cut your hair because she’s awesome and has had really great training. I don’t color my hair but I did want to «pop,» luckily Rosie is a cutting specialist and she gave my thick hair style. Thanks Rosie

I was visiting a friend who lives in the area and went with her while she was getting her «hair did» and she talked me into getting a new do too.
I’m so happy she did!
My stylist was Rosie and she was great. Very friendly and approachable, and her hair looked great (I find it questionable if a hairstylist has bad hair). During my consultation she listened to my concerns and gave me suggestions without being pushy.
I ended up with a great haircut! I would definitely comeback! Luckily I have a friend to visit when I get a haircut from now on!
The salon is neat and clean, the people are friendly. Its not an overly trendy looking place that plays techno music. (that’s a plus in my book!). They also have Mani and pedi stations.
