The office itself is convenient and appears to be clean. Reception was efficient. Height, weight(from what appeared to be a rejected Gold’s Gym scale), pulse and blood pressure only – no body temperature check, no oxygen saturation test. The practitioner I saw(note my failure to use the word«doctor») had the bedside manner of Donald Trump without the comedic value. I provided a summary of specific symptoms which he said«don’t add up»(whatever that means) and clinched it with«it’s because you’re old». He did not so much as touch me – no checking lymph nodes, no determination whether there was any fluid retention, no «hands on the abdomen». He did not examine my ears, nose, or throat even though many of the symptoms were therein related. He used the office visit time telling me what he wouldn’t/couldn’t do. At my insistence he provided some referrals to specialists, but upon reflection I don’t think I’m interested in seeing anyone this guy would recommend(birds of a feather…).

I am in my 60’s and have never had such medical poor service as I experienced at River Oaks. It was almost impossible to get through to my physician there, Sunita Jain, and, although she is probably a decent doctor, the difficulty in reaching her soured me on the entire relationship. I didn’t get apprised of important test results, my prescriptions were repeatedly called in to the wrong place over a 2 year period, and my calls weren’t returned. Being a patient there was an exercise in frustration. I finally changed health providers and after 2 years have still been unable to get River Oaks to send my medical records to my current physician — despite repeated requests in both writing and via phone messages. AND, Dr. Jain and River Oaks continued to call prescriptions for me in to CVS for 1 ½ years after I ceased to be a patient there! Even after I called them repeatedly to remind them that I was no longer their patient. Not reassuring. A note to LGBT folks, Dr. Jain made some very ignorant and insensitive comments to me during the No on 8 campaign — I would not recommend her as a health care provider for LGBT people.
