I can say that this business is an honest one. I will definitely return.
I brought my 70-​inch pearl necklace in to be restrung. The owner let me know that my necklace did not actually need to be restrung yet. He said that the pearls still felt tight between their knots. Also, what I thought was a fray in the necklace was actually where the finishing knot was tied off. I can now happily wear my necklace again! And I didn’t have to pay a dime.
PS — Yes, if you are wondering. I’m the type of person that wears a 70-​inch pearl necklace frequently.

Syd is the premier jeweler in Sacramento. I took him a picture of a 1920’s Tiffany emerald engagement ring which every other jeweler I went to said was not possible to re-​create, but Syd and his team went above and beyond to make it happen… and SHE loved it! I couldn’t be happier with his work!
If you’re looking for the best possible service and ultimately the best quality jeweler in the Sacramento area, then look no further.

My mother passed down to me a strand of Mikimoto pearls bought when our family was stationed on Japan in the 1950’s. My mother had the choker length Changed to the current 23 inch length by Mikimoto NYC in the 1960’s. Today I took the strand into this shop to have the clasp repaired. Less than 30 seconds Syd informed me theses were not real pearls and etc. I could have showed him the paperwork in my purse. I could have said something. I just left. I won’t be back.

I took a pinkie ring in to have it sized up to a bigger finger size (ring finger). I was told by S. Curtis that they could keep it perfectly round and up-​size it to the right size. The first time I tried to pick it up, it was still too small. They informed me to go any bigger will oval the ring and I gave them permission. When I picked it up, it was obvious to me they hadn’t added any gold. They had stretched my $ 7,200 ring and elongated the existing gold, thinning the shank. This was not what I thought I was paying for, and after wearing the ring a few times I decided I had done the wrong thing and wanted my pinkie ring back. I took it back to them and Mr. Curtis said he would reverse what he did… that it would be perfectly round again and back to the way it was when I originally brought it in. After one week they called. It was NOT the original ring at all. In fact, the jeweler that helped me on site had never even seen my ring, making me wonder who exactly worked on it??? But one thing is for sure… it was an amateur. Moreover, instead of reversing whatever they did, they admittedly snipped my ring and kept the gold. This was how they down-​sized it… admittedly by the jeweler. So… in the end my ring is now less than one millimeter at the bottom, 1.3mm on one side, 1.6mm on the other… it is completely destroyed. I am now paying a real jeweler $ 450 to restore my ring to its original state. It will require some gold, a professional jeweler, and a micrometer (a tool I highly recommend they purchase at S Curtis Jewelers for their jeweler.)

I highly recommend this Jewelry store with 5 stars. I needed to have an heirloom piece of jewelry re-​designed and made into a necklace for my wife. Not only are the owners talented, fair, honest and polite, their business is based on integrity above all else. My experience was so good they have earned my respect, my business and friendship. It is very refreshing these days to see business done this way.

I can’t express enough gratitude towards this wonderful local jewelry store. The owner and designer of my custom wedding band and engagement ring could not have been nicer. He accommodated my every request, including remaking the engagement ring 3 times until it was exactly what I pictured in my head. He offered suggestions on durability, and provided information regarding the best design sturdy enough to last a lifetime. Both my engagement and wedding bands were custom pieces, but the prices were much less than expected, and certainly less than any chain store. I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else when searching for an expert jewelry designer. The staff here is very very nice, and always return calls promptly.

I highly recommend this jewelry store. They do great work! I had my ring sized and when I got it back it fit perfectly. I also had some work done on my wife’s ring, some of the prongs on the ring needed to be fixed which they were able to fix. When I got her ring back it looked brand new (it is 10 years old). The owner Sid is very knowledgeable and seems to really like what he does which is a plus. I always try to business that enjoy what they do. Also if you want or need any custom jewelry then this is the store to go to for that as well.

An update after wearing the ring daily for a few days: the prongs catch on EVERYTHING. I have pulled threads on some of my favorite sweaters, my sheets, and even my couch. I’m still extremely unhappy with the ring and S Curtis hasn’t even tried to remedy any issues with my service.

Syd is a remarkable jeweler. He designed my wife’s wedding ring masterfully. If you need complicated work done, I think he’s the best bet in Sacramento

‘He went to «Syd Curtis» and if your Harley people like us? You will not go wrong! Your lady will be so happy to wear her harley ring… He’s the only man who makes fine jewlery for Hardley Davidson. I joked with my husband a couple years ago, as we were discussing maybe getting married. After which I said well only if it’s a rock and a Harley Davidson ring. I never dreampt I would be getting married or have the most beautfiul ring EVER! But there’s a little drama… Jerry did propose with a goregous 1 carat white gold ring. It has the HD shield with 3 small diamonds in between on the engagement band and wedding band. It was exquisite to say the least and I felt so excited and proud to wear it. I always say «He went to Syd Curtis»…well we’re getting ready to celebrate our second year shortley and about 5 weeks ago, I glanced and my diamond was gone!!! I was sick… Without going thru it all, I called my daughter told her hey I lost my diamond keep your eyes open. I mean what’s the chances? 3 prongs were smashed so obviously something happened although I didn’t feel it… she calls me at 10:30pm the next night and says ‘Mom you’re not going to believe it” and she found my diamond! I went directly over to Syd’s the next morning (so glad he was open Saturday), and loved him the moment I walked in. I handed over my wedding rings, and the diamond out of a piece of tissue. I ride so I told Syd I don’t think this ring is going to work. Jerry is conviced when I pulled my clutch the ring must of turned on my finger. After giving Syd my vision of what I’d like to happen, he said with his eyes twinkling and smiling ok I can do this. Jerry and I walked in there Tuesday, and I was a little nervous because I prayed I was going to at least like it… LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! Syd was exactly on the same page as me and it’s drop dead goregous! I almost started to cry because it’s just so unique and really just the best ever! Thank you Syd!
On another note, Syd has beautiful jewlery that he makes, it’s not only harley. You want a beautiful piece of jewelry please go to his store first! Prices are reasonable, his stones are the best I’ve seen. He puts his heart and soul into his jewelry and it shines thru all his pieces.

We love S. Curtis! After extensive research of jewlers in Sacramento and the Bay Area, my husband chose Syd to design our rings. My husband and Syd worked together to create an original engagement ring. Syd created a wax mold of the future ring, and he brought in a large variety of sapphire stones from which my husband could choose. He extolled the virtues of each, and explained their cut, color, and history. He worked with our price point and created a work of art. When I wanted to make a change on the band of the engagement ring, Syd did so without hesitation. We thought it would take a month to get the ring altered, but Syd was able to make the adjustment within weeks. I am absolutely thrilled with my engagement ring and wedding band! I can’t stop staring at it :)
I was absolutley thrilled when I saw what Syd created for my husband’s band. My husband brought in five or six pictures of rings that had elements of what he liked. Syd took the prized feature of each ring (texture from one, shape from another, size from one more), and created the exact ring my husband had envisioned. I’ve never seen a ring like it!

I had bought my fiancé an engagement ring a few years back at a generic mall store. I didn’t buy a band at the time because the ring had an oval diamond and it was hard to find a band that fit. The ring was pretty but not unique. I could type in oval diamond in google and see a bunch of the same style ring.
My fiancé wanted something personal, vintage and unique and I had no idea where to start. I found S. Curtis online and after reading the reviews I figured I would give it a shot. I brought her ring in and was immediately greeted by the owner (Syd) who sat down and really got to know what I was looking for. He explained all the options to me and showed me ideas of what we could do. He made me feel like I was a long time friend or relative. Syd is so knowledgable and has a way of explaining it in layman’s terms that I didn’t feel the need to look anywhere else.
He took the old engagement ring and we decided to build a new engagement ring and band using the diamonds I already had. I expected this process to cost me a fortune. When I was given the estimate I was extremely pleased at how reasonable it was!
I picked up the Engagement ring and wedding band about 3 weeks later and when I tell you this ring is beautiful, I mean BEAUTIFUL! The craftsmanship is comparable to none! You cant find quality like this anywhere else. Its a great, genuine business that truly takes care of their customers!

My wife’s rather expensive wedding ring needed repairs ~ read about Curtis on Unilocal and decicded to give them a shot at repair. This turned out to be a great decision on my part (don’t always make good ones, according to the wife!) ~ a small jewelry store in East Sac, they were very courteous, helpful and knowledgeable and did a wonderful job repairing her ring at a great price! Wife’s ring looks brand new…
We had a great experience at the store.
So, now the wfie wants to gather up her old gold jewrlry for Curtis to make something knew for her… hmmmmm…stand by for further reviews!

I visited S Curtis Fine Jewelry a while back mainly because someone I really like and respect, Deborah Levin, works there. My wife, Ann has a platinum wedding set, and being how soft platinum is, is regularly bends and gets misshapen.
Everywhere we lived we’ve had to find a jeweler capable of handling a set, soldered together, with a 3.52 ct solitaire and another 1.5 cts of bezel-​cut diamonds.
We did go to a jeweler (heretofore unnamed) but it was always perfunctory, cost us several hundred dollars, and took up to two weeks to get back. To say it was a little «chilly» would be accurate.
Enter S Curtis!
I walked in with Ann and my 12 year old son, Oliver, and Rose greeted us immediately. She seemed willing to help, but not at all pushy. She took the ring and gave us an enthusiastic «of course we can do this, have a seat.» What? Done there on premises? While we waited? It couldn’t POSSIBLY get any better… It did…
Out walked a really kind gentleman… He introduced himself as Syd. He then gently lectured and taught me the ins and outs of platinum jewelry (yes, he gave me a greatly needed scolding, too). It was fascinating. He (with Rose’s assistance) showed us the plethora of great jewelry that was on display and sale there as a result of an estate sale. They gave us times, dates, classifications, answered Oliver’s questions about stone and gem types and hardnesses… I almost thought we were in a school field trip! It was REALLY enjoyable.
We then discussed Ann’s setting (at my request) and options. He said we just missed a customer for whom they did a great setting in white gold. He was able to give us a picture. It was FANTASTIC! We will have Syd and S Curtis do this for us… Perhaps as a Christmas present for Ann.
By the way… NO CHARGE for the ring repair.
Oh, and that they are authorized Rolex repairers (no easy feat), is perfect for this three-​Rolex family!
What truly topped this off was the fact that, once in the car, Ann (notorious for her standoffishness) said, «Well it looks like we’ve finally found our jeweler here!»

My custom made wedding ring broke in half. After shopping around at a couple other stores in town, I brought it here and it was fixed BETTER THAN the original for very little money. My ring was fixed in ways that the other stores told me could not be done unless the whole ring was «rebuilt». None of that here!
The customer service is kind, personal, trusworthy and prompt. I felt listened to and understood. The price quote I was given was shockingly less than the other stores in town and honored to the penny.
I was so happy that I brought two other pices of jewerly in for fixing as well. All jewerly is made/​fixed on premises. All my jewerly was done in a week.
I highly recommend S Curtis Fine Jewerly to anyone. Don’t bother spending anymore time going elsewhere. You will enjoy their beautiful, classy store and pleantly of unique and beautiful custom pieces to admire.

After an exhaustive search to every know chain Jeweler in the Sacramento area, my fiancé stumbled upon Syd’s. She had a very specific idea that she wanted made into an engagement ring and could not find anything she cared for. To be honest she was losing faith that she might actually find something that was unique and even somewhat affordable. We sat down one day with a couple of ideas and pictures and after 15 minutes or so we came up with a ring that was EPIC!!! and the best part was that the ring was roughly a third the price of what any of those lame factory jobs. Honestly I couldn’t be happier with his work and neither can she.
Months later after going through my own trials of trying to find some sort of a ring that I felt I could live with, I ran into a gentleman at a friends wedding. Strangely enough I was drawn to his ring. He told me the manufacturer and we researched it and found that the ring would cost over twice what I spent on my Fiancé’s ring! We decided to visit Syd again to see if he could help us. Again he stepped to the plate and instead of just making the wax model of my ring he just went ahead and built it. Again, the ring is amazing. You would be a fool not visit him.

I’ve been recently engaged and this is where my fiancé got my ring. I wanted a pink sapphire for my center stone and mainstream jewelers we’re baffled when he went looking for the ring. A friend referred him to S. Curtis and they were able to custom build the ring for a must lower price than another well known jeweler. Syd was very kind and worked well with my fiancé to ensure that I got an engagement ring that I would like.
I LOVE the ring! They were able to size it for me within 6 hours and I didn’t have to part from it for very long. The service has been great. Syd also was able to appraise the ring for us, free of charge. And from what I hear they do cleaning. We will for sure be back for our wedding bands!
