This studio has a very warm and homey vibe. The teacher was Kat Sun and the style of the class was vinyasa. Kat was very welcoming and authentic. She gave great subtle cues to help deepen the experience of the poses and she gave options for all levels of ability making it safe for students to pick a level that is appropriate for them. The heat was about 80 which did not feel too warm or too cold. The class had just enough students to feel a sense of community yet space to spread out my arms. Thank you for taking care of me and offering a peaceful vinyasa practice!

Started in the beginners yoga class and love it. I don’t see myself going to any other yoga studio.

Biffy, Annie, Tyler and the team are all awesome yoga teachers. I have studied and taught yoga all over the world and in Sacramento they are my teachers of choice! Their pure love of yoga really shines through and their poses are thoughtful with well-crafted classes. The studio has a delightful ambience and the energy is high. I always leave feeling relaxed and calm. Highly recommended!

This place will feed your soul. I started coming here a few weeks ago and I already know I’ve found my new home. I started going to the Yin Yoga classes and then eventually branched out to the Hatha Flow and Vinyasa yoga. I am still a beginner but enjoy every class I attend. So far my takeaways have been: — Feel comfortable to take any class that interests you, if it is beyond your ability level just do what you can, this is a judgement free zone. — Michael Fong will break you(in the best way) but if you’re a beginner you may want to work up to his class. LOL — Biffy Cotter(owner) is the sweetest human being, I want to be her someday. — Annie Fox was my favorite instructor of Vinyasa so far. Her affirmations fill your soul to the brim! — Isaac is one of the most beautiful human beings I have ever seen. I am looking forward to trying his underground yoga on Saturday nights! — There are many fun workshops that are offered ranging from dietary, restorative, meditative, etc. I am excited to attend several within the next month! I’ve signed up for yoga studios and workout programs before and I’ve been leery of purchasing unlimited passes knowing I may get lazy and not maximize my classes but Yoga Shala draws you in. I crave the classes and feel so rejuvenated once I’ve gone. You should definitely check out the studio, you won’t regret it!

I love Yoga Shala. The teachers here are so nice and warm in their attitude. A variety of classes are offered here from vinyasa to kundalini and from gentle to intense. All the instructors are very good at their job. Their classes don’t just focus on strength and flexibility but also help you get in touch with your spiritual self.

From the moment you walk in the door you feel the positive energy. I have attended classes with all of the teachers and find them knowledgable and AMAZING! They each have a special gift and each class has never disappointed. I would consider myself a beginner even after attending dozens of their classes and the teachers always take the time to adjust me to enhance my pose. I am never intimidated by the advanced fellow students due to the positive atmosphere Yoga Shala provides. They have classes for all levels. I highly recommend Zen Yoga on Wednesday nights with Biffy! A great mid-week treat to yourself. Yoga Shala is a Sacramento treasure!

Yoga Shala is an amazing place where you can let go of your worries and start taking care of yourself in a spiritual practice and exercise! My experience in the yoga classes that I have done has opened my eyes and mind to the beautiful gift that yoga brings, also the instructors are incredible and I will never forget what I learned and I suggest yoga Shala to everyone!

A place you can call home. I started at midtown Yoga Shala 4 years ago and was thrilled when they opened a studio in Arden, closer to my home. Biffy, Annie and Tyler have brought a true light to this community. It is easy to feel a connection here because they nurture the mind, body and soul within every class. Biffy starts her classes with touching gems of spiritual inspirations and provides individual support to those newer to yoga. Her yin and nidra classes are truly restorative. Annie has hands of an angel and reads the energy in the class adapting to find the ‘just right’ challenge. She leads you to right where you need to be in her vinyasa classes and you leave feeling stronger and more connected with yourself. Tyler lights the fire, both physically and spiritually. Amazing how he can teach to beginners and advanced practitioners in the same class(one person may be in a hand stand while the other is in child’s pose). A true art! I have explored other studios but keep coming back to this one because no matter what the day has brought me physically or emotionally, I can always feel comfortable meeting myself right where I am when I walk through the doors of Yoga Shala.

I have been to a few yoga studios and am quite picky. I want a lot out of the experience(everything from a good stretch to a positive vibe from the instructor). The Shala does not dissapoint. Annie and Tyler are my personal favorites. You just aren’t going to find a better yoga practice around. LIke other studios, they have a great deal for first time students. Please do yourself a favor and try this place out.

I’ve done yoga at other places but never felt any connection with them. Then a friend recommended me to Shala about 2 years ago. During that time there was only the midtown location. I love the energy at Shala. VEry welcoming. I definitely feel the love here. I found my yoga spot. 6 months after I moved out of midtown to the Arden area. I could drive to midtown but it was not convenient for me so I pretty much stopped practicing yoga. I was stoked when they opened another location and it happens to be in my neighborhood. They are located in the Whole Foods complex on the Arden Way side. The studio is not as big as the midtown location but still very spacious… same good energy. Plenty of parking. This location has 2 rooms… the reception area and adjacent to it is the yoga room. THere is a shoe rack in the reception area for your shoes and a huge cubed shelf in the yoga room for your personal belongings. There is also a bathroom in the back of the room. The décor is simple and peaceful. This location is mostly taught by Annie and Biffy. Both are really good. I would definitely recommend this place or their midtown location. **New Student ONLY…$ 20 for 20 consecutive days**
