UYE – B2S at the Coin-Op Game Room: Old School Arcade and Fun

Awesome event at an awesome location. I will definitely go back to this bar for good drinks and nostalgic fun.

I have walked by this place, but never walked in. I think if I didn’t have to walk down several fights of stairs I would have walked in long time ago. This is a place you really have to commit to, and not some place you’d just walk by and peek in and then be drawn in to stay awhile.
Last night was the night for me to commit to visit this place. I was meeting a friend at the UYE. The first challenge is parking. You can’t park on K Street where the place is located. This is a complete bummer as K Street isn’t the safest of places. Prior to coming I plotted out I’d park on L Street in front of the Capital. I did not plan for the immense traffic I encountered. I figured by 5:30 things would have cleared. Not my luck at all. I inched along with the fear I’d miss Happy Hour. Just as I was about to give up hope I noticed that there was an opening to my left at the red light, right before the crosswalk. A real space for your everyday Joe. I slid in (L & 10^th) you can’t get any closer. I had 15 min. left till the free parking (6pm) and slid in 35 cents and I was in the green. I trotted on over to the venue with 10 minutes to enjoy Happy Hour.
I pulled up to the bar and took a seat next to a disgruntle person waiting. I excused myself to the potty and returned to the other side, sadden to see the guy still waiting for his order. After filling the order of the 2 guys next to me the waitress took my order. When my pizza arrived I was suddenly blesses with immense service. Two people came by and asked if I wanted pepper flakes and cheese, by number 2 I said yes, as I must need them if they keep asking. Next a bar tender asked me if I liked ranch. He said he had something better then ranch and gave me some, it really was good. I’ve never thought to put ranch on my pizza, but glad I was open to trying new things.
At this time my group arrived and after the pizza was eaten we went out to play Jenga. It’s a great game for a huge group like ours. We also played giant connect 4. Fun, but only works for a group of 4.
I’d come back with a big group again. Thank you everyone for a fun event.

Coin Op was a great setting for a little mixing… great beers and The Simpsons arcade game I haven’t played in well over a decade!

Right On William! for having your UYE at the Coin-​Op Game Room! It brought back a lot of wonderful memories strolling down K Street. I remember watching free movies on Saturday morning at the Fox Theater. It only took 6 Pepsi bottle caps to watch the movies. They had the best Caramel popcorn, red candy apples, and rope licorice!
One of our Unilocal Buddies is about to embark on a journey of a lifetime. Joey B is joining the (USAF).
We are all here to give him our support and to let him know he will be missed!
It was wonderful to see all of our Unilocal Buddies and to also meet new ones!

This place was incredible! Outside tables and chairs and how about the size of their JENGA GAME !(HUGE)
Inside were a huge array of old school pinball machines, 4 person (PAC-​MAN) game, and arcade games all throughout the room. In the middle of the room was a full service bar with TV monitors all around the bar.
This was our first time here and won’t be our last.

Way to go William! Managed to get a bunch of Unilocalers together on a rare night here where there’s not a crap ton of people.
I enjoyed getting the tail end of happy hour, and challenging some friends to a few rounds of the awesome four person pac man game!

Our first time here! So we got lost at first! They carted us oldies can you believe that? It made my day! We had a mission and it was to make it here to support William’s UYE plus a send off for Joey B who’s going into the Air Force in less than two months!
Many familiar faces were here: besides William & Joey, Kenneth K, John H, Manny, Tuan, Jessica, Angeles, Jenny P, Michelangelo, David O, Bridget, Melissa and Colleen.
We were watching some of the above play Giant Jenga. There were two sets of them outside. When it falls it makes a humongous loud crashing noise. Better not to be too close nor in the way bc well you can imagine! Ouchie!
By the way, they check IDs here so you must be 21 and older probably due to the presence of the bar down the stairs inside the coin op room. It always makes for a fun time right? By the way food is a possibility here too though we didn’t take advantage of that neither!
Bc it was a UYE we came for the presence of friends and left good friends. Isn’t that what these UYEs are all about right??? We couldn’t stay long but noticed how it was basically a slow night. That was a huge plus & we were all grateful as a result! Awesome job William; another successful UYE in the books! Thanks for the selfie & group pics; it’s great for the memories:-)

THE SETUP
…okay. It wasn’t THAT bad! Actually the crazy Unilocalers were running around with «loose quarters» (you know, to play the arcade games).
And it was actually ME «destroying buildings», and actually is was a JENGA-​building. I happened to be the (unlucky) one that crashed it — I pulled out a block and *SMASH-​O!* But we built up our Jenga-​structure pretty dam high before it went!

Props to William L. He may be one of our newest Elites in the Sacramento Squad, but he is sure doing a fine job of creating some fun Unofficial Unilocal Events (UYEs), and this was no exception!
