Yee’s Auto Tech

Ok guys. I’ve gone to Yees for like 15 years. They are fantastic in a pinch. Always get me out of trouble and do an overall, thorough check of my older two cars when I bring in for oil change and are always spot on for what I need done. They make me feel safe. I will say they are small shop big overhead pricey. Sometimes I exchange getting higher price on work for convenience but other times I do stuff at lower price chains, like tires and brakes. But Yees is willing to deal if the competition is lower, but sometimes their profit is thin enuff that I have to go somewhere else. They don’t upsell it or push unneeded repairs though. Eileen gillis I trust them.

I’ve been taking my Prius here since 2008. Wes takes great care of my car and is always very accommodating of my timing, Great service and great prices.

Knowledgeable, competent, personable. Reasonably priced. Great guys. Father and son. Address every dilemma, spot every problem, resolve all concerns and deliver on time.
With their support, I maintain a late sportster as well as I maintain myself. The trick, mechanical and personal, is a program of preventive maintenance. They happily handle everything mechanical.
Lastly, they stepped up, after a reasonable scheduling delay, to diagnose and resolve an emergency that suddenly stymied me last summer.
Excellent mechanics, great guys.

I’m the girl who will avoid the auto shop at all costs. I just never feel comfortable there. Besides, the news is rarely good. I live around the corner from Yee’s and decided to give them a try.
Jairus was at the front. When he got busy the owner stepped in to keep the check in process moving along. Both were very friendly and clear (in plain English) about what was going on with my car. Although repairs are only a temporary fix for a head gasket problem, they were done quickly. Looking ahead to the painful experience of used car shopping, I will certainly be looking to Yee’s for advice before choosing a car.

I came here with my husband to get the blinker and battery fixed in our car. Not only did they fix the problem they gave us a great deal and did it in a timely manner. They were very professional and friendly and even called months later for a follow up (excellent customer service) definitely our ‘go to’ place now if anything needs to be done on our car!

These guys ROCK!!! To say the least! I drove up from LA and noticed my car was making a weird noise, called them up and they took me in, they were extremely kind on the phone! Extremely nice when I got there, they drove my car around and took me with them and the sound went away! If I lived out here they would be my go to spot! Highly recommend, great experience!

I took my car in because it was making a noise from the engine, and there was a very rough idle. They had my car for a few hours and called to tell me they couldn’t find the problem, but with my permission, they would keep the car longer. I received a call at the end of the day, saying they figured out it was the engine mounts. I asked for a quote and they couldn’t give me one. Said it varied. I asked them for a ballpark estimate, and they still wouldn’t give me one, said it was difficult. After asking other friends for their opinion, they said to take it to another mechanic who could give me an estimate. I did, and to my surprise, the other mechanic said the engine mounts had a lot of life left and he was happy to give me quote. By the way, the other mechanic took 5 minutes to look at the engine mounts and diagnose. Jarius was super friendly and I have nothing but good things to say about him. I just have some serious doubts about their diagnosing skills and I’m still quite perplexed as to why they couldn’t give me a quote. I wouldn’t feel comfortable taking my car here.

I had been to Yee’s Auto Tech several times because it was convenient and had decent reviews. I thought they were a bit over priced but seemed knowledgeable. The last time when my tires were rotated they failed to torque the front wheel nuts properly. The repercussion of possible having a wheel fall off while driving still scares me. It was most likely an oversight but I will not ever be going back.

I cannot believe this place!!!
I just had my Toyota Prius in for service today. I asked about getting the battery replaced — they said it was about time. They quoted me a price of $ 440 for the battery and installation. I called the Toyota dealer (people who are not known for cheap prices), and they quoted me a price of $ 220 for same battery and installation. When I picked up the car, I complained about being charged an extra $ 220 for this battery. Wes, the owner, said that it was a matter of CONVENIENCE — that most people in Land Park don’t care what they pay for convenient neighborhood car service! Well, I do! I don’t really have that kind of money to waste on unscrupulous auto repair businesses. I guess fleecing your neighbors is OK as long as you call it «convenience».

I received a mailer from Yee’s recently and, coincidentally, my car just started leaking oil (I love how all the major car stuff always happens when I’m super poor). Like a good Unilocal Elite member, I checked out Yee’s reviews and decided to give them a try. I’m apprehensive about visiting a mechanic that I don’t know because I just don’t trust them. This wasn’t the case with Yee’s Auto Tech.
Mr. Yee, Jairus and Louie greeted me warmly when I arrived and immediately got to working on my car. By the time Jairus was done entering my information into the system they already had a diagnosis and were on their way to getting me a quote. I couldn’t believe how fast my car was done! I dropped my car off at 1PM and it was finished at 4:30! Unimaginable turnaround! I was expecting to have them keep my car for a few days not just a few hours!
I got a $ 50 discount because of the flyer that I brought in which was helpful because I had to get a new oil pan and some other parts. I will definitely return to Yee’s next time I need any mechanical repairs or an oil change.

Great shop! Have no doubts on taking your car here. The owner Wes, was really nice and made me feel comfortable and cared for. They even vacuumed my car after a transmission service. They are my new neighborhood shop. Thanks Mr. Yee!

This is the best auto repair shop in the town!
First off we share the same last name and that in itself is awesome and deserved of 5 stars. YEE NATION!
This place is family owned. So they know the importance of family. They are fair in their pricing and they’re friendly to all.
This place always fixes my car problems. Way better than going to any dealer who has always tried to rip me off. So go here if you have your problems with your car. You will not be sorry. You will jump for joy all night long.
There is a nice waiting room for you to chill if you need to chill for awhile as your car gets repaired.
There is parking available as well.
The place is big. But dont expect something like going to some fancy corporate money hoarding auto shop. So this place has its limits. But its family touch is what makes this place awesome and special. You feel like you’re getting the extra care that is needed because they truly want your car to be in the best condition as possible with the best price possible. They don’t try to make up stupid problems and charge you an exponential amount of money. They are there for you always.
So if you are trying to decide where to go to fix your car. Go here. no doubt in my mind. you will be happy. you will be satisfied and you will go around town yelling and shouting how great this place is.
Don’t listen to these negative nancy comments. They don’t know what they are talking about. They’re being picky and stupid. This is the place to go if you want top notch care.

My wife brought her Acura RDX to Yee’s for an oil change and they did a brake inspection, after which they said that her brakes needed to be replaced, which was legitimate. What was not legitimate was that they were going to charge her $ 800 for simply replacing the front and back brake pads and resurfacing the rotors. When she got home and told me about it I called them to see why they were going to charge her so much. The break down was $ 200 for parts (which is reasonable) and $ 600 for labor… for a brake job! I got multiple other quotes which were a little over half of what Yee’s was going to charge. I told them that I was upset because I felt like they were overcharging my wife because she was there alone and did not know a lot about cars. They just said that she got the same price anyone would have gotten. Either way, it’s a ridiculous quote for a brake job and we will not be going back.

We recently purchased a used Nissan Armada and wanted to have a basic inspection done on the vehicle. We tried making an appointment with several Nissan dealerships and they didn’t have many available times and weren’t very friendly or accommodating on the phone. Our friend referred us to Yee’s and they got us in same day! They were friendly, fast and cheaper than the dealership. I would definitely recommend them and I will be going there for my oil changes also… since I’ve been dissatisfied with Jiffy Lube over and over again. Can’t say enough great things about this place!

I got a discount coupon for oil change through the mail, so I decided to give Yee’s Auto Tech a shot instead of going back to Toyota dealership in Roseville. The customer service at Yee’s was okay, but the pricing was unreasonable.
After the oil change, Wes suggested several things to be done for my car (which has about 125 000 miles) — fuel injection service, transmission fluid change, air filter and engine filter change, and servicing rear brakes. I didn’t move forward with his suggestions, and went to the dealership last weekend for a second opinion. Toyota actually didn’t think several things need to be done and can wait till later. In addition, the pricing of all of the services at Toyota was less than Yee’s — some were almost 80% less. Between the average customer service, being overly conservative on what repairs/​maintenance needs to be done, and the high pricing at Yee’s, I doubt that I would go back again.

I took my car to Yee’s to get an unbiased opinion on a potential issue with my car. Although I was only getting their diagnostic opinion, they were extremely helpful. I even called again a week later to discuss the issue and Wes was very helpful. He spent considerable time on the phone and said he would be willing to talk to the insurance company. Wes and everyone at the shop was very nice and should I need to have repairs done I will definitely take my car to them. They’re a family owned business that has been in operation for many years. I think they deserve to be supported!

Avoid this place.
First off, they have the absolute worst parking for the customer. I arrived at 8am and there was only 4 slots, all in use by the owner and the employees. On top of this, the drive up area is barely the width of a house driveway. Good luck trying to drive out and even more luck to you if the traffic at 8am on Freeport will allow you to merge.
Anyhow, I called Yee’s Auto last week and informed them of my problem. I told them that I bought two wheel bearing hub assemblies and I needed them installed. I just wanted a quote for the labor. (I got this information from Superb Auto; They have done a lot of work on my car over the years, but I didn’t like the price they quoted me, so I wanted a second opinion, so I ordered the hub assemblies off the internet, now I need them installed). When I arrived at Yee’s, he didn’t have me down on his calendar, even though I told the guy that I’d be there at 8am on Tuesday. He sounded like he was writing my name down as he repeated my name and said, «8am Tuesday, ok, we’ll see you then!»
We go to check the car and I tell him of the problem. He said it’s probably the tires and then asks me for the keys so he could test drive my car. When he comes back, he says the noise he heard is not associated with the wheel bearings that it’s the tires, and then proceeds to rub the inside of the tires and asks me to feel the tire. I decline, said thank you and left.
Little did Mr Yee know that I had Superb Auto perform a front-​end alignment and rotated the tires from the back to the front. The abnormal wear in the inside of the tires was due to the car not being aligned. The noise I’m experiencing is not due to the tires, and it definitely wasn’t due to the abnormal wear as the noise has been present for quite some time even when the tires were new and even when I had a totally different set of tires on the car. The wheel bearings must have worn out a long time ago due to the car being lowered. Anybody with general auto knowledge (and access to Google) will know that the wheel noice that I’m experiencing is not the tires, nor is it the axle. As a matter of fact, I had Superb Auto install a new axle prior to doing the wheel alignment.
