I am a huge fan of dive bars and I just relocated to this area from Portland. The Zebra club was exactly what I expected from the reviews. Loud, divey, mean people with backwards hats. I was impressed with the bartenders attitude, it was rude and calm at the same time. I like dive bars that have some attitude. The bathroom was suspect at best, it was dirty and smelled like piss. The patrons were drunk and I saw a woman puke on the floor outside on the patio. This is the way that dive bars should be.

I love these guys! I hire them frequently for private sports events and they do an awesome beer garden! Will continue to hire them and do business whenever possible!

Of course i had a couple of days in Sacramento & had to go visit one of my favorite places. Love thr owner Gerry. He never forgets a face. And of course received amazing service from Lisa,&Aimee. But was thrilled to see Johnny & get a few of his spectacular hugs and get his incredible customer service. I never have gone wrong making this a stop on my visits to Sacramento. Love this place.

Don’t go here unless you are the rowdy drunk type.

So this is definitely a dive bar with a lot of regulars. We had breakfast, ham steak and eggs for my husband and I had the special Bananas foster french toast. The ham steak was very thick and moist. My french toast was delicious. Didn’t even need syrup. And our breakfast cost $ 14! That’s it! It IS very loud though but they have some tables on the other side of the bar that are a little quieter. We will be back.

This is my favorite breakfast location in town. I am there almost every weekend enjoying the atmosphere, amazing food(stay away from my hash and eggs! Lol) and friendly service. I highly recommend it to all

I’m giving 5 stars for the Sunday vegetarian tacos. $ 2. If you’re looking for an alternative taco, order the veggie.

If you like overly crowded dive bars filled with rowdy drunk people then this is place is right up your alley! Came here on a Thursday night around 12:00AM and had a hard time maneuvering around people(since everyone was pretty drunk by that time) to even make it to the bar. Luckily, they have two bars available(one inside and another located outside on the patio) with three to four bartenders on staff as well as a few bar backs. Bartenders are usually quick to please(if and when you are able get their attention) as patrons anxiously crowd the bar awaiting their ABSURDLYCHEAP drinks(comparable to the Merc). This alone is probably the MAIN appeal of Zebra Club with a close runner up being the fact there’s no dress code! They even offer late night bites which include fries($ 3), onion rings($ 4), chicken tenders($ 6.50), and hot wings($ 6.50). Their regularly priced food is also insanely cheap as burgers with fries/salad go for $ 6.50-$ 7.00, three egg omelettes with potatoes and toast are $ 6.25, and breakfast items range anywhere from $ 9.50 for a New York steak with eggs to $ 4.25 for a breakfast burrito! I’ve never actually tried their food but it’s so cheap – why not? Although this place gets rather crowded Friday-Sunday nights(they open from 6AM-2AM daily), if I do come here, it’s usually to partake in some pre-club drinking. The overall venue is decently sized so you’ll never feel too claustrophobic– BUT, beware of the belligerent drunks that tend to reveal their true selves by the end of the night! For me, the real downside of coming to Zebra Club is realizing, since this IS a dive bar, DRINKSWILLBESPILLEDONYOU throughout the night with no f**** given – so dress accordingly if you plan on sticking around! The crowd, from what I’ve seen, ranges in age from people in their mid 20’s to early 30’s. Everyone is normally laid back and considerate but I have bumped into a few«unique» individuals who just wouldn’t take«NO,» as an answer. Dress is very informal and relaxed as this place serves as more of a casual get together spot where everyone can sit and chat. Unfortunately, Simon’s is still my top choice when it comes to dive bars as I would probably only come back here to try their brunch — or if my friends insisted.

I love dives. I lived in New York and I really know them. This place is all the dive you want, combined with all the«is that guy a registered sex offender? Is he looking at me?» that you definitely don’t. While waiting for my friend, the(very drunk) owner came over to me and, unsolicited in any way, proceeded to tell me how he was going to «make him my bitch,» referring to his cook. Having worked as a cook, I bristled. About five minutes later, he walked by and pointed at my shirt. I looked(stupid); he flicked my nose. God I hate that crap. Then he said«do you smell sperm?» I said«excuse me?» He said«well, you will.» Anyone who thinks it’s okay to lay a finger on a customer in a way that you might were you at a frat house, doesn’t deserve to own a business, regardless of how divey it is. I can’t believe I let the bartender run my card after that. I guess I felt sorry for him. There are plenty of places in town to get a cheap beer in a divey atmosphere; I don’t recommend that anyone ever set foot in this dump. Unless your a fan of harassment, in which case you’ve probably found your pot of gold.

What an odd little place. You’d never know by the look of it, but they have a huge patio. Or maybe I’m just not very observant. I came here for the second time this past weekend(the first was over the summer and I don’t remember much of that visit… for obvious reasons). Drinks are reasonably priced, and they have a good selection. I’m still wondering why the bartender put 7UP in my whiskey sour, though. They’ve got an internet juke box, which is great fun, except for when some creepy old dude puts on Taylor Swift just to watch all the white girls freak out. If you’re looking for an interesting time at a dive bar, try this place out.

I’ve passed Zebra Club many times and found it difficult to get a read on it. From all outward appearances and reports from friends, it is a dive bar. But then I’ll roll past Zebra sometimes and there will be guys wearing long sleeve dress shirts and girls wearing mini dresses and stilettos walking in. Whaaa? So I’ve been wary about going in. But we finally stopped in last night and luckily it was the dive I hoped for… for that night, at least. There’s a good amount of space inside with plenty of TV’s and a jukebox.(And a LADIES room right next to the WOMEN’s room… decision time, which one am I? Haha) We opted for the back patio which has plenty of seats, another small bar and even more TV’s. Apparently the Zebra is a great option if you’re a sports fan and the game is on. As I walked to my seat I noticed a tortoiseshell cat crossing the patio. My butt barely hit my seat before that cat jumped into my lap, tucked its tail in, rested its chin on my hand(thankfully not my beer-holding hand) and went to sleep. THEREIS A BARCATANDITLOVESME! You win, Zebra Club. You’ve swayed me with your cheap drinks, neighborhood dive atmosphere, and soft lap-claiming kitty.

From a Dive bar perspective this place is a strong Four Stars. We have been coming to Zebra on and off over the years for drinks, after parties, and lately for brunch and lunch. I have got to say they knock out some pretty decent food. Again from the Dive perspective the food has been on point. From the veggie omelet to the steak sandwich to the breakfast burger to the corn beef and hash. All in all no complaints. I only mention the dive perspective because of the use of lots of iceberg lettuce, American cheese but this probably allows for those low ass prices. Almost each breakfast item is under $ 6.75, so add the American cheese please. Drinks are hit and miss. This is a place that being a regular, and being known by name is a plus. Hubby loves that they have a smoking patio with TVs to watch the game or whatever is on. I do want to note I’m not sure how safe that patio roof is, it is clearly rigged but again dive bar perspective it works and serves its purpose. Cheap eats, ok drinks, smoking patio; complete dive bar! Cheers!

I’ve been a fan of Zebra for years; however, I’ve only known it as a bar. Luckily, I had the opportunity to have brunch and watch some football at Zebra this weekend and it was fantastic. Super inexpensive menu, good service even though it was super crowded, and awesome food. I had the chicken fried steak which was nice and crispy, with a superb cream gravy, two eggs, cooked to perfection, accompanied by hashbrowns, and a biscuit on the side. I was definitely surprised by the quality of the food and will be back over and over.

Cold Cold Cheap Cheap Drafts! *Daddy Likey!* SITREP I NEVER come here. But this evening as I was walking up 19th Street — after picking up a few items at the 19th& S Safeway — my iPhone died. SuckS. THESETUP Well, I was standing right in front of the Zebra like a disoriented lump on a log, and my lovely Unilocal-friend Desiree W. caught me here! So why the hell not. Football was on the FIVE(5) screens over the bar(I find that overkill hiLARious, but who am I to judge the *Bright Shiny Syndrome* of others). ;) COORSLIGHT $ 2.25 for a draft pint and here I am just chatting it up, with my computer-pad, having a grand olé time. I think I need to wander around neighborhoods and let my iPhone die more often so I can go into the random dives and have some fun. [My Game of Thrones and Hunger Game DVDs can wait…] :D THELOWDOWN A delicious dive bar with some fantastic happy hour drafts for everyone!

Zebra Club is a bar with plenty of seating, TVs, and food. We came for an early(6am) soccer game and the place reeked of bleach. The game was playing on two TVs in the back, the rest of the TVs had news stations playing. The audio from the news stations over-powered the game… instead of «Score!!» it was more like, «Ebola!!» The bartender appeared to be high, hungover, overly sleepy, or ____.(fill in the blank for other reasons to explain the«I’ve had better days» attitude and look) Now, I’m not saying 6am isn’t CrAzY early to be hitting up a bar, and therefore my hopes were not too high… but the girl couldn’t even make a decent cup of coffee and ordering a Bloody Mary was like asking a bartender at midnight, with a packed house to make 10 mojitos LOL!(bartenders understand this difficult request) Zebra Bar opens everyday at 6am and based on the greetings between this gal and others, this wasn’t her first early shift(smh)
Another bartender, a different time, etc… could of changed my rating, but this is what we experienced…

Ode to Zebra… We’ve been together for almost 14 years now. You haven’t let me down just yet. I mostly enjoy day-drinking with you, but haven’t had a horrible time with you at night. So many improvements… I remember when there were no windows, and the beers were a buck. The bartenders are wonderful to me, and let me get away with murder. Keep it up, and you’ll always have my heart… and my liver…

Zebra is definitely not for everyone. It’s like that friend who if you can get over their loud and usually inappropriate behavior, they’re one of the best friends you can have. The bartender Dave is a silly little man and to describe him as inappropriate doesn’t do him justice. However he isn’t racist. No one is safe and everyone is fair game. The drinks are reasonable and the pours are fair. The breakfasts here are a notch above the normal greasy diners. Be sure to try the corn beef hash or chicken fried steaks. They will fill your belly and cure whatever hangover symptoms you have from the night before.

Aww what’s not to like about the zebra club?! I mean its a dive bar, so I’m not expecting fancy anything, but what I did expect was laid back chill, cheap drinks, and friendly people. I found all three !!! Typical neighborhood bar, with familiar locals and regulars. Bartenders were so awesome. The patrons were fun friendly people. I had a great time… closed the place down on a Thursday night ! Ima fan :)
