Husband & daughter loved their cheeseburgers! Got food pretty fast but waitress was little rude. Will return.

Possibly the best patio in St. Charles, and maybe even St. Louis. During those rare but beautiful days that the Midwest gives us, I crave a good meal on a unique patio. This patio is shaded by beautiful trees and is placed next to a running creek, hence the name. It is an all brick patio with beautifully done string lighting. Though my roast beef sandwich wasn’t too much to write home about, the large beer selection and patio will bring me back.

Service was fast evwn though previous reviews said otherwise. Great beer menu, maybe almost too good to choose one. I had the crabcakes; they were fabulous! My husband had the pulled pork and it was was delicious! It had a great smoked flavor. I think I’d pass on the millfries next time. They weren’t nearly as tasty at I thought they would. Can’t wait to go back during the fall so we can use the back patio. It looked cool, but way too hot to eat out there.

Food is decent to good for the price. Service was a bit slow for this trip at 230pm on a nice Saturday. The outdoor seating area is perfect on a nice day or night. And the beer selection here is pretty extensive. Beers aren’t cheap though. Been here before and I’ll be back from time to time.

4 stars for atmosphere. 2 stars for food. I like the outdoor area and I love the dark cavernous basement for the variety of beer and the not so ordinary juke box tunes.

Their chicken and wild rice soup is a must have! Along with getting a seat outside on a nice day, the ambience is amazing. An awesome beer selection as well. And if you’re feeling up to it, get a pepper shot!

Great Crab Cakes : We started off with crab cakes, ordered up a couple of roast beef sandwiches with whole potatoes and everything was fantastic. The service was great, we was lucky enough to have had Stacey as our waitress and she was right there keeping those tea glasses full. If you ever out in St Charles walking around stop in and give them a try Great outside seating.

Loved this place while visiting St. Charles recently. We had the patio to ourselves. The fall decorations and fire pit made for a romantic setting. The one man band was great and the bartender was friendly. One of our favorite stops on our trip.

I liked it. It was kinda dark inside but the food was good, the service was fast. I had a reuben and mill fries. The reuben was everything a reuben should be. No complaints.

went ~2pm on a Sunday, so it wasn’t busy. really cool outdoor garden/seating area. It was hot out so we sat in the basement bar area. Great food, large beer selection, reasonably priced. I was super stoked that they took my humble request to add bacon to my order: D def will be back

The Old Millstream Inn gets 4 stars primarily because of the picturesque patio. It has an intimate feel as you step down into the patio, which is next to a stream. There is a nice, pleasant breeze from the fan on the side of the building, which keeps the heat away, and there are plenty of trees for shade, umbrella’s are unnecessary. The black wrought iron patio furniture is pleasing as well. It’s a good place to take a date on Main St. in St Charles. They don’t have Corona, but the Pacifico is a nice replacement. The servers are friendly, but it should not have taken 25 minutes for soup and a chicken salad sandwich. Both are already prepared and just need to be poured or assembled. The chicken rice is a tasty soup, and the chicken salad sandwich was generous in size and pleasing. It’s a pleasant place to relax, enjoy the evening, and play with your IPhone, even if you are dining alone. You can even bring your dog here on a leash. If I take my pomeranian, Yappy, here, they bring him a water bowl! How cool is that?

The food was not that great. I had chicken salad sandwich. Nothing special. We sat outside and that was nice. My husband had the clam chowder, he said it was good, could have been a little warmer. Probably wont go back

Terrible all the way around. First, the outside seating, although nice emanated with cigarette smoke which was disgusting. There were at least 5 empty tables available as we waited for 30 minutes to be seated. The«over 100» beers were ALL in bottles. No real descriptions, it was a guessing game if you wanted to try one. Besides, counting almost half of grocery store beers in that collection is nothing to brag about. The service was the saving grace because 2 servers were extremely friendly and accommodating. No issues with the people at all. The food was TERRIBLE. Over-cooked, tiny portion vegetables with no flavor and 2 of the 3 steaks(one prime rib) were well-done. We ordered medium rare. We didn’t send them back as not to waste food. The salad was nothing to speak about but was at least fresh. No vegan options at all for those interested. What a complete waste of time and money. I inhaled the next table’s cigarette smoke for an entire hour. I will not return. I’d rather have sat by the river and bbq’d myself. I’m glad that the people were so kind and we tipped them generously.

Food is pretty good. The beer list is amazing. It isn’t often I can find one ipa I haven’t had, but they had two. Which explains why I’m buzzed, wandering around old st Charles doing. I could spend days on the patio by the creek. Great music playing. A classic rock to alt country mix.

I come here for a bowl of the Chicken and Wold Rice soup. Yum! Thick! Warm! Never enough in the bowl. Well worth the time it takes to write this review.

If u get the Millfries(and you should) see if you can get them with no/low salt. Otherwise, they’re lava-hot starchy salt pills. Or, just drink more beer…6:1. Lunch w/beers: $ 15/person.

Decent bar food. I was very disappointed by the service. Once in a while I splurge for Chimay and the way they served it was so disappointing.(See photo) in no way is that the way you serve this type of expensive Trappist beer. Please don’t ever do that.

Doin’ it right in Saint Chuck! As a resident of Saint Louis City, I don’t venture outside of the city much. However, back in my county days, St. Charles and Main Street were frequently on my social agenda. Two places were always staples on these treks: Trailhead Brewery and Old Mill Stream Inn. My band was getting ready to do a photo shoot one Saturday afternoon. The weather wasn’t cooperating, so we decided on finding a spacious bar where we could find some room to film. My drummer suggested going down to Main Street. Mill Stream was ideal. The bar has many spots to hang out: the main bar downstairs, a second floor area, and a huge patio. The patio really is the best aspect of the bar, but for this photo shoot, it wasn’t truly an option. We arrived close to noon, so the bar wasn’t too busy. In fact, it was empty. We explained to the bartender what we wanted to do, and she was super cool about us filming. The bartender was more than helpful, and she even made suggestions about shots and spots. Needless to say, we were pleased with the photos because of her help. Of course, we did buy a round for using the venue. The beer options are impressive, especially for the area. We each had a unique craft beer to hold as the photographer did her work. I had always thought of Mill Stream as a secondary location to Trailhead, but after seeing their beefed-up beer cooler, we might be able to skip next door on any day. Overall, the experience was awesome! I might have to make heading down St. Charles way a habit.

This is one of the great bar/taverns in St. Charles, Mo. and possibly all of Metro St. Louis. If you want the most diverse selection of bottled beers, come here. If you want the highest quality Scotch Flight selections, come here. If you want a tavern/cellar atmosphere come here. If you want great sandwiches, Millstream fries, come here. If you have an out-of-town guest and you want to take them to a real bar, bring them here.
