My wife and I bought a Certified pre owned Ford Escape recently. very satisfied with the low pressure salesman Joey. We went in somewhat late on a Friday and they all stayed to get the deal done.
It’s a car transaction so nothing is ever perfect but overall experience was professional. Our terms were nearly met and no one got heated or unprofessional. Having had that happen at other dealers, I find it important during a negotiation.
Zimmerman has a large inventory of the Pre-​owned certified cars which I would reccomend if buying new is too expensive. The warranties included with our purchase give nice piece of mind.

We recently purchased a 2014 Ford Fusion from Zimmerman Ford. As most people know, buying a car whether new or used can be a trying experience. However our experience at Zimmerman’s was actually quite pleasant. Our salesperson, Joe, was very professional and went well of of his way to make us feel comfortable. We cannot say enough about the way we treated and how thankful we were to have Joe represent Zimmerman Ford. The price we seemed on was quite fair and we were extremely satisfied with the trade in figure. We have been gone to this Dealership in the past & there is a very good reason they are still doing business all these years later.

I recently bought a 2010 f150 from this dealership. Joey in the used car department was very helpful and answered any questions I had on the spot and knew the truck very well. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase and Joey is always there to answer questions fiver the phone and has been very helpful! Go to this dealer and ask for Joey!

Pretty happy with the dealership. I use the quick lane to get an oil change done. I don’t have to wait long and I get a free car was with it. There’s nothing wrong with free. It’s my favorite price. The price could always be cheaper.

Our experience at Zimmerman Ford was by far the worst car buying experience we have ever had! While the sales person was nice and somewhat knowledgeable, he misrepresented the car my husband was buying. When my husband realized the error a day after purchasing the vehicle, he immediately contacted the dealership to correct the error. The sales person was very helpful in trying to remedy the issue and was able to find a car that had everything he promised my husband. The problem came with the General Manager… He would not honor the discounts that my husband had negotiated on the initial deal and was not even open to discussing the issue. When my husband pointed out that he purchased the car based on incorrect information from the sales person the general manager’s response was a blatant «I don’t care.» We have never been treated so poorly. Clearly this GM does not look out for the best interest of his customers. There are plenty of other Ford dealerships in the area and I would strongly suggest taking your business to one of them.

Don’t go to this dealer unless you have a lot of time. Nothing happens quickly here. Our salesman also gave false information on an option to the vehicle we planned to purchase. (We confirmed this when we purchased the same model at a different location) we came to buy a vehicle. It took forever to get any information, including our trade-​in value, in stock vehicles that fit our criteria, etc. the salesman also tried to steer us into a used vehicle. I was able to search their in– stock inventory from my cell phone. After 60+ minutes, we left in frustration. We had purchase a car from here in the past but don’t think we will go back. We purchased a vehicle, the same evening, from a different location.

Dishonest service team!
I have owned a variety of vehicles: a Honda, Toyota, Mercedes, Acura and Infiniti. Most recently a ford. I make it a habit to service my cars at the dealer because the oil changes last 5k versus 3k and you generally get the impression that the dealer knows your car better than a jiffy lube guy.
I have visited the Ford dealer with my sedan twice within the last month and have been dissatisfied at best. I use the navigation in my car often and have been getting «off route» and «navigation error: see touch screen» error messages recently. The first time I brought it in, Garret, my rep told me that everything checked out fine. After I told him to check the error logs and asked him if it meets Ford manufacturer spec for navigations to malfunction he went back to work and changed some computer. Didn’t help.
I came back a second time to address the same issue — spoiler alert: the following is ridiculous. He told me that they completely wiped my software to zero. Saying «we completely erased the software and booted it from scratch and added needed software» that’s a slight paraphrase but basically I got an entirely new software package for the car «with the latest specs». Just a reminder: my navigation was the issue.
When I got in the car I was shocked that my phone immediately pulled up on the display and started playing my iTunes?! If they had wiped everything I would absolutely have to pair my device again. That’s common sense. What killed me was that after all Garret’s promises of a new navigation software and that old one was wiped clean and updated — the darnedest thing happened. When I clicked through my previous route addresses they were all there!
Basically, they considered me to be an absolute idiot and did nothing. Absolutely nothing. That’s insulting.

I was in one week ago and had a wonderful experience with Joe K! I didn’t feel pressured at all. I did all of my research on the car I wanted so I felt really good about the price I paid. I highly recommend adding on the tire & dent package. With it I feel like I don’t have to park a mile away from any other cars! 1 small negative… The finance man needs to talk a bit slower.

We took our 2002 Excursion here twice — after a few days there is not enough charge in the batteries to start the car. They ran their stock diagnostics on it and found nothing wrong, but clearly there is something wrong if the truck won’t start without a jump. We called a third time and they said they couldn’t help because they didn’t know what was wrong. I give them some kudos for admitting they couldn’t help us, but would have appreciated some additional effort to help troubleshoot the problem. We went to a Ford dealership to get expert help, but beyond stock diagnostics they couldn’t go further than that.

Zimmerman Ford has by far the worst customer service I have ever seen. On two occasions they have done nothing to make me change my mind. My first experience was in 2010 when I went to buy a new Ford Edge. After reaching a deal on this $ 40,000 car, they had to retrieve the vehicle from another dealer. I bought on a Saturday so they told me they would call when it came in Monday. I signed a contract with my payment schedule and also gave a $ 2,000 deposit to secure my purchase. Monday came and no call. I called there that evening and I was told the employee who sold the car to me was not there and no one else can help me — not even a manager! I patiently waited again and no call Tuesday. Again, when I called this employee mysteriously was never there. So no car, but they did cash my $ 2,000. I went in to speak with a manager and he was very rude. He never apologized and even told me that it woud be tough to find me another car like the one I wanted and I would have to pay the fees to get it to Zimmerman. Then he told me it would take ten business days to receive my money back! I ended up going to another ford in west Chicago who treated me wonderfully.
I had an issue with service this week too (two years after my purchase). I smelled a gaseous odor after I had been driving on the highway for about thirty minutes on four occasions. I took it to Zimmerman since I live across the street and was worried to drive it. They told me there was nothing wrong with my car and I basically was imagining it, even though my passengers smelled it too. So I decided to get a second opinion and brought my car to the dealer where i bought it in west Chicago. Thank god I i did. They found the power transfer unit was leaking internally, and it was a $ 3000 repair (covered by warranty). The service manager at the west Chicago dealer gave me a loaner car, and has called to keep me informed of the repairs everyday. I highly recommend them over Zimerman.
If you can’t tell, Zimmerman ford is rude and lazy. Just because you have been in business for a long time doesn’t give you the right to treat customers the way you treated me. You lost a $ 40,000 sale and I will continue to tell everyone I know how terrible your business was to me.

The day after having my vehicle in for work, another problem (apparently unrelated to ANYTHING they did) arose. I took my vehicle back in, and had to pay another $ 300 for work. Not knowing much about cars, I was given a verbal diagnosis from a mechanic friend prior to returning. When I told Herb what I thought was the problem, he RUDELY pushed what I had been told aside, essentially scoffing me. So I dealt with Heidi, whom was much more pleasant. I was lead to believe that it was going to include interior detailing, so I wasn’t so upset about the extra work. BUT when I picked up my vehicle, the interior looked in just as bad of shape as it had prior. Empty promises and underdelivery appears to be their specialty. I’ll take my car to a back-​alley mechanic next time. At least he’ll honestly screw me.

I bought a 2007 Ford Mustang GT at Zimmerman and found the purchase experience to be straightforward and reasonably pleasant. About 2 years after I bought the car it began to have some mechanical problems resulting in an intermittent grinding noise and loss of performance. I live in Chicago so I took it to a local Ford dealer and they repaired what they thought was wrong. Once I had the car back it began to make this horrible noise again. I decided to take it back to where I bought it to have Zimmerman check it out. They couldn’t find the source of the problem but told me to bring it back to them whenever the noise appeared again. The car was noise-​free for 6 months and then it came back! I drove the car to Zimmerman and they promptly began work on it (all without an appointment). They ended up finding the problem and fixing it. No other place could figure it out but them and I am extremely grateful for their help and professionalism.
Herb and the other service team members always treated me right and I recommend Zimmerman to anyone looking for a Ford or a great place to get theirs serviced.

This is a great operation. Our saleman — John LaRiccia was excellent. he was friendly, knowledgeable and made the car buying experience very enjoyable. My g/​f bought a 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid and she was happy with the deal. I was on the lot and had been looking around for a new car — I was leaning towards the Escape as well (non Hybrid) but ended up driving a Ford Fusion Hybrid and it was awesome. I had checked out other cars but this was the first one I really liked outside a BMW. It was a good bit less than the BMW though. I traded in my 2006 Honda CRV and got a solid deal on this loaded car. We both drove away happy.
One of our decision points was to buy american and looking at the various cars — Ford was the clear winner to us. If you are in the market for a new car check this place out. Ask for John LaRiccia (aka Big John) and tell him Craig and Heidi sent you.
