We were very happy — clean and nice. We’ll definitely stay there again. We checked in at 11:30 pm because we got held up 2 hours because of a horrible traffic accident. The couple who came to the window couldn’t have been nicer. We actually wanted a motel without a breakfast because they are close to a Cracker Barrel and we don’t have Cracker Barrels in CA. Great price, but unfortunately we’d booked the room with Expedia and way over paid. We will never use Expedia again. They did reimburse us when we got home, but it was a problem we didn’t want or need.

POOR! The rest is just specifics. We checked in late. Front desk people(3 of them) were rude & dismissive. NO WiFi! Our house lost power during this morning’s storm! WiFi was one of the only 2 reasons we even GOT the room in the first place! The other being Air-conditioning; which only cooled you off if you were standing right in front of it! The TV is an old tube-style TV, & only about 19″, that only receives channels 2 – 13, & the reception is so bad, we turned it off; EVEN with NO WiFi! Beds are hard, curtains don’t close all the way… NOTHAPPY, &NOTCOMINGBACK!

The price was low, but so were the service and amenities. The room was clean and the bed comfy. However, Internet access was nearly nonexistant — so difficult to use it wasn’t worth the hassle. Half the channels on the TV had no sound. Someone came the the next day and jiggled a few cables to «fix» it. There were plenty of towels, but no shampoo or other similar extras. No hair dryer. Breakfast not included, but guests were given a 15% off coupon for Denny’s across the street.(Skip the coupon and go to the Black Bear Diner half a block away — delicious!.) The hotel was being remodelled. Let’s hope it includes increasing the bandwidth.

We stayed there for 2 nights for the labor day weekend, 2013. It was very reasonable(2 night for $ 99 by ) and we basically liked it. The only thing we didn’t enjoy is that the room wasn’t cleaned after the first night. We, as usual, expected the room to be clean by their maid after the first night, so we even left changes on the pillow. After enjoying all day in Zion and Bryce canyon, came back to the room and noticed the maid didn’t even come in. The tips we left on top of the pillow were still there. All the towels we left on the bathroom floor, were still there, the beds were not made, of course. We have stayed at so many small inns like this, but never had experienced something like this before. No matter how many night we stayed, the room was always cleaned after each night. We looked at each other… but oh well, it was pretty late anyway, and we didn’t bother asking them to clean the room. We happened to have our own clean towels from home, and sure, the beds were not made, but it’s not like someone else was sleeping there… Well, staying in a hotel wasn’t our main thing to enjoy for this weekend, so at least we had a place to sleep in and were able to take shower and such. Other than this, it was OK. After all, it was still so cheap for 2 nights, and we appreciated they had a small fridge in the room.(Quite often, small inns don’t even have a fridge)

Claridge Inn is a fairly inexpensive, outdated but clean place to stay in St. George. My husband and I were spending a weekend in April in St. George and wanted to keep our lodging costs down, so this is where we ended up. Pros: All rooms are non-smoking and when we arrived our room was clean and smelled good, no musty old smoke odors. The rooms have a microwave, coffee maker and a decently sized mini-fridge. The Inn is located in an area that has plenty of places to eat, a grocery store nearby and easy access to the freeway. Very friendly staff. The employee working the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The pool and hot tub are open un til 11 pm. No charge for wifi. Cons: The room décor was dated, specifically the tv. The bathroom was missing items I have grown accustomed to expecting in hotel, things like shampoo, body wash and a hair dryer. The people using the pool at the hotel next door were rather loud until about 10 pm. The free wifi was on the slow side. For a place to shower and sleep, Claridge Inn did the trick. If you are looking for a place to stay with more then just the most basic of amenities, continue to look. The next time I am in St. George, I will likely stay elsewhere.

The first thing you learn about booking motel rooms in the spring in St. George, Utah you don’t get what you pay for, you get what the market will bear. We were in and out overnight for a friend’s wedding and decided that since we were only going to spend about 10 hours in the motel we decided to go with the Claridge after finding that our usual B&B was booked. The motel was built in the 1980s. I don’t know that because I saw it being built but because the décor screams it. The online ad says that the room has a flat-screen TV which it does. Flat screen CRT22″ TV but yes, the screen is flat. The bed was comfortable. Definitely a plus for what we wanted. That’s the positive. And the ice machine was very cold. That’s a second. While the motel doesn’t have control over it the pool is unusable until late due to a vast number of very vocal children. The wi-fi is weak as I’ve ever seen and was pretty much unusable. The room did come with an iron and ironing board which were convenient but we also had to drive up the street to K-Mart to buy shampoo. Seriously guys? No shampoo, no shower gel in the bathroom? The Claridge was definitely not worth the $ 75 we paid for the night. It’s just too dated and has no in-room amenities to justify the price. However it’s also spring in St. George when the snowbirds are still in town and the northern Utah/southern Idahoans are hitting the area for the weekend so you will pay $ 75 for a $ 35 room on a Saturday night in April. If you go to St. George this time of year you *will* overpay. That’s just the way the town works. You pay for the weather.

This place is great. Its about twenty bucks more than the Economy Lodge, but is cleaner. I really love the Beijing Buffet next door. The only problem with this hotel is that there isn’t a facility to do laundry. BUT the nice neighbors at the Quality Inn may let you get into their room to do it.
