AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS. I bought a groupon here to get my windows tinted. The first time i called to make an appointment the guy was really short with me and said i need to go online to make an appointment. Well after a while i called again to make my appointment (at that tine the voucher was not expired). The first person said they were completely booked until after the expiration date and that i wouldnt be able to use the voucher. I asked to speak to a manager who rudely said they would take care of it as long as i didnt reschedule the appointment. I agreed and made the appointment for 9am. I called the day before the appt to ask when i could drop off my car. The guy that answered who i believe was the manager was again really impatient and didnt want to answer my questions. He just kept saying theres a dropbox and just to drop off my car whenever. I confirmed that my appt was at 9 and he said it was at 1. Definitely not, i schedule work around this appt and my husband even remembers me making the appt for 9. I was obviously frustrated that the time was wrong and this guy didnt care. Whatever, I’ll make it work. I got there at 1 like I was supposed to. Immediately all the bs surfaced. The tint i paid for had absolutely no warranty (not even if i found something wrong with it the same day as the install) and he told me it would definitely bubble if i dint pay the extra. To upgrade was another $ 100 on top of the $ 80 additional i had already paid to get the small windows in back and the brow. Fine, you win, i left my keys and went to get lunch. 20 minutes later i get a call. «How did you expect us to tint with all this in your backseat?» Was the first thing said. (I had a few clothes in the back from doing laundry, not alot at all though). I told him that he could put them in the trunk and he responded with «No, you can come back up here and put them in the trunk yourself». He continued to tell me that i should have known and this was my responsibility. As i told him, ive never had my windows tinted and have no idea what the process is. I told him you should really tell people that before they hand over the keys. He continued to argue and i told him id be there. We headed back up, at that point they had the car for over an hour. It was still parked where i left it, they hadnt even started. When i got out he handed me the keys and told me to either reschedule or call groupon and get my money back, no apology no nothing. I called Custom Sounds after i left, got my car in that day and the upgraded tint was guaranteed for a lifetime and cost the same as the basic from A Team.
I can get past the bait and switch, but there is no reason someone should talk to me as rudely as that man did when I’m paying him money! This was a nightmare from the beginning and I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. I’ve bought tons from Groupon, this is the first issue ive ever had and im still working on getting my money back because after i left the shop the jerk cashed my voucher!

This review relates only to the service and ethics of the business, not to the quality of work of which I can not attest to as I walked out.
Let me preface this with the owner attempts to rebut those who had a bad experience using livingsocial/​Groupon or other third-​party by suggesting that he lists his restrictions with respect to these deals in the advert.
1.) Nowhere does it read that he will not warranty his very own work unless one purchases the ‘upgrade’ tint rather than the one that is offered as part of the coupon.
2.) As soon as he saw I drive a BMW, he immediately said that I needed to upgrade.
3.) He would not even apply the $ 95 I had already spent to the cost of the ‘upgrade’
The deal breaker here is that he will not in any way warranty his work if you do a Groupon or Livingsocial deal. I’ve never had tint that did not require some minor adjustment after the fact, so taking this would be foolish.
After I walked out, he cashed in the living social deal before I had even made it back to my car. Living Social did an outstanding job in investigating him and intervened to cancel this after he had cashed it. I was lucky to get my nearly $ 100 bucks back, only thanks to Living Social and certainly not the ethics of the owner.
He also complains that offering his ‘best’ tint would be insane for this price. Fair enough, but he is choosing to not warranty his own work and fails to properly convey his true terms until one is onsite and ‘locked in’ to his deal.
He has proven to lack ethics, be disreputable, and tries to pressure and force customers into a scum bag bait and switch to a more expensive product. He can avoid these problems by simply stating these terms in the third-​party deal. I presume he won’t though as I’m sure he secures a lot of business this way.
There are better options. Avoid this shop.

I happened to pick this place cause is was close. So when I went in I had to deal with the owner which I may say I’ve never met a more rude and disrespectful person who will try and pressure you into an «upgrade» for a fee. Also he said there would be no guarantee on the workmanship or the product on my purchase unless I bought the «upgrade». Anyways my point is that man is no businessman he is a con artist with a garage. Oh and reading from past comments I can already tell that the owner will try and «defend» himself which is almost as pathetic as his business, I’ve heard better rebuttals from confused children. The way the establishment continues to exist is beyond me. The way this man does business is unconscionable.

I made an appointment to get my windows tinted and had purchased a groupon for five windows to be tinted. First things first, when my husband called to make the appointment after the purchase, the person on the phone acted like he was a pain in the neck for calling. Okay, having a bad day i guess. Went on line to make the appointment, as instructed. When I showed up there this morning, the worker was rude to the point of not explaining the difference in the warranties on products and the no guarantee on workmanship with the basic grade of film to tint the windows. It was like pulling teeth to get an answer from this guy. I was on the phone with my husband asking and answering his questions, being the middle man. I asked him to talk to my husband, he got on the phone with him and my husband was asking him why he wasn’t guaranteeing his workmanship at least and he didn’t answer and handed the phone back to me while I could still hear my husband talking. I told him to pull my car out before any services were rendered. He blamed it on Groupon for taking 50 percent of the cost. I’m sorry but that is the agreement you made with Groupon not me as a consumer. I should not receive an inferior product. I came straight home afterwards and called Groupon to receive a refund on my purchase and he redeemed it with Groupon before I got home. He knew he did not tint the windows on my car and he redeemed it anyway.

I read the reviews on Unilocal but went here anyhow glad I did. I was looking to save a little money and seen there was a groupon for here instead of purchasing the groupon though I called to verify what it entitled and was told with what I wanted what the add on fees would be up front before I purchased it. If what you have is five windows that you want standard 35% shading on them by all means but the groupon but I wanted darker on the back Windows so I negotiated rather fairly and got my civic done for over 80 dollars cheaper than competitors. I am happy with the tint job and have been getting lots of compliments on the job. My experience here was fine and I will be back to get details done on car soon.

Purchased a deal through Living Social for a 5 window tinting package. When I got there the worker was rude and short with me. We went outside to look at my car and he asked which 5 windows I wanted tinting… I assumed it would just be the 4 main window and my back window. Little did I know, they considered the tiny little windows on the back doors as «full windows». Really? So, now I was looking at tinting 7 windows. He said it’d be an additional $ 20 for each tiny window… so $ 40 extra. Ok whatever… Then I discovered that I could only have 35% tint on the entire car unless I wanted to spend $ 60 extra on each window over the 35%. In Missouri the front two windows have to be 35% but the back don’t have a limit. So in order to get the back two doors and back glass done the way I wanted, it would have cost me an additional $ 340. I left and decided to get a refund credit through Living Social. What really sucked was I wasted a day off work to get this done and all the guy did was try to up-​sell me. I went somewhere else and got my car done the exact way I wanted for $ 125, the same price I spent on this Living Social deal.
I wouldn’t take my car there unless you’re willing to pay more than expected.

This was my first experience getting a vehicle detailed. I bought a deal on groupon /​amazon local deals. The on-​line appointment book worked well. When the snow hit the day before my appointment, I left a message as to if they would still do the work and Charles was very responsive and they agreed to do the work or let me reschedule. I kept the appointment.
My truck was clean and shiny upon pick up. They reviewed the vehicle with me. I was hoping some of the stains in the seats would have cleaned up better, but I don’t know if that was a realistic expectation since the stains have been there a while.
The staff was very nice, but I was a bit surprised when at the very end they said that I owed another $ 20 due to my vehicle being a truck. I’m not surprised that a truck would cost a little more, but the deal didn’t spell that out anywhere.

Thanks for pointing out that the voucher did indicate an extra charge for trucks. My oversight.

I purchased a Groupon for detailing and finally got sick of my mom complaining that my car was dirty, so made an appointment. Getting one for the mobile side was impossible, but I managed to schedule via Groupon (very conveniently) to drop off my car. I was a bit worried, seeing the reviews from other Groupon customers.
I dropped off my car and left my phone number for them to call when complete. It only took 2 hours, so I was a bit worried that the job wouldn’t be thorough. However, when I picked it up, I was very pleasantly surprised. They had me check it out and I was happy with it. I gave them a tip for their work, as it was before the holidays and a good job. I had the interior and exterior detailed and both looked great, and the car smelled fresh.
I’ve had my car detailed before and I think they did about the same job. The only thing they didn’t do was shampoo the seats (they did shampoo the mats). I do think they did some spot treatment though, because I had some stains that are gone or lessened.
I would go here again. My husband and mom noticed how clean it was! Now if I can only keep it that way!

Had paint can spill in back of pickup truck. Charles told me to come straight in, and they had the mess cleaned up fast while I had a nice glass of wine at the Italian restaurant next door. They were a lifesaver.

Please read A Team’s response to the negative (and honest) review I left on 09/​20, and decide for yourself if you think this is how professionals deal with customer service — NOT TO MENTION the inaccuracies of Charles W.‘s response:
– that I called to move my appointment last minute — but it was in fact more than a day in advance, and I was completely open to any time within the next week. It was A Team’s suggestion that I bring in my car ANY TIME before noon that day (and confirmed such on a follow-​up call that I placed when I was on my way to the shop). On the phone Charles implied that I was moving up my appointment and never said anything like, «We’ll try to fit you in.» I would have never taken 2+ hours out of my workday for something that precarious. And,
– the blatantly discriminatory and ridiculous claim that because I am a transplant to St. Louis, I am not «reasonable.» Need I say more?
This business’ customer service is a joke.

I’ve had a few details done on our two cars by A Team. Some mobile, and one where I took my car out to their place. I was very pleased every time. I have 3 kids and 3 car seats in our SUV so it tends to get really messy and we don’t have it cleaned often enough. Needless to say, it’s always quite a job to get all the crumbs and gunk out. They spend a good while on the cars but it’s worth the wait. They always look (and smell!) so much better afterwards. I recently moved out of the city and thought to jump on here and leave a review after spending a bit more for a detail in my new town. Anyhow, A+ for both the work and customer service.

Probably the worst detail place I’ve been to. I bought two groupons for the economy detail service. I called for an appt and got one reserved 3 weeks later. When I got there, there was only one dude working in the garage. He smelled of alcohol and weed. An hour later, real fast, the service was done. I drove off without doing a full inspection. Needless to say, nothing was done to my car. Besides spraying some scent in the car to make it smell nice, nothing was done. I guess I’ll just wipe my ass with the second groupon, NEVER come back there again.

I bought a full service mobile detail package from the A-​Team through a living social deal. I was pretty excited to get a car detailing that was more in depth than your normal job. I try to get my vehicle waxed once a summer, and was really excited when I saw a deal for one ($ 80 for a $ 160 auto detail).
When I called for an appointment, I had to wait a month to get them out to my place, because their mobile detail service is booked so far out on the weekends and … I go to work during the week… But hey, I figured it might be worth the wait. I was wrong.
A «full service detail» that was supposed to include a waxing and oxidation removal was really just a good hand washing, and a thorough cleaning of the interior. There were still a couple bug marks on the front grill, and if they did put a coat of wax on it, it was extremely thin and done in haste.
The only reason I’m giving two stars is because the guys that came out seemed like really good kids, very polite and they did work fast. But how can you wash/​dry detail and wax a full size SUV in 45 minutes? The short answer: they didn’t.
They also didn’t get a lot of the «hard to get to crap» in the interior. Anyone can wipe down and vacuum out an interior, you shouldn’t pay a premium for that. There were a lot of hard to get to places that they didn’t get to. It was obvious and I was disappointed. I have leather interior, but they didn’t apply any type of conditioner to it either, another sad result.
This business puts out deals on local social media sites quite often, as I’ve seen other coupons they’ve advertised, but I would suggest avoiding them altogether. Even at the half price special of $ 80 I did not in any feel I got my money’s worth, and could have gotten just the same at a Water Way drive through. I’ll now be going out and waxing the truck myself today, sorry that I wasted $ 80, even at half price.
