Had the Irish Beef Stew in a bread bowl. I wasn’t too excited about the cole slaw but I’m more of a slaw made from mayo fan and this is not that type. The service was prompt and the waitress was attentive. Dinner mate had the fish and chips(french fries not the actual homemade chips) and he said it was very good.

Went there this week before Blues game. Everything was great! Valet parking, food, drinks, service & shuttle. The food had a fresh restaurant quality vs. bar food. There was a limited«event» menu but still a good variety, and the kitchen did make an appetizer for us by request from the regular menu. Prices were extremely reasonable. Restroom was sparkling clean. Great place to gather before game!

Got drinks before a Blues game. Plenty of seating and overall space in the bar area. Service was quick and the drink prices were quite cheap given overall proximity to the ice arena. Food looked decent, and there were a good amount of TVs broadcasting different events.

Someone had told me some time last year that this place is great for food and drinks before a Blues game. I had completely forgotten all about it and since I don’t frequent bars, it never made it to my bookmarked places to visit. On Tuesday, we stumbled upon this place for a pre-game dinner. The dining area was already somewhat crowded at around 5pm but got a table quickly and got some things ordered. The drinks came fast and so did the food. I ordered some corned beef and cabbage and it was pretty good. The first few bites were a little on the salty side but I would definitely not classify the food as bland or lacking any sort of flavor. It also came with some potatoes. I ate a few bites of the potatoes but I think the corned beef was quite good. They were thinly sliced but were plentiful. The serving was enough for 2 meals and a snack but unfortunately, Scottrade Center frowns upon bringing leftovers to the event so I had to reluctantly tell them to just take the food away. I sadly watched my plate at least 60% full of food as it got taken away. The service was quick and friendly. The facility was clean and up to acceptable standards, however, I did not check out the bathroom. The best thing about the visit here is you can valet park your car, get the ticket validated by your server and your parking is free. They also have a shuttle service that will take you to and from the game but since it wasn’t terribly cold on Tuesday, I walked. As a result, I did not know which shuttle was actually theirs and walked on the way back as well(I did look around for a shuttle with their name on it and couldn’t find it and did not want to cross the busy Market street where 2 or more shuttles are parked). Honestly, it’s only about 3 or 4 blocks away so it wasn’t a big deal. There was only 1 person working the valet parking but he was quickly running around, driving vehicles up to the owners and running back to get the next. He has a pretty good system for running a one-man show. The wait was less than 5 minutes with 3 people ahead.

Cheap beer, great bartenders, large portions. Convenient to Union Station, and isn’t as chilly and sterile as the lobby bar at the Doubletree.

I have loved the O –henn-essy dish here for 15yrs! Still tastes great! Seriously, why can they clean the damn place. It’s a shame. I hate to send out-of-town friends because it looks like crap but the food is great. I’d hate to see the kitchen.

Good people. Starving and ran here during a storm when our cab was a no show. Got inside and found the kitchen was closed. Soaking wet and exhausted they brought us a towel and offered to drop some food for us. Totally cool. Got the wings. Good stuff, great people.

Asked for recommendation at front desk of our hotel and OBriens was recommended and a fave was Shamrock steak sandwich. We ordered it. It was delish! Also had beer cheese soup, very good !! Service was friendly, prompt, and courteous. Would definitely recommend.

Service was pretty good but you would expect to see Irish food on the menu considering it is an «IRISHPUB» but they have Hot Wings, Onion Rings, Burgers, Pizza and«Rueben’s» BTW, those are German. Putting an O’ in front of the name doesn’t make it Irish.

I ate here recently and while the food was fine, it wasn’t anything special. I was really disappointed in the service. There was hardly any customers in the restaurant but the servers barely paid attention. We had to ask other servers to refill water and bring us ketchup, etc. I was not impressed.

Very good barbecued chicken wings and the atmosphere was like a friendly neighborhood bar, not like a downtown area tourist feel. Rhey had a whole wall full of beers to choose from. The service was attentive and helpful as well as prompt. There were two parts to the bar/restaurant and both had a good feel. The restaurant faced the main street and you could see the nightlife.

A very short walk from Union Station. In fact it takes longer to walk from my room at the hotel to the hotel front door than from union Station’s front door to this restaurant’s front door. Seeing the other reviews, I’m cautious if a place doesn’t earn 4 or more stars. But sometimes people have a bad experience and their one star rating brings the average rating down. Sometimes unfairly. I have to say the shepherds pie was delicious and I would return for that alone. I had never tried 321 beer but gave it a shot since they were out of Stella. How this place could improve: discourage the panhandler from hanging out nearby. That was my first impression which wasn’t the best. I’ve been to St Louis dozens and dozens of times but mostly near Busch stadium. This part of town I would not walk alone in if it were late and nobody was around. And I’m a male whom people tell looks like a cop. Inside, the staff is friendly. At first I was seated near the kitchen and asked if I could move near the front window. The server was smiling and friendly, always a plus. However she never checked back with me until I was entirely finished with my food and beer. And then she never asked how things were, only if I wanted another beer. If I’m back in this area I will come back… If the homeless guy isn’t asking me for money.

Funny thing is we missed an exit on our way to a meeting. We pulled off 40 and there it was. Rather than get back on the highway, we had some time so we went in for lunch. I am a big fan of a Ruben. If its on the menu and i haven’t eaten there before, that is always what i will get. They did not disappoint. It was piled high but not so high you cant eat it. Good amount of sauerkraut. Nicely toasted bun. Will deffinetly return.

Sheppard pie is not baked. The mashed potatoes come out of a tube swirled on top of the«soup base». Flavor is ok. Presentation is lacking.

We were looking for a restaurant close to the Upper Limits Climbing, we stumbled into Maggie O’Brien’s. It was 6 o’clock on a Sat night and they only had 3 tables full of people and no one was at the bar. This worried be a little bit. Our waitress was very attentive, since she wanted to keep busy. I wanted a glass of Moscato, nope try again. I settled on a glass on Chardonnay, I really wish I was a beer drinker because they had a chalk board full of beer options. My friend ordered a Guinness, he was pleased. I ordered the turkey club and fries. My friend ordered the burger, it is his goal to try burgers in as many places as possible. The food was delivered fast and hot. My turkey club was too much to eat, I love when I can take home left overs. My friend said his burger rated 5th on his list… I thought that was pretty good.

I just had lunch with a group at Maggie OBrien’s. I ordered a pizza, after eating two small pieces I found a hair melted in the cheese, I informed the waiter and he said he spoke to his Manager and she will take it off our bill. He took the pizza, never ordered me another one and 15 mins. later when I inquired about it he said Oh did you want to order something else? I know this restaurant has been in business long enough to know how to handle such a problem. So I guess they considered it a favor to take my lunch and then to take it off my bill, How courteous of them. Tam St. Louis

Good stuff. Menu is excellent and fairly priced. Atmosphere is laid back, but not grimy. I wouldn’t hesitate to take a date here, provided it’s not late in the evening and there isn’t a major sporting event going on. I say that because, while the bar has a very mellow atmosphere and yummy menu, this place gets packed and rowdy when a Blues or Cards game is on. I’ve been here several times, and haven’t once been disappointed.

This is a hard one to write… If you are visiting STL avoid this place… find something more authentic to our city. If you are going to a Cardinal Baseball Game and need a Free Shuttle, stop in for drinks and a shuttle ticket. If you are part of a large group that needs a private room and separate checks– book with Maggie’s. We have been using Maggie’s for years in a group I am in for get togethers and meals. The staff is always helpful and food comes out fast considering the number of orders placed. Separate checks do not phase the waitstaff at Maggie’s. We can hang out for hours in the back room and no one bothers us. The back room has A/V hook ups, a private bar, and ample space for 100 people. The food is not really all that Irish, or flavorful, but it is filling. Just okay bar food if you ask me. The drinks stand out… Maggie’s is more of a bar than anything else. If they ever renovated their bathrooms I could go up a star. I am sure they are overused and abused by the late night drinking crowd but… please do something for your restaurant patrons.
