Description

Specialties

We specialize in comfort. Comfort food. Comfort beers. Comfort Drinks.

We like to think that we have created a place that anyone, from any walk of life, can grab a seat and relax. It really is just that simple for us.

We also have private event space at our Locust location. If you’re in need of something other than your typical box banquet facility, give us a shout.

History

Established in 2005.

Tin Can Tavern & Grille was founded in 2005. We started with the basic premise that people like canned beer. All kinds of canned beer. Over time, we’ve managed to come up with over 95 different choices of canned beverages available daily.

Next, we had to compose a food menu to compliement the spirit of our beer menu. Simple, yet diverse, and comfortable. A hybrid of American Homestyle dishes and bar food with a few twists. It’s comfort food. We really enjoyed creating the food menu.

The accolades (Best Mac & Cheese, Best Burger, Best Grilled Cheese) we have received for our food are simply the icing on the cake.

What we enjoy most of all about Tin Can Tavern are the people. The diverse crowd from as far as Wentzville and as close as a block away is what makes Tin Can Tavern what it is and what we hoped it would be. It’s comfortable and our patrons are loyal. We’re loyal to them as well.

So welcome and thank you for checking out Tin Can Tavern & Grille. We hope to see you soon!

Meet the Business Owner

Josh A.

Business Owner

I started in the restaurant business at age 19, working as a bus boy and server for European Café, an Italian bistro in U. City. After moving through the ranks in a short time, I found myself as the General Manager of European Café at the age of 21 (which is way too young to be in charge of anything). In 1995, I restarted my restaurant career with Freddie Froghammer’s, a local favorite bar and grill in Des Peres, Mo. In 1997, the owners of Freddie Froghammers, Chris Marshall and Chip Grote, decided to purchase the local restaurant icon, Llywelyn’s Pub. I was hired to the position of Executive Chef for Llywelyn’s. After serving in that position for 3 years, I was promoted to General Manager of Llywelyn’s Pub. I went on to serve as District Manager for the restaurant, overseeing their expansion to Westport Plaza and Webster Groves, and the day-to-day operations of all three locations until my departure to open Tin Can.
