This place knows how to do chocolate! It’s not your Godiva or lindt filled with extra sugary creamy extra stuff. It’s purely chocolate and it is DEVINE. I usually like dark chocolate and my favorite here is the 8?%(I can’t remember the exact percentage). It wasn’t as bitter as I thought it would be, in fact it was amazing. I did try the 9?% and that was a little strong for me, but still good. I recommend the whiskey flavored truffles if they have them.

I live within walking distance of legacy, and let me tell you, if you need a choco-fix, then run, don’t walk, to legacy chocolates. everything here, is hand-crafted, using only the freshest, finest ingredients… whitman’s, fanny farmer, abdalah’s, mrs. see’s…fuggedabout it… this here, is the real deal!!.be forewarned though… they are damn spendy chocolates, to be sure, but one bite, and you won’t give a rat’s azz, to where the money went!.are their ingredients local… that i cannot say, although locavores might want to check into it. parking is streetside, and limited. these folks that make legacy chocolates, are masters of their craft… enthusiasticaly recommended!!.

Yummmmmm… All types of truffles make up this little shop. The owner will help you pick out one that’s right for you and can tell you the cocoa content of each one, and what that means. Maybe you should go next door to Izzy’s to round out your sweet run.

Legacy chocolate makes the best truffles ever… I first went to the Menomonee, WI location and fell in love with this rich dark chocolate flavor(they do have blends with less cocoa if you’re afriad of the dark stuff). The 99% double truffle has a perfect, nice smooth flavor that I have not found before. On a trip to Minnesota to see my best friend from college, I made her take me on a wild goose chase to find this. Once we were there it was like we were meant to stumble upon this little place. We’re both Technical Designers in the apparel/home industry and the woman working was wearing a jacket that I worked on and on the little bench in the store there were pillows that she worked on. It was odd, we’ve never even encounted anything like that since we work at places very far apart(Milwaukee v. Minneapolis). Not that it has anything to do with the place it was a very odd coincidence. Just go, check it out!!! The cases of truffles seem overwhelming but the people there do a great job of explaining. Just let them know what you like and they can steer you in the right direction. Now I need to convince them to come to Milwaukee so I don’t have to travel so far for my fix!
