Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport – MSP

A very easy to navigate airport. Checking in to my flight was easy and getting through TSA was a breeze. It is not a large airport but it has nice stores to spend some time before boarding. I spent about an hour in a bookstore, which was nice.

Check in and security went great and quickly! There’s charging stations everywhere and the airport is very easy to navigate.
They do need more sit down (not fast food restaurants) nearly every place we tried to stop and eat/​grab a drink had an hour long wait.

First time at MSP airport. Very clean, very well organized. iPads everywhere for free! Very accommodating to all.
Lots of healthy food alternatives from FROYO to smoothies, salads, and your traditional sandwiches of all kinds.
No Starbucks, but Caribou Coffee throughout. Flying Delta and am impressed with their ability and organization.
Being from Chicago it doesn’t take much to impress but I must say MSP is a very nice airport with friendly staff and great food options. Couldn’t ask for more while waiting to board a flight.

When I fly to WA, this is my favorite connecting airport. It gets me to GEG in a shorter time than flying out of DEN. It’s a large airport with many concourses and gates. Plenty of places to eat, shop, and rest.
Restrooms are always clean.
My only complain is the walking, and I like to walk. Depending on what gate you arrive, you may have to do a lot of walking. I try to get my connecting flight with enough layover time because you could miss your flight.
I fly Delta and they are always on time.

It’s a pretty nice airport as far as airports go, also probably the friendliest. Not to mention most helpful. We showed up for our flight got our boarding passes and headed toward TSA. The TSA line was moving pretty fast. So, to keep the line moving, I showed my ID and then threw it into my bag and put on bag on the conveyor belt for the x-​ray machine. Biggest mistake you can ever do. Always, always put your ID away IN your wallet, even if the TSA line is huge. Well, I picked up my bag on the other side, and while I was waiting for my fiancé, I went to get my ID and boarding pass out of my bag and guess what’s not in my bag. I go through my wallet, my entire bag, still nothing (for the record, I did have my passport as well, so technically, I still could have boarded my flight). I finally, almost in tears (and forgetting I did have a back up), go to the TSA lady and tell her my dilemma. I expected her to say, «tough luck,» and just move on. Instead, she loudly announced, «WE GOT A LOST ID!» Someone came over and asked which machine I went through, crawling on his heads and knees on the ground, half crawled into the x-​ray machine, finally, my ID was found! YAY!!!
The rest of the airport is okay. My fiancé had told me he loved this airport, but it seemed they were doing a lot of construction and work on the terminal, so there wasn’t a whole lot to see. We had breakfast at one of the cafes, and it was sort of what I expected. Just overpriced, okay food. I did like the charging stations they have and the waiting area was pretty clean as well.

I had a layover at this airport after returning from Paris. I was worried I would not make my connection due to having to go through immigration/​customs/​screening yet this airport was very efficient! Lines at immigration moved pretty rapidly and I was happy they had their own TSA screening area for people coming off the international flights so I avoided those long TSA lines. After finally passing security I was eager to find a screen monitor to find my gate number and when I found one there was an employee already there assisting all of us that were making connections. I hope my first impressions of this airport won’t let me down if I ever fly there again!

Easily navigable, plenty of restrooms and restaurants, good seating at the gates while you wait to board.

Nice airport projecting a modern, high-​tech image. The seating area at the Delta/​KLM gates come with mobile charging stations and tablets with apps allowing passengers to order meals and pass their time shopping, playing games, getting the latest news and even apply for credit cards.
The only problem is that during peak times the waiting areas can get really crowded and some people have a hard time finding a place to sit.
Pro: Modern and high-​tech. Nicely-​designed waiting areas with WiFi access and mobile charging stations.
Con: Lack of seating and area for accommodating waiting passengers

Cool and clean airport. Multiple charging stations and restrooms and also some retail stores.

Ok, so this is the nicest airport I have been to so far. It does sprawl a bit, so if you are at gate G22 you have a bit of a walk. But, the shops are nice, restrooms are clean, and there are plenty of places to eat while waiting for your flight.
Definitely makes flying into MSP enjoyable!

Clean, modern, nicely laid out, it’s a good airport as far as airports go. Found a little area that was showing short local films so that was entertaining…
If you’re going to have carpet in the airport, have moving walkways so indoor have to try to drag my suitcase against the carpet friction. MSP had moving walkways and that was a good thing.

Since MSP remodeled awhile ago they have really improved the look and the feeling. Going through the security check out has always been painless for me and quite quick. When you get into the main parts of the airport there’s so many restaurants and shops it’s awesome. I also love the abundance of charging stations too .
The bathrooms were also remodeled in several areas which is a big plus when you’re out and about. I try to fly out of Terminal 1 because of how nice it is.

Stayed here for an hour due to our layover and I thought it was the fanciest, cleanest, and healthiest airport. Everything seemed to have a modern flare with iPads at the booths where food was being served. They also had iPads available for people to use while waiting for their flight. The tables/​booths used for people to eat on or wait for the flight all had an outlet to charge their electronics. There was also a lot of healthy food spots to choose from.

Ah, what happened here? Usually everything is super fast when I fly in or out, the security was always minimal especially compared to LAX. However at four in the morning on a Sunday, I really expected this to be a fast check in through security.
I was wrong.
Go two hours early before your flight which luckily I did because someone warned me how bad it was here but I was a bit skeptical. They seem to be changing their policy here and there is only ONE check in for ALL gates. The line was very long and I waited for an hour just to get through the line. Check in online for your flight and bags so you can save a few steps. If you didn’t print your boarding pass, it’s cool because you can use your mobile which I did. Save the tree!
I think with the new policy changes here, things are hectic but maybe it will get better later? Just for now, get there early because you will be expecting long lines.

Lots of restaurants and fresh food options. Kombacha is in this airport. Super clean bathrooms and environment. Friendly staff.

Can I just have all my layovers at this cool place, as long as they’re not in the winter season.
Depending on where you’re at, you might forget you’re at an airport and start to feel like you’re in a shopping mall. From a mid-​sized arcade, renowned hair salon, lots of casual and higher-​end dining with endless ethnic options… you’ll have plenty to eat and various ways to entertain yourself. Did I mention the 2,500 complimentary iPads available at Concourse G, there’s a reason I only fly Delta, thanks for the gift Delta. Entertainment at your finger tips. And if you’re feeling so enthralled by whatever you’re doing on the iPad, feel free to order food from the iPad and have it delivered to your exact location. I mean, did you not sit enough on your flight already?
Aside from all the cool amenities, this airport is fairly sized. Not too big that you’re having to stride across the terminal to get to your gate, but also not too small that you feel congested by the countless travelers amongst you.
Enjoy all of the fancy amenities that MSP has to offer, but don’t forget about the simple ones like easy access to hydration stations and very clean bathrooms.
I have two upcoming flights that will place me at MSP and I’m already planning my time.

This served as my layover on my way from LAX to Baltimore. Delta Airlines had quite a delay, and I was going to miss my connector flight. As soon as I left the first airplane, I booked it to the gate for my flight to BWI. Along the way, I stopped to ask a cart driver on the most efficient route to my destination. He told me to hop in, and off we were (check the video).
I was able to get to the gate, and get some much needed food as well. For this, I thanks Bob my cart driver. He really went above and beyond to make sure I got to where I needed to get. If management is reading this, promote this man!
I have nothing bad to say about this place, granted I spend a short amount of time here. Props to their good customer service skills!

Is it an airport, or is it a mall? I’m not sure. As a mall this airport is tops. Large, clean, and lots of stores. As a airport, there’s room for improvement. I ended up in an unbelievably long line at security. I’m fine with long lines. What I can’t stand are long, disorganized, unattended, unguided security lines. The line wrapped back and forth twice, with other empty security lines along the path taunting us. Some people left our line for one of these lines only to be turned away, as they were for premium/​platinum/​celebrity/​etc passengers. It was a total mess.

All in all it’s a nice airport. Some terminals even have a sort of Farmers Market area with fresh foods. Tax free shopping, too… one of my favorites Hammer Made is here! If I have to make a connection and have MSP as a choice, I typically choose it.

Good airport. Free WI-​FI for 45 minutes. Updated clean and spacious bathrooms. Only inconvenience is the rental car pick up rental, so allow extra time if you are renting a car.

BEST AIRPORT BATHROOM for women — across from gate E 8. Light-​filled, huge stalls, plenty of room for you, your bag and space to turn around without banging into other people.
Traveling is stressful enough and when the bathrooms are gross, over-​crowded (long lines), there are no paper towels or TP, it is a bummer. (LGA I am talking to you.)

MSP is a nice airport with many pretty shops, good food and even a real bookstore.

MSP isn’t in one of the largest American cities but it is a Delta hub so it isn’t much of a surprise that there are so many Delta flights in and out. It’s a pleasant enough airport with helpful ticketing/​gate agents and TSP personnel. While there are clearly labeled lines for general, Delta Elite, and Precheck passengers, the Elite and general lines sort-​of re-​converged in a somewhat confusing manner. There was one TSA agent for the Precheck line, one for the general line and a third who was split between the Elite and general lines. This last agent wasn’t very predictable in the order of assisting the general and Elite passengers, which was frustrating for those in front of me who tried to go through his check point.
Once past TSA, the terminal was very nice: many restrooms and USB charging stations, reasonable seating, and better-​than-​average dining options.

Overall a one of the more organized international airports I’ve had a layover in.
The lay out is simple and the staff were eager to help me find my gate. This was a very good feeling and made the process of boarding fast and easy.
Only complaint would be the over flowing of people waiting to use the bathrooms. My recommendation is to have larger bathrooms at the terminal/​more stoles.
Instead of waiting at the terminal bathroom I was waiting to depart, I decided to try another one because it was taking so long to get in the restroom. to my surprise the other ones also had a cue.

I find myself coming here fairly often since my airline is Minneapolis based, and it’s usually a pleasant experience. There’s really nothing much to gripe about at this airport. MSP has decent dine-​in and to go food options (I’m looking at you Surdyk’s and Chick-​Fil-​A!), well-​maintained and equipped facilities, great connections to many major (and not so major) cities in the CONUS and overseas, easy and affordable parking, city light rail and in-​airport tram service, short/​swift security lines, and most important of all… free WiFi!
The only drawback that comes to mind is that passengers can expect prolonged taxi out times throughout most of the winter season, as airplanes have to make their way to the deice pad for a good spraying prior to takeoff. This process easily adds 20 minutes to the taxi time, more if there’s a line of airplanes waiting for deicing. It would also be a plus if there were more dining options in the early and wee hours of the day.
Attaining 4-​stars across 1000 reviews is no easy task for a major hub airport, as the majority hover between 2 to 3.5 star territory. MSP has certainly shown its mettle and proven itself to be one of the better ones in America.

This airport gets a solid 4 stars from me. It’s huge! It even has a tram to help you get from concourse to concourse. It’s mostly clean and I love the fact that it’s not too crowded. My favorite part has to be the fact that it’s so easy to access a charger! They have many seats all sprawled throughout the airport and most of them come with outlets! However not all of them work for sure. But it’s okay, I can easily move to another seat.
Due to the size of this airport, I saw many people run to try to catch their flights! I’ve also never seen so many people with dogs at an airport in my life! But the airport has stretches of walking electric run ways to allow people to walk faster. They also have many little carts that offer rides for people who look like they are struggling to get to where they need to. That was actually really nice– witnessing workers ask flyers if they needed a ride! Thumbs up Minneapolis!
But why do most of the restaurants close at 9 PM here?! Even on Saturdays?! Crazy! But overall nice solid airport! I may even like it more than Denver because it’s so spacious and yassssssss to the bajillion outlets!
