High end Racetrack! Clean and smooth. My favorite track in California. It’s nice out here. However, I have to say that I hate the noise restriction being so low. I think it’s around 90db which is the only reason why I keep my Bike stock to keep the noise level down. This is an Elite Racetrack.

I have raced here and spectated here and its a top notch facility.
Noise restrictions:
The ONLY complaint i have is the tight noise restrictions applied by the city. In case you are running a open track day there are differing noise restrictions varying around the low 90s to high 80s. Just FYI that is super low. Stock (yes, STOCK) Corvettes and Porsche will fail this noise check. Just be prepared, lots of cars add additional mufflers to reduce the sound. The sound booth is located after turn 5, on the left side of the track before the bridge. One trick is to reroute your exhaust to the left side of your vehicle, another is to lift (which doesn’t always work). But don’t risk it, add that 3^rd muffler, it might look silly but its better then being black flagged for the day.
Racing on the track:
Its Laguna Seca man it’s one of America’s most famous tracks, it doesn’t get much better. It’s a fast track that is highly technical. Watch out for the apex curbs because they are very high and can easily do damage to your vehicle if you put a tire on them. If you are going to race here do yourself a favor and practice it on video games first. Nearly all of the game consoles have a scan of it. Iracing has one as well which is top notch. Watch out for the pit out it has a pretty tight turn right before it blends into the track that is easy to cook.
Viewing:
I have gone here for two TUDOR races and both times sat on the top of the hill near the corkscrew. Its a bit of a hike but is the best view of the place. Also, they do sell beer up there. With just a little movement you can see the 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, and 11. Be weary of the spotters from race teams trying to do the same thing as well. There is a nice concession stand in the infield near turn 4 where you have two options both. The are both pretty good for a concession stand. At least for the TUDOR races the pits are open to the public, no special passes needed just walk around and check everything out.
Parking:
There was plenty of parking. For though of you in RV or towing rigs be careful on the hill a the entrance of the park that is really steep and has claimed the life of many transmissions.
EV charging:
I was unable to find any J1772 charging spots but was able to find two 14 – 50 outlets. They are hidden in the infield near by the classroom. I had no idea where this classroom was so it might be easier to located by heading towards the bride near start finish from the infield. We were able to pull 40 amps on both outlets at once with no issue. With this said i am not sure if you would be able to park her during a TUDOR race. In addition there are a bunch of 6 – 30 outlets throughout the park but the only charger i could find that supports that is the Tesla Roadster one. During the EV race days i assume there is additional charging provided. I know Tesla has brought superchargers in the past. I posted my findings in plugshares website

We visited Laguna Seca with the Porsche Rennsport races. The track is interesting, permitting different views as you wander around, although we never found an area that provided a view of the entire track, and no shaded area at all.
There is a distinct lack of eating venues and those existing are laughable. There was a small tent dubbed a «beer garden» consisting of a bratwurst and beer stand with almost no seating, most of which was outside, uncovered, in the hot sun. There is a small «English Garden» venue, with some covered seating at filthy plastic chairs and tables.
There were lots of merchandise stands — a very overpriced flea market with $ 40 hats and $ 90 polos.
All in all pretty pathetic.

Here’s what I learned: If you have pit passes, be sure to wear long sleeves, jeans and closed toe shoes (no sandals). They don’t let people enter this area with short sleeves and exposed tootsies.
You can go up to the very top of the mountain where you’ll see «corkscrew» up on the side of the hill like the Hollywood sign. From here you can see cars take the corkscrew part of the track as well as watch the entire course from a birds eye view. Bring your own folding chairs if you’re going to hang out up here.
There are golf carts driving around that will offer you a ride so that you don’t have to walk as much. This is great if you’re there on a hot day.
Oh, Do bring ear plugs!

We LOVE Laguna Seca. We are here 4x this year: the Monterey Grand Prix, Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, the Porsche Rennsport Reunion, and the Pirelli world challenge. I can say one thing. I’m so glad that guy sitting there at the top of the hill all day brought an air horn up to the corkscrew to blow whenever cars go by. Said no one, ever.
The 99 other things I have to say about this racetrack are 100% positive! But if you’re going to come see a race here, and you bring an air horn, you are the one star missing from this review.

Awesome racing venue!
It’s gorgeous when driving up. Weaving around the entrance, you have the perfect view of the mountains cascaded with sun and greenery.
I have come out to the track with my boyfriend for a Track Day, where we got to drive (FAST!) around the track at intervaled times. Everything was well organized and planned out. All we had to do was arrive, find a spot to park and set up, sit through a short instructional session, and drive! Definitely worth the all-​day event and definitely will be back (he’s been there for Track Days many times before and since my visit with him).
We also went up for one of the once-​a-​month Twilight Ride for bicycle time. 2 hours on the track, with your bicycle, to go around and around on the world-​famous track. Seriously awesome and SERIOUSLY HARD. That uphill is no joke and that downhill, corkscrew is incredible. Fast and furious? Did I mention this Twilight Ride is all for just $ 10?! #steal
If you’re bored or just need a break from racing, take a stroll around the miles of track or up the hill to overlook the entire venue. Super pretty view, too.

I had an awesome time here at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca World Superbike 2015! Lots of beautiful bikes, vendors and yummy grindz (AKA food). Unfortunately, Sunday ended in tragedy. My deepest condolences go out to the families of Daniel Rivas Fernandez and Bernat Martinez. May you both RIP.

Arguably the best racetrack in the world. If you like cars and haven’t driven the track yet, put it on your bucketlist.

The BEST track I’ve been to. I was there for the Sea Otter Classic, which is a large bike race/​festival. The bike racers got to experience some of the classic turns best tackled by the motorcycle racers: The Andretti Hairpin, the Corkscrew, etc.
Besides the Sea Otter and other major events that happen here, there’s a ton of opportunities to drive here since most organizations host track days here.
Here is how the track was described to me by someone who raced it:
«It’s a technical track without being too fast and narrow. With 11 turns, you’re able to focus on specific sections without losing track of the other corners.»
It’s a great place for beginners and pros, and the sheer amount of events there make it accessible. If you’re a driving enthusiast or if you’re here for an event, make sure to walk around and enjoy everything there is to enjoy.

Now I know why all of the games feature this track… its a gorgeous track!!!
It is technical with a good amount of turns and elevation changes. The corkscrew is all that it is hyped up to be.
For any of first timers out there, I would recommend learning the track before hopping on (I failed to do this). The sweeping turn 9 was a surprise to me and so was turn 11 – slow turn, the brake markers are accurate for assistance.
Between turn 5 and 6 is the decibel tower, so beware if you have a loud car. When I was there, there was a gentleman who said he could assist anyone getting flagged for noise.
As a note, I learned from speaking to some natives that AAA will not tow your car from the track so if you do run into some issues and plan to call AAA, find a way to bring your car downhill to the street first.

Laguna Seca open track day with NCRC. There is nothing much to be said because this is such an iconic place. Who would have dreamed that I could drive my car on the same track that I play on Gran Turismo??? Just be careful about turn 11 where lots of people spin.

As a track, it’s a great one. Interesting layout, fast turns — exciting! As far as the *running* of the place as a venue, it’s like someone let their 12 year old brother be in charge.
We were here for the 2014 SCCA Runoffs in which my brother was competing. We ordered our tickets and special parking pass long in advance. Along with our tickets and pass in the mail came a track map showing the layout and the color-​coded parking areas. When we arrived, we saw there was a sign pointing one way for «green parking.» We looked on our map and saw that seemed to make sense and started to drive into the dirt paddock area looking for it. No luck. We turned around and asked one of the security/​traffic directing people who gave instructions in a different direction. We gave that a shot. Nope. Wrong way down a one-​way road. Third try and we were given instructions by a lady who was working the event for SCCA. We followed her info and did find a parking lot. But it was unmarked as being any color code by sign or on the map (where it was listed as being a vendor area) and the other vehicles there had about 3 different passes throughout. Oof. I worried about the car getting towed (especially bad news as it was a rental). At the end of the day, we discovered, when consulting one of the large track maps on a sign, that we were indeed in the right spot, but the map we were mailed was TOTALLY WRONG and the area the signs posted at the entrance had pointed to was being used for competitor paddock that weekend and not parking at all.
Long rant there. But really, I’m well-​versed in going to race tracks. This place was just run by cowboys with no idea what was going on, clearly. Additional to our parking issue, security was dodgy, they really might do well to try to plant some cacti or something, many competitors weren’t able to park where they’d apparently been told they would be (leaving them on the other side of the track altogether), and generally things were just poorly organized throughout.
Since Laguna Seca is essentially a county park, they seem to leave it to individual race groups to organize and run each event. But this clearly leads to conflicting and troublesome information and situations arising. It would seem that the county really should have some permanent staff on hand to keep things running smoothly.
As an aside, the local Boy Scout troop there was trying to sell ice cream bars for $ 5 a piece. Even at event prices, that was ridiculous and I question what sort of integrity and honor that sort of price gouging teaches those kids. Hrmph.

Lors de notre road trip de septembre quand mon copain a vu qu’on passé pas loin de Laguna Seca il a absolument tenue à ce qu’on s’y arrête.
Pour lui fan de sport auto, c’est un circuit mythique, pas loin de Monterrey il est assez mal indiqué heureusement que j’avais noté l’adresse à l’avance.
On arrive donc un samedi matin à l’entrée du circuit, aucune barrière on décide donc de rentrer en voiture, déjà c’est immense, il y a même un camping en bas;
On attend des voitures qui tournent, on a pu se garer gratuitement dans l’enceinte du circuit et assister aux différents essais qui se déroulaient ce jour.
On peut aller à pied à différents endroits, il y a pas mal de petites collines qui permettent d’avoir une bonne vue, certains américains apportent tout le nécessaire pour passer la journée, ils sont toujours très bien organisés.
Mérité un arrêt si vous êtes fan de courses automobile car apparemment il y a souvent des événements sur ce circuit.

What else needs to be said about Laguna Seca? The Andretti Hairpin, Corkscrew, it’s just a fabulous world class track. Besides all the major events that happen here, there’s also lots of opportunities to drive here since pretty much every organization hosts track days here.
This track will always hold a special place in my heart, because my first track day was here. It’s a technical track without being too overwhelming. With 11 turns, you can focus on certain sections without losing track of the other corners. It’s a great place for both beginners and pros, and the volume of events there make it accessible. If you’re a driving enthusiast, you owe it to yourself to come here.

My husband and I happened to find this raceway on our way through Salinas to Carmel. My husband always knew about this place in his video games and was so surprised to find this track near Monterey/​Carmel in the Central Coast. He couldn’t believe it.
It was great that we took a detour and went inside the raceway area (you have to go through a kiosk) to check it out. On 4^th of July, the souvenir shop was not open but we were able to drive our way through the complex to see the race track + some of the cars parked in the rest areas. I’m sure it would have been more festive and more fun if an actual race was going on, but we didn’t come at the right time.
We wouldn’t mind coming back again during a real event to see a live race in action. In the meantime, this lil’ side trip to see the race track itself was pretty cool already.

MotoGP 2013 review long overdue. Turn 4 suite and things are as they always are — great. :)
Marquez and Rossi at the corkscrew was beyond words and made this year’s visit an unforgettable one. Watching history in the making was an incredible experience.
Sadly, the races will not be returning in 2014, so I’m glad I was able to watch the race one last time and ride the amazing roads to and from Monterey.
All previous reviews stay the same and catering was great. This year featured a whole roasted pig. Tender and tasty.
The festivities felt a bit lacking this time around but it didn’t take away from my weekend.
Sad that it’s now July 2014 and I don’t have the race on my calendar and the usual excitement that builds every year. FIM SBK has taken the slot and though SBK is often very exciting to watch, I haven’t kept up this season or last season so I’m not up to date with who’s who. Would still be fun to go but would pale in comparison.
Fingers crossed for a second comeback to Laguna. Until then, it’s been a great ride. :)

This review is for the Red Bull USGP (MotoGP event) at Laguna Seca.
The layout of the track is very unique and pretty good for spectating. Of course the feature everyone talks about is the infamous corkscrew and it’s definitely a must see feature of this track. You can walk to a lot of different corners and get a good view of the action. The grandstand seats at turns 4 and 11 are nice too because they have big screens setup so you can see the whole race in addition to the corners right in front of you. I think it’s worth it to buy a grandstand ticket for race day.
The atmosphere at the race is also very cool. Motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the world come to watch this event. In addition to the awesome race machines you see in the pits and on the track you will see all kinds of cool and rare motorcycles ridden to the track by the race attendees.
The event itself is pretty well organized. You can pay for a car parking pass or take a shuttle to the track and over the years they have gotten fairly efficient with their traffic management system so it’s relatively painless to get in and out. There are a lot of great manufacturer and vendor displays to check out and the food options are pretty good too (for a race track).
If you love motorcycles or are a race fan in general you owe it to yourself to check out the MotoGP event at Laguna Seca!

I looooove this racetrack! A real Jewel!
It is quite fun being able to walk all around this racetrack and see the race from different perspectives. The track is just over 2.2 miles long and has a 180 feet elevation change with 11 turns… YES 180 FEET FOLKS!
The world famous «Corkscrew» (turns 8 & 8A) is something you have to see. The Corkscrew drops 59 feet between the entrance of Turn 8 to the exit of Turn 8A. From Turn 8 to Turn 9, the elevation falls 109 feet (just over 10 stories). I wonder how many noob racers had to change their shorts after the first time they experienced the Corkscrew? Also, the world famous Andretti Hairpin (turn 2) is quite awesome!
After walking all around the racetrack checking out various vantage points, I think the best place to hunker down is from the southside of turn 2 between the start line and the Andretti Hairpin.
Leguna Seca is one of the most popular racetracks in the world! Motor Trend magazine uses the track to test sportscars. I read that the prototype testing of the Nissan GT-​R was conducted on this track. This racetrack is also featured in almost all of the popular racing video games.

I believe the average cost for a day at the track is about $ 50 a ticket.
What I wouldn’t give to have this track all to myself for a few hours! They actually do rent out the track, but it costs some serious coin… between $ 8,000 to $ 15,000 PER DAY depending on the time of year!!! I have $ 500, anyone else got $ 7,500 and wants to rent the track with me??? lol

This place transforms into an AMAZING place for AMA/​MotoGP weekend, all of the workers are super friendly and helpful, they’re mostly volunteers that help out there. The parking isn’t too bad because of the little golf cart shuttles that run all day long. The porta-​potties were ALWAYS really clean the entire weekend, and there’s a TON of security all over the place at all times, but they don’t harass people at all, they’re just there in case they’re needed.
The mornings were chilly/​foggy where the fog was more like a fine mist of rain, with very low track visibility, and eventually it burnt off in the early afternoon. Make sure you dress in layers here!

Over the years I have come for the motorcycle races, (ah, remember the days when they had SBK with AMA?) Now they have MotoGP, and so happy to attend the festivities.
I’m not sure if the SCRAMP officials have taken classes on customer service, since I recall they used to holler at you for just about anything. «No tank tops in the paddock area!» (What?) I suppose they actually wanted us to come back — and we have.
Everyone has to go to any type of race at least once, just so you can take the trek to watch them come down the infamous Corkscrew, an amazing sight in person.
Obvious perks are people watching, taking photos with the leggy umbrella girls, shopping, and eating the wide variety of foods.
