History
Established in 1975.
In 1878, an Austrian adventurer, the Baron George Von Tomasini, headed to Texas to seek his fortune. He fell in love with the area that we now call Hill Country Village, and decided to call it home. The Baron built a dairy farm and, over the years, succeeded in acquiring over 400 acres of this precious soil.
In 1975, an innovative young woman discovered some of the land had become home to several industrial warehouses. She envisioned these warehouses converted into small shops for artists. Seeking out vintage windows, doors, and wood, she designed storefronts, and transformed the warehouses into small shops. The artists came, and Artisans Alley was born.
Over the years, the Alley has grown in many directions. Today, the shops at The Alley on Bitters are bursting with exciting and fun shopping opportunities! Recent renovations to the Alley have brought a more contemporary look to the stores, as well as the wonderful out-of-the-ordinary products sold in them.
