wow, was really disappointed, went there with 6 other friends. Water came to table with no ice, and when we wanted more the waiter was no where to be found. We got up to get our own water refills! When the order was taken I asked for iced tea but was told tea was not available because someone had left bleach in a container which meant no tea for anyone in the restaurant. The bread took forever after several request. When the salads came no one offered pepper so I got up to get the grinder and served pepper for our table of seven. And the Caesar salad was very dry, where was the dressing? Waiter came and asked if anyone wanted more wine before happy hour was up. They made their requests but the wines never showed. When the waiter was asked on his return trip he replied that happy hour was over. Really! A pizza was ordered and came to the table soggy and floppy. The halibut that was ordered came swimming in a sauce of water and tasteless. Unfortunately the entire evening was a fiasco and quite embarrassing for us since we recommended it. SMH !

This restaurant is AMAZING! We had been here several times and its our favorite date night spot. My husband took me there last year for my birthday. They were absolutely kind. The chef said our dinner was running late so they sent out an appetizer on the house. I love this place! Everything from the goat cheese sandwiches to the pasta to brunch is amazing! Hope it is here to stay!!!

One if my friends chose this place to celebrate her birthday dinner. When we arrived we started At the bar. It looks like they have really good happy hour prices. $ 3 prosecco– yes please! We didn’t stay long at the bar because our table was ready. The bartender did say that staring a specific date the prices were only for the bar area. They were having problems with the air conditioning so it was hot, very hot in a San Antonio evening but no fault of their own. It just made it pretty stuffy. We ordered appetizers– pulled mozzarella and the goat cheese grilled cheese. My friends loved the grilled cheese. We asked for more bread for the mozzarella that never arrived. The in house mozzarella was good and a huge serving. Not sure if I would order again. That’s one of the things I noticed — all of their portions were very large — unfortunately wasn’t «wow’ed» by any of the selections. There was gnocchi, pasta w mushroom dish and pasta with chicken dish. I don’t remember any of their names. I had the margherita pizza. For sides we ordered the Brussels sprouts, caponata, and cauliflower. The caponata was over powered by mint, the cauliflower was over taken by cheese and the Brussels sprouts had very little flavor. The chicken dish was over-gamey. The mushroom dish was not flavorful. The gnocchi was thick and dense and not flavorful. The dishes all seemed to be either under seasoned or over salted. Maybe the kitchen was just off that day– not sure. My pizza was really disappointing. The sauce was not light but was thick– almost tomato paste-ish. The crust was crisper than what most margharita pizzas I have ever had before. Again all of the dishes were very large portions which would be great but if none of us finished our plates and none of us asked for doggie bags– that says a lot. A comment about the wine list– I don’t think I have ever seen quite as pricey white wine list. $ 75 for a Viognier? There were better(price wise) selections in the red wines but it was too hot in the restaurant to order red. So we had a very mediocre white wine. Finally I found the service(overall) intrusive. I am all about having attentive service but if they constantly interrupt your meal or try to participate in a private group conversation — it’s a total bummer. From restaurant suggestions to cities we should visit– were all topics our server provided without being asked. Nice enough but enough already. I think what did it for me was when she asked us about dessert shortly after our entrees arrived. I mean Jeez– can we just have a few minutes with just my friends?

Great food, great service– surprisingly wasn’t as busy as it deserves to be. Get the burrata and the squid ink bucatini.

We were here for happy hour last week and enjoyed their appetizer specials and«Rose Bubble Flight» they offered during Fiesta. We ordered the gorgeously presented and delicious Fresh Hen Deviled Eggs, Roasted Golden Beets, White Beans with Gremolata and Grilled Goat Cheese Sandwiches with Tomato Jam. Everything was delicious but next time I would ask for extra dressing on the beans and the tomato jam on the side because I thought the sweetness of the jam slightly overpowered the tasty mini grilled goat cheese sandwiches.

Love this place! It’s a hidden gem tucked away in Artisan’s Alley. They’ve got a great wine selection to perfectly pair with your entrée.Try the hand pulled mozzarella with burnt toast, and the Bolognese. Oh the Bolognese! I dream of eating their handmade pasta

Yum!!! I love this place for Sunday Brunch and Happy Hour! Great deals for great food. The breakfast pizza is different each week. Some weeks it is beyond amazing and some weeks it is just awfully darn good. The deviled eggs are not the traditional ones but are tongue tingling good. The pulled mozzarella will definitely pull you back for more. The grilled goat cheese sandwich is a big kick of flavor. Oh, and the NY strop on the brunch menu is a pound of delicious and goes perfectly with the amazing buttermilk biscuits. When the weather is nice the patio is such a wonderful place to sit. Makes one forget they are so close to the city. Situated nicely away from the traffic noise on busy Bitters. The service is always very friendly and helpful. One of the best Sunday brunch spots in town. Just do it!

The customer service is awesome, very sweet people. It was my best friend’s birthday and they were nice enough to bring out the cake and candles I had bought in. Very kid friendly place too. They obliged to take a lot of our gangs pictures. The ambience is great too! Very restoration hardware :) But the menu is very limited and very expensive! My husband and I do spend 100 bucks for a meal very frequently, but this place is not special enough! The food was very ok, my husbands steak was not seasoned well, and my friends lamb Ragu was cold :(. The 3 stars are for ambience, the amazing staff and the nice manager who kept checking on us :) Also! Like the other reviewers pointed out the entrance is difficult to find!

This place is somewhat hidden, has a beautiful outside seating area, and is very charming. So I really wanted to like this place. The menu is small, not much to choose from. My husband got a special for the night that was not on the menu: trout with fingerling potatoes. I got their bacon gnocchi. To start, we shared the pulled mozzarella and I had the lobster bisque. Nothing was good. The pulled mozzarella was cold so it was hard to pull. The lobster bisque tasted entirely too fishy. It was a broth not a bisque. Our meals were a disappointment. The gnocchi only tasted like bacon. I love bacon, but it only rated of bacon and the gnocchi looked as though it had been reheated. The trout was far too salty. It was not enjoyable at all. I won’t be coming back to this place. I really wanted to like it though.

To very close to my home and just off Bitters… Love that it secluded from the traffic and the parking lot has plenty of room even during the busiest times. Went on a whim and was so wonderfully surprised. The seating and décor was lovely and outdoor seating(plus fireplace) available for those nice evenings/days. The food… well it was superb. My companion ordered a brick oven baked pizza, no packaged pepperoni on that gem — it was all hand sliced meats and fresh cheeses. The charred red snapper I ordered was beautifully cooked and topped with greens in a bed of red sauce. The highlight for me was the deviled eggs — no words can describe… Plus the staff was so nice and even recommended the brunch which I’m told include peanut butter pancakes. I’ll be back, as often as I can.

Aw man, I’ve been looking for biscuits like Tre Enotecas FOREVER! My grandma would make these amazing from scratch biscuits when I was a wee babe and I haven’t found an SA location that matched her recipe until today! DANG. These beautiful country biscuits are savory and don’t even need anything like sausage gravy(which I’m a huge fan of) but their sweetened butter and preserves pair perfectly, I was in heaven! I’d come back just for these puppies and I wouldn’t share(tee hee). We ordered their french press coffee, it was on the bitter side but grew on me and was super strong… we were all messed up at the table(lol). I’d have their coffee again. The soft scramble and hash browns were forgettable. Tre’s dinner dishes are pretty good, the pasta bolognese is quite tasty. The restaurant has many seating options both patio and indoor and service is exceptional. See Sonia C.‘s awesome review and order Tre’s house pulled mozzarella!

Boy, do I miss Bin 555… But then, the Tre’s happy hour is amazing!(insert happy face emoji — holding a glass of wine) Haven’t been to Tre’s happy hour? You don’t know what your missing! Let me back up a bit. So I’m just going to review HH. Yes, people gripe that it’s hard to find. Blah, blah, blah. But they got there. Don’t people like a challenge these days? So, Tre Enoteca is located in the back of Artisan Alley. And if you’re not careful you might drive by and miss the turn into Artisan Alley(Lord knows I have several times). Well, I love this restaurant. First, it has a very cool outdoor patio with an actual fireplace. Kind of a rare thing here in SA. Second, I love their Happy Hour!!! Now, Happy Hour is only at their bar from 4−7pm. Food is fabulous. Limited menu. I can make a meal of it and not break the bank. Though I will go over board and order everything on their HH menu and still go over my budget, but it is so worth it. I start off with a glass of wine, order the deviled eggs– oh soooo good! Follow that with the goat cheese sandwiches with the tomato jam on the side, and I get an order of the pulled mozzarella, drizzled with olive oil and a bit of sea salt. So the mozzarella is not on the HH menu, but you can not go to Tre and not order this item. Trust me on this one. This is my favorite place to go to for HH. I know the food there is good, service is great and and the mozzarella is to die for.

My significant other and I went here for Valentine’s day dinner. We had been here once before for a random brunch date and enjoyed it, so decided to see what the dinner was all about. We had relatively high hopes for a great dinner. This resturant is hidden, all the way in the back of a rustic little shopping center called The Alley. The first time we went, it took us about 15 minutes to find this place since it is not visible from the street. Luckily we knew where it was this time. At first site the front porch looks like you’re walking into the back of someone’s house. Inside, the resturant has a rustic yet contemporary vibe. With big sliding barn doors and beautiful décor that screems casual fine dining. Since it was Valentine’s Day they had a special 5 course pre fix menu priced at $ 55 a person, which was avaliable with an optional wine pairing for $ 30. We opt to just get a couple of mixed drinks from the bar. Drinks were $ 10-$ 12 — what I would expect at this type of resturant. The wait staff was attentive and showed up within a minute of us sitting down to get our drink order and assist with any questions on the prefix menu. We ordered and egerly awaited our first course. It was a family style cheese and charcuterie plate. I felt it was a little lite on the meat but we enjoyed it. So far so good but halfway into our first course, the second course showed up. It was a lobster buisq. I was not a big fan but my date enjoyed it. Since we were rushed into the second course we were now eating two courses at once. Not ideal for a prefix menu but then when the 3rd course came in a couple of minutes later. Now it was starting to feel more like an eating compition and not a romantic dinner. The third course was a house made pasta dish. The pasta was cooked well and all the flavors of tomato and basil were present. Good flavor but a little heavy on the salt. I like salt, but I could see how it could be too much for someone else. This was actually the first course that we were able to finish without being rushed into the next course. I think a lot had to do with us speeding up the rate at which we were eating because of how the courses where being piled on at this point. The fourth and main course took longer to come out so we where able to finally catch our breaths. We each selected the beef filet, which was a $ 16 dollar additional up charge. It was tasty but a little undercooked since the center was raw. We struggled through this course and by the time desert came we had to take them to go. All and all I was not dissapointed but not impressed. Our dinner was very rushed. We had 5 courses delivered within 45 minutes. The portion sizes were good but for the over $ 200 price tag of dinner I was expecting more. On this experience alone, I would of rated 3 stars but my posative brunch experience bumped them up a star. I would come here again, but only for brunch.

Man this review is late and Wayyyyy over do but better Late than Never so here goes… Tre Enoteca was a nice Birthday treat located almost in a secret location that was a tad harder to find because of a weird side entrance. My Battle decided to treat me out for my 37th Birthday and I couldn’t have been more pleased. While chilly on this December 30th, the restaurant was cozy, designed with ambience in mind and adorned with wine bottles … my Fav. Since I had previously checked out the restaurant on Unilocal,I knew I was interested in sampling the gnocchi. They were skillfully prepared, were crunchy on the outside and the perfect consistency/ratio of potato to flour. He dined on a delicious plate of pasta and chicken that was accompanied by an appetizer of bruschetta and a tomato jam that was simply amazing. Our waitress was attentive and brought me out a tasty complimentary chocolate desert that we shared. We sat and caught up and finished our meal with a pairing of white wine that ended our wonderful meal. Definitely on the return list ~

Great happy hour. The bolognese is always a winner. We also had the pasta with cherry tomatoes 3 ways that was part of the brunch. Amazing. The lemon pound cake paired really nice with the rose.

First off, let me express how frustrating this place is to find. The shopping center it is located in is easy to find. There are signs for Tre Enoteca on the shopping centers entrance but once you park and look at the directory, Tre Enoteca does no exist! There are a number of shops and businesses located in this unique, tree fort style shopping center but most of them were wrong on the directory. After walking around in circles for ten minutes, my partner and I finally found Tre Enoteca located in the far back right of the shopping center. The restaurant was cool. It looked rustic and was open with some modern features to accentuate all of the wood. There is a great view of the kitchen from the dining area and they have a nice bar with a television in a separate area. The staff were interesting. I don’t know what other word to use. Something about the waitress made me a little awkward. It may be just emotions but it seemed like she was playing the part of a waitress while holding in her laughter. I also saw a few meals at other tables being returned to the kitchen. I’m not sure what was going on there. I wasn’t too impressed with the food. I had the squid ink bucatini with grilled octopus and arugula($ 15) and it left a lot to be desired. The pasta was gummy and I prefer mine to be a little al dente. The sauce was also spread on the bottom of the plate and not mixed in with with pasta and other ingredients. Speaking of the sauce, it seemed like it was just pureed tomatoes. I would have expected a white wine or butter based sauce with a seafood dish but that is up to the chef. I would have also liked a few more flavors in the meal. On the other hand, I really enjoyed the pulled mozzarella starter($ 11.50). It was salty and peppery and came with excellently grilled bread. I could have eaten it all night but cheese and bread do not make a meal. Overall, this place was a little disappointing. I thought the restaurant was designed well and was definitely trendy but the staff were different and the food was not that good. I expected great things from this place due to the reviews and reputation but I was definitely let down by the execution.

I’m ashamed to say that I’ve never been to a Jason Dady restaurant– despite living down the street from Tre Trattoria for over five years. Whoops. So I came back into town and made it to two of his places in one weekend! Made it in time for HH(4 – 7, Tues-Sun) and enjoyed the small bites. COUSCOUSWITHKALE: Healthy, paired well with the beet dish, but seemed like it was missing something. Flavors are understated but cous cous is cooked perfectly. GOLDENROASTEDBEETS: A surprisingly boring beet dish, also seemed to be missing something. Adding a bit of the goat cheese from the sandwiches perked it up a little. Didn’t finish this. FRESHDEVILEDHENSEGGS: Apparently a menu favorite, and the eggs were cooked perfectly but I did not care for the aioli sauce on top(there was too much). I liked the pickled mustard seed accents but my sister found them overpoweringly salty. GRILLEDGOATCHEESESANDWICHESWITHTOMATOJAM: This was great! Crispy grilled bread, generous schmears of creamy goat cheese, and one of the best sweet tomato jams I’ve tried. You must try at least one of their cheese apps, this one was excellent. FRESHFRUITCROSTADA: My sister’s favorite dessert here. The crostada was nicely crisp with ample fruit filling(strawberry), a housemade sweet cream gelato, and fresh basil(my favorite part!). Would get this again, and I’m not generally a dessert fan. Although I didn’t love everything I tried, I am intrigued enough to come back. Service in the bar/lounge area was genuinely sweet and knowledgeable– Ana was excellent and served each dish with a full description, which I love and noticed other servers were not doing. I recommend requesting her specifically if you can.

I thought I had written this review! Now that the nuances of the meal have faded I won’t go into detail about it. All you need to know is that you will leave this dining experience elated. Its a warm and fuzzy kind of satisfaction. I will definitely be going again and will write and update.

My husband and I ventured to Tre for brunch last Sunday… it was rather late in the afternoon and there was only one other couple there, which was perfectly fine with us. Being our first time there, I was impressed by the interior… it’s gorgeous! There’s a chef’s bar right by the kitchen and tons of wood and windows. I had seen a Facebook post regarding some peanut butter pancakes and that’s what brought us to Tre that day. Our server, Sarah, told us that the brunch menu was new and that they were still working to refine it, which was fine with us… We’re pretty experimental and flexible! We ordered said peanut butter pancakes, the hash browns and the biscuits. The menu said the dishes were family-style, and there was more than enough food for the two of us. The pancakes were huge! We ended up taking some home… lots of peanut butter and crushed peanuts on top. The syrup really made the flavors stand out. We were asked by Sarah what we would, change on them… maybe a little less peanut butter would do the trick, but flavor-wise, these were great! The hash browns were good, too. Lots of basil and the perfect amount of salt. I would’ve preferred them cooked a little more so they’d be crispier. Still, I could’ve easily had all the hash browns myself… I didn’t want to share! The biscuits looked great, but there was an issue with the dough, so we didn’t get to finish them(correction: my husband ate half of one and loved it, so it wasn’t that big of an issue). Sarah was very gracious and offered to replace them for us. The focus on quality is impressive and we were very happy and stuffed afterwards. My mimosa took a little while to arrive, but I was too busy chowing down on the hash browns and pancakes to notice. Overall, we were very happy with the food, the service and the ambiance. We will definitely be back!

It seems there’s nobody in SA that can turn around a concept and it’s physical venue faster than chef Dady. About the only unchanged items at the ex-Umai-mi, ex-Bin555 location are the restrooms and the chef’s bar, where I’d highly recommend seating for parties smaller than four. Menu breaks down into a selection of shareable small plates, pastas, pizzas, and some larger entrees. I like that there are several off-menu specials in at least a couple categories. The small plates make for a nice accompaniment for folks more interested in libations than a full dinner experience. Gnochi and goat cheese pizza were excellent, as were the course explanations from chef Margaux Alcorta. No old faces from Dady’s other venues appeared among the FOH staff which was a little on the green side but quite pleasant and efficient. My one wish would be for them to eventually replicate something along the lines of the broader BTG wine offerings that were a hallmark of Bin555.
