Woman at the register is rude. I’m in the service industry, I have been for 10 years. The minute you blame a customer to their face is the minute you need to get a different job, it’s not for you. It might be their fault, it might not, that’s not the point. The point is there is a problem, fix it and apologize. The only reason this review is 2 stars for the fact that the food came quick. Other than that not even worth one star.

This is the 3rd time I get here around 8pm and they are closed for cleaning. These guys close early to clean? So they can go home early. Really. Talk about horrible management. On top of that they are rude as he’ll about it. Worse place ever def lost a regular customer

DONOT come here! They skimp out to the extreme. Should be renamed the Great Skimp. My sandwich did not have any cheese or BBQ sauce as I ordered. The fries weren’t even hot. Overpriced for what I received. Never coming here again.

A great cheese steak spot for a food court. The hogy roll is soft and fresh with tender beef, peppers, provolone, tomato’s, mushrooms, and onions. The service is quick and friendly; everything is made to order at low prices. I will definitely try other things next time. So, for excellent cheese steaks at low prices in a casual atmosphere with quick friendly service, The Great Steak & Potato Co. cannot be beat.

Located inside Tanforan Shopping Center in the foodcourt area amongst other foodies, we decided to grab a bite here bc it’s been years since we had a Great Steak. After a wait of 15 minutes(Yes for mall food), we finally got to taste our BaconChedderGreatSteak. **It was heartburn and for some folks heart attack on a bun.** Generous slices of steak, topped with gooey melted chedder cheese, bacon pieces and way too much mayo. I’m a fan of mayo but not when it’s literally dripping out of my bun like rain drops. **Meh, I think not.** I did enjoy their fresh hot fries. The reason? Bc it still had their potatoe skins and I LOVE fries that have that. Loaded with cheese, bacon pieces, sour cream and chives, it made up for the extra mayo they added onto my greatsteak bun.

This place is one of the less popular places in the Tanforan food court. I think that is hecause no one has tried the Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich. It is really really good! The chili cheese fries are really awesome too!

Remember those messy gooey chili fries I was looking for? I finally found them. They weren’t really that delicious but they hit the spot. Gooey cheese that I am sure is heavily processed but hey, it’s the holidays and just one short week away from the New Year. Fries were way over cooked. Hard as rocks. Original Steak was pretty good as far as steak sandwiches good. Cashier was super sweet and had a smile on her face the whole time. If I am craving gooey, messy cheese fries, I know where to go. I’ll just ask for the fries to not be overcooked.

Craving a Philly Steak. Stop here and get a regular size. Add Jalapeño! The large if your are starved. No room for fries with the large though.

Where is the love for Great Steak, nowadays? Will there ever be a time when a steak sandwich shop can compete with the likes of a McDonald’s? Probably not. For a hot off the grill steak sandwich with melted cheese, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, lettuce, tomato you can’t go wrong with the Great Steak. The steak sandwich was made to order and served with some good old fashioned fries. I was laughing at the long line at Panda when I got my hot off the grill sandwich. This place hasn’t let me down yet. Will I go back? Hell Yeah(but only in moderation).

I’m a fatty. This place is not healthy for you(nor is it that cheap) but ohhhh is it delicious! I usually get the Chicken Teriyaki without onions with a baked potato or potato skins. The cashiers are very nice(unlike other chains) and the food is prepared quickly. What I like is that it’s prepared in front of you. I was super hungry one time when I came here with The Boyfriend and we ended up each purchasing 1 large sandwich(so two in total) and it was waaay too much. Its also super heavy which makes it easier to share.

Yesterday we spent about $ 375 give or take on two mediocre sandwiches and two trays of fries, and two fountain drinks they’re too stingy to even refill for free. 50 cents for a refill? Talk about insult to injury. In all seriousness… this place charges $ 11 for a combo meal. May as well go down to BJ’s, since my «steak bacon and cheddar» was an utter disappointment. Here’s a tip: bacon is supposed to be crispy. Here’s an even better tip: Cheddar is the name of a CHEESE not a gross greasy liquid that had to come from a can. Take a real Philly cheesesteak, add crispy bacon and ACTUAL cheese, and it would be delicious. The thing I ate last night was somehow the opposite. My wife said her Reuben was good(despite the fact they can’t spell«reuben»), but she agreed it wasn’t worth the second mortgage we had to take out to buy this overpriced, below average mall food. Protip: if you find yourself in the vicinity, entertain yourself by trying to figure out how many completely different logos for this place you can find on display here. We found 5. See if you can beat us. Branding confusion reigns supreme!

From New York to the Food Court, a shameful use of my 100th Unilocal. They should be called The Decent Steak and Potato Company. The steak sandwich is what you’d expect from a food court. Their peanut-oil-fried fries are teh +1. On our way back home from SFO we normally stop at the Millbrae In-N-Out. But I accidentally ended up on 101 North, so we went to the mall instead.
