Skin Mantra For Threading Facials Waxing

Such a lovely first experience with Mona!
I didn’t have an appointment, but she was nice enough to take me in still. However, make sure to make appointments in case she’s busy with a facial!
You can really tell that she loves what she does, and she’s amazing at it! I got my eyebrows threaded and they came out exactly as I wanted. She didn’t take away any of the thickness of my eyebrows, but only cleaned up the new hairs.
I definitely recommend Mona and her services. I will definitely be back!

Mona is the one of the most down to earth and genuine women I have ever met.
Growing up, I had CATERPILLARS for eyebrows. After years – YEARS of burnt skin from waxing, pencil thin brows, catastrophic brow meltdowns. Browmaggedon has come to an end. I’ve been blessed by Mona’s hands. This woman did work with my brows. I like my brows thick. I went through the ugly brow phase to get these brows. It was worth it. She also made my skin envious. Her gold facial is money. She does magic.
Ladies (or men) grow your brows out for 3 weeks and see Mona. I guarantee you’ll come out feeling Beyoncé fresh.

Mona is an absolute gem. She is so talented and experienced and what I appreciate most is that she gives the BEST beauty advice. I’ve been to many beauticians all throughout the Bay Area but I always go back to Mona because I know she’ll do a great job. You can trust her for your threading, facials and everything in between.

Love mona, such a sweet person. Just got my eyebrows done and I’m in love. They look so natural, she always make sure you’re taken care of. It’s 15 $ for brow threading and always make sure you let her know your outside for her. Def coming back.

Mona is located inside Salon 725, for all you people who are wondering! I know I was a bit confused prior to when I started coming here.
Mona has had over 20 years of experience with eyebrow threading and shaping. She’s very professional and seriously knows what she’s doing, for any of ya’ll feeling hesitant. I’ve never had a single bad experience with her, ever. What I love mostly about going to Mona instead of other eyebrow artists is that she takes all the time she needs to be as precise as possible on your eyebrows. Unfortunately this may lead other clients having to wait a bit longer than what their appointment is scheduled for, but that’s only because Mona never rushes on anyone :) Also, it’s only $ 10! I’ve been to higher-​end places where they would charge about $ 20+ for such mediocre work. So I’m so happy I found her on Unilocal,she’s been a savior from horrible eyebrow work by other people, and she has also been saving me a ton of money!

My eyebrows have never looked better. My eyebrows don’t have a natural arch… they’re arched now! Mona has created an arch. I love them so much! I’ve been going to her for about a year now & I’m satisfied every time.
In addition to her awesome work, she is also just a peach! Such a sweet lady. I always look forward to her kind sweet nature & beautiful smile. It’s infectious! You’ll leave there in a good mood with a smile on your face :)

I have been going to Mona di for over a year now. She is an amazing person and is really good at what she does. My eyebrows are particularly messy and after coming to USA, I had been struggling to find someone good to manage my brows by threading. I was so relieved when I found her! I even got my facial done from her, and it was a great experience. She understands my skin and advises me about how I should take care of it. I get tensed when she goes on vacation as my brows grow really bushy and I cant really trust anyone else at this point. I wish I can manage to go to her all my life!!!

Mona deserves her 5 stars. She does a great job! I have been getting waxed by her for about a year and I have nothing but nice things to say. She fits me in last minute and keeps her prices reasonable. I live close by and walk there but when I happen to drive, there is plenty of parking.

Mona is awesome! She’s super friendly, reasonably priced, quick, give great tips, and made an uncomfortable Brazilian session quite pleasant.

So I normally go down to Sumi Beauty in Mountain View to get my brows done, but today didn’t feel like making the trek. After researching eyebrow options in my area, I went with Mona.
Mona was quick and did not pinch my skin as some other threading places. She did a nice job cleaning up my brows and was really adamant about how she thought they should be shaped. (I’ll upload a before and after.)
I would have given her 5 stars, were it not for what happened at the end of the appointment.
When she was done threading, she began to make motions to apply some stuff in a bottle to my skin. I asked her not to, citing really sensitive skin that breaks out easily. She put it on my face anyway, saying that she gets whatever it was from India and it doesn’t cause breakouts like American stuff does. (Of note: whatever it was smelled exactly like nail polish remover.)
She then proceeded to tell me that my skin was sensitive because I didn’t wash it correctly (something she could not possibly know, as I was a new client) and started going into how I should only use cool water to wash (I do) and a bunch of other stuff. Everything she said about why my skin is sensitive was incorrect: it’s sensitive because of medication I use that can have poor interactions with other products.
I was really put off by that portion of the experience. Up until that point, I was planning on switching to Skin Mantra as my regular threading location. For now I will remain loyal to Sumi Beauty and go to Skin Mantra for emergencies.

Mona is great! I have been going to her for the past 10 years for threading and facials and she never disappoints. She is flexible and accommodating with appointments and treats her clients well! She really cares about what she does and taking care of your skin. She uses great products catered to your skin and gives advice for you on what to do at home. She is also reasonably priced! Can’t go wrong with Mona!

As you can see from basically all the reviews here, Mona does NOT disappoint! This is the first time I’ve been to Mona, which was about an hour ago, haha! I knew I had to write a review as soon as I got home because my brows have NEVER looked better.
I’m so grateful I found Mona through Unilocal.I work at a local beauty store, and I cannot even begin tell you the amount of women who come in disappointed in and HATING their threader, asking for tips to fill them in and or even begging for recommendations for another trusted threader.
The eyebrow nightmare/​horror stories I heard at work and among my family & friends were why I hadn’t gotten my eyebrows done in over a year, and also because I naturally have thin eyebrows which are sparse at the end.
I walked in to Salon 725 at 3 p.m. on a weekday asking for Mona, and the kind receptionist said that she wasn’t in at the moment, but I could call her to see where she was and make an appointment. I called Mona and left a voicemail, and she called me back within 5 minutes. She was in the South Bay when I called her, and she kindly asked if I could meet her back at the Salon in an hour, at 4pm. I didn’t mind the wait considering how sweet she was on the phone; there’s plenty to do in the area anyways.
An hour later I realized she was a billion times more sweet in person; she apologized for traffic even though she was only literally 3 minutes late and had come all the way from San Carlos. She seated me right away.
The threading itself hurt only a little because it’s been a while since I’ve gotten my brows done, but Mona makes you feel very comfortable and actually LISTENS to what you want. A lot of the waxers/​threaders I’ve gone to in the past assume the generic (thin) brow shape with unflattering arches and went cray cray on my brows, nearly leaving me with no brows.
I showed Mona a picture of a celebrity whose brows I adore SO much and pointed out the shape I was trying to achieve. Even though the celebrity had naturally thicker brow hairs and a different face shape than myself, Mona took this into consideration and thoughtfully threaded my brows according to MY eyes & face shape. «I want it to still fit your face, to be perfect for your face,» she said. «You love HER brows, but now everyone is going to love YOUR brows.»
She was so personable and conversational, and gave me great brow tips throughout my appointment. When I looked in the hand mirror she gave me, I was amazed. On top of that, she grabbed a kohl pencil and showed me the best ways to fill them in to not only accentuate the desired shape I wanted, but ways I could still grow my brows out. She invited me for a skincare consultation as well, which I will definitely take advantage of because her skin is FLAWLESS and unbelievable for her age and I’d love to learn any skin secrets I can.
She absolutely makes you feel like you’re one of her girlfriends, as many reviewers have said! She’s a funny, sweet woman who is obviously a huge people person, which is KEY in the beauty business. Give Mona a try– you’ll come for the brows, but you’ll stay for Mona.

I came to Mona for eyebrows and am so satisfied! FIrstly, Mona is soo cute and personable. She loves to tell stories and treats you like an old girlfriend she hasn’t seen in a while. She greeted me very warmly and got right to it. You can tell that she is confident in what she does and the results were perfect! She played to my natural arch and it came out beautiful. :) For her skill, she can NOT be beat — and not to mention the price ($ 10!!!)
Mona also does facials that appear to be pretty affordable. I haven’t tried it, but she was telling me about it. Thanks Mona!

I wish I had Mona over in the South Bay!
I was only in San Fran. for a few days & was not able to get my eyebrows done before my trip started. I was in need, badly!
Stayed in South SF and happen to be 10 minutes away from this salon. A little confusing to find; be aware her «station» is inside a Hair Salon!
So nice & funny! She gave me some great advice on the shape I wanted to achieve as well.
I wanted to tip her at most $ 4 (def worth it) but I believe I only had $ 1 handy. I asked if she had change for a $ 5 and she said not to worry about it.
When I decide to head back up to SF, I am definitely paying her a visit. It’s only been a week but I miss her already. lol.

She is wonderful! It is a bit of a drive for me but she is completely worth it and her prices are amazing! She is not only great at what she does but she always has the best attitude:) you can tell that she loves her job and that can go a long way nowadays! I am very particular on who I allow to touch my eyebrows so trust me when I say that she is great!

Best threader I have found in the Bay since I ditched waxing and started threading in 2009. AMAZING!!! Mona, is probably the sweetest person ever and her service prices are the best I’ve come across esp in the Peninsula. I’ve only gone to her twice so far, she’s in India right now, but I can’t wait til she comes back so I can go see her again and get my facial we have been discussing! My brows are usually pretty tricky (shape wise) and also thick bc I’m Indian/​Italian and so my hair roots are crazy, I never feel a single bit of pain when Mona does my brows and lip and she get the perfect shape every time!
The first time you meet her you will automatically feel like you’ve known her forever, that’s just how welcoming she is with you. Def a BEAUTY GURU!!!

I called Mona and was able to make an appointment right away — she’s close to me and I called midday: P
I went in to get a Brazilian, lower leg, and underarms waxing. Mona is so warm and friendly that I was comfortable right away. We were talking so much that I hardly even noticed that she was still waxing me! (with the exception of a bit of the Brazilian, since it’s such a… sensitive area) She was quick, thorough, and CLEAN. I’ve had so-​called «best Brazilian» in LA places leave stray hairs everywhere, I know friends who have been burned, and I HATE when waxers don’t clean off all the wax. None of these issues came up with Mona. She even expressed concern over ingrowns from previous waxes/​shaving and told me how to take care of them.
After trying various places in LA, I’ve learned to give VERY specific directions with threading so I end up with the right shape and thickness. With Mona, I didn’t even have to say anything — and my brows have a better shape than they’ve had in a long time. My eyebrows have been uneven for years, and I can already see that going to Mona will finally help even them out.
I also appreciate that Mona doesn’t try to upsell you — I had originally asked for my upper lip to be threaded but she inspected me and told me I didn’t need it (but that she’d still do a quick pass over the area for free!). She also offers little sample skincare (I got a cleanser and moisturizer), and will give you SO many helpful tips and lessons. NO esthetician I’ve met gives away info like that, so Mona definitely stands out as honest and a woman who really just wants her clients to look their best.
I’ll definitely be back, especially since she’s flexible with schedule, her prices are WAY lower than most, and the service is great. I’d rather have all of that than pay $$$ to go to some fancy schmancy salon.

The best threading and waxing in town. (yet I bet it is one of the cheapest)

The waxing lady: Mona, super nice. work around your schedule. She would calm you down if you get nervous during wax. Best part is she give u tips in case you do waxing at home. Seriously I love her.
Price: underarm + eyebrow, upperlip threading+ Brazilian wax= less than 65 bucks. (not dirty salon, everything is super tidy and clean)
but Brazilan wax can cost 65 in milbrae area.
Tip: Go in, try the upperarm wax. No harm right!

Mona is just plain excellent. Not early do her competent skills provide for excellent facials, but her cheery disposition makes you want to go back!
Mona is always very generous with her home based product tips on how to keep the hair and skin care maintained between visits.
Reasonable priced and on time appointments.
