We brought in our new family addition — our red husky/​malamute to be groomed here. Grooming a husky/​malamute is no small thing… their coatS emphasis on the plural! require patience and someone who really knows this type of breed /​coat layering. Every 3 – 4 months we bring in Brandi for the traditional groomers set: nails, trim, shampoo/​dry and blow out. While we feed Brandi a great diet and she is in great health — even still this girl gets mats no matter how often we brush. What I took in was our beloved trail dog — what we got back was a gorgeous husky. Her fur is silky, that tail that was once a FORCE to be reckoned with is now billowy/​soft. Best of all: no more grinch paws. :) 2 hours at $ 80 — she looks amazing — i tipped $ 15. We will definitely return. Thank you so much for handling our girl so well.

Priced similarly to PetSmart but service is much quicker. Additionally, it always feels better putting your pet’s paws in someone’s hands who’s an experienced groomer vs somewhere else where a teenager appears befuddled just taking your pet to the grooming area. The toys and extensive cookie & treat selection are a favorite.

My family and I had been taking my dog to this place for a while but we will never go here again! After he got a haircut for the last time there my parents noticed that he was biting and scratching at a certain area for a while, but they couldn’t find anything on him (fleas, etc). So once it did not stop by the end of the week I took the time to travel home from school and what do you know? I found 2 fleas on him. There was no possible way that he could have gotten it from our house because we are very clean and it would have been noticeable if it was from there. So I called Bow Wow Meow and the employee in fact reassured me that it is most likely from their grooming facility. Now, when the manager called me a few days later, she said there is no way it could have been from there. Uh, I’m not an idiot. If it’s not from my house and he recently got a haircut from there, then it is most likely from your facility! Was not happy with the way I was spoken to on the phone. Oh and I also believe that my dog has anxiety now because he would be locked up in a cage for hours at this place! I never understood why a dog needs to be at a grooming facility for 7 hours. Absolutely ridiculous.

My experience here was horrible. Stopped by earlier today to pick up my dog from being groomed and dealt with a girl covered head to toe in tattoos who had the worst, snarkiest attitude and seemed to lack any form of respect. She seemed to be very short and rude to me and with fellow employees. Not a place I’d ever plan on going to again as long as they have people like that working there who are blatantly disrespectful and have zero respect towards anyone while acting like they’re top dog (pun very much so intended). News flash, you’re not. Anyways, that’s besides the point. They need to have better, extensive interviewing processes before hiring people who are obviously an extremely poor fit. As someone with management experience, I would not allow someone of that level of disrespect towards people and who has such a horrible personality to work for me any longer.

Very friendly staff! We never go to San Carlos without stopping here, and buy our dog food, supplies, treats and nail trims here. Our dogs automatically speed up when we get near the door!

I love the Ladies at Bow Wow!!’ I have been a dog owner for 8 years and have taken my dogs to them. Unfortunately my last dog passed away in January 2025 and I decided to get a cat that is a long hair.
I took my cat to Bow Wow and asked for a Lion Cut and they did such a great job. They take there time with cats because of how temperamental they can’t be. On the pricy side but the Lion cut, bath, nail trim and ear cleaning for 85.00 is well worth it and the care they give your pet!

Bow Wow Meow did a fabulous job grooming our 8-​month old Golden Retriever. They called when he was finished, and even called a few days later to see how he was doing. The pricing is very reasonable ($ 50 for puppy), and the staff is great. Will definitely be back to Bow Wow Meow in the future!

FINALLY a groomer we can trust! Emily nailed my dog Cali’s hair cut and her trust. We had a terrible experience with Pet Smart when our dog was returned with clipper cuts in 4 places on her body after they were told NOT to shave, but to trim. We were horrified when we picked her up and their «fix» was to offer us 10% off out next visit. Ummmm NO! FU Pet Smart! I am so happy with Emily at Bow Wow Meow. We will never go anywhere else. Our reaction was much different when we picked her up. It was cuteness overload! Emily, you rock! All the staff is super nice and helpful. I wish I could upload the before and after photos. It’s amazing!

Bow Wow Meow provided me and my dogs the most outstanding service. I came in to get Jackson Louie (JLo) and Nathan their yearly booster and bordatella. We came in early so we had an opportunity to look around, and their staff was just fabulous. They even gave JLo and Nathan lots of hugs and kisses. I also found out that Bow Wow Meow provides full in-​house grooming too which I did not know. They also had so many neat dog and cat treats on display. Their dog collars selections were just amazing, and very high quality.
I didn’t get the names of the two wonderful ladies that works here, but because of their knowledgeable suggestion on dog bone treats, I purchased two bone marrow that JLo and Nathan just loves. I still have it today as they digged in the backyard, buried it, and then dug it up again and brought it back to the house! :p
Thank you Bow Wow Meow for your awesome service. You’ve made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be back!

I have found the sweet spot time of when to take Bodie in for grooming… week days! Yup, this has solved «my issue» of time on the wknds.
I scheduled Bodie for an appointment on a week day, dropped him off on my way to work and than they called me and let me know when he was done, which was quick; I picked him back up and finished my work day at home! YES! this makes for the perfect grooming experience for both Bodie and I!
I love you Bow Wow Meow! We already have our next appointment scheduled, on a week day!

OH MY GOD! Pet stores are like my Disneyland version! Bobby L. and I were walking back to where I parked and I freaking saw this store so I just decided to illegally cross the street due to my excitement and enthusiasm to check this place out. WHO THE HELL DOES NOT LOVE SHOPPING FOR THEIR FURRY FRIEND??? We ended up not getting anything since my dogs have too many toys and they just destroy their beds and Bobby L. wasn’t sure what Murray needed. Yeah, shut it.
They have items for sale such as cat trees, beds, cat/​dog treats, chew toys and they even have different types of cat nip for your kitty depending on how young or senior citizen they are! I thought catnips are just catnips but it was cool to know that they are various type of catnips.
There were a couple of furry friends at the store so I was in heaven ^_​^ I read other Unilocalers’ reviews and they do grooming services and has a friendly staff.
Going back here whenever I’m in the area! ^_^

I wrote a review yesterday but it seems it disappeared. I will make it short, after making a VERY big deal about not putting my dog in any sort of dryer (she had a major episode which resulted in a huge vet bill) the groomer put my dog in the dryers and when my husband picked her up… after way too many hours there, they said «Oh, your dog does not like the dryers» and suggested we sedate our dog in order to groom her (oh yes, every 6 weeks).
Do not get your pet groomed her if you want a staff that hears you and takes care of your dog. I was hoping that if I paid more, I would get a grooming staff that would at least pay attention to my strong warnings about my dogs fear of dryers, wrong!
My dog came home thirstier than I have ever seen her and completely freaked out!

Vet bill (so far) resulting from our dog’s grooming experience @ Bow Wow Meow? $ 641 and counting.
We moved from LA last month and needed to get our Monkey groomed. He went in on friday before work. They called me around 3, saying he was ready.
I went to pick him up, and found him basically SHAVED. Uneven cut, super close to the skin around his right ear, and down to the skin on his butt. They said «he needed to be cut close because he was matted». He’s a bichon, so he gets a little matting here and there all the time.
I paid, and tipped, and left — was just so astonished that they didnt call and ask what to do. He had been far worse than that before, and the team at the Healthy Spot (in either West Hollywood or Santa Monica) would always call and let me know that they charge extra for dematting sessions. Here, no call, no nothing — just shaved and traumatized dog.
Anyhow, fast forward 4 days, and the dog isn’t pooping, eating or drinking much. So I take him to the vet. The spot where they cut super close on his butt is infected (awesome), and he’s impacted to the point that we could see his poop on the xray (which is disgusting). The vet said it was inconclusive, but that it’s possible that an improper method of anal expression may have been used and could have caused this.
I liked the store, but seriously, stay away from the grooming unless you want a nasty vet bill.

Baby Bear has been going here for a while now to get his lion cut. Let me tell you how cute he is. Nevermind, just look at his photo. He is the purrfect little lion.
I love that Bow Wow Meow calls me the day before his appointment to remind me. They are always very friendly and there are no surprises. He gets his cut. They don’t use scented cleansers. He is always very happy when I pick him up, not stressed out at all. He doesn’t «make muffins» that often but he does when I pick him up from Bow Wow Meow! He looks like his mama after I get out of my own spa day hahaha with his eyes all half closed and purring LOL.
The cost for his cut is $ 80 which includes a flea bath. I think they trimmed his nails which I understand and appreciate but didn’t ask for. The prices are going up a whopping $ 5 which will not keep us from going back.
We now live in South City and I still drive down there because they are simply the best and he doesn’t mind the car ride. I love this little store and their grooming. They also have a great selection of all things dog and cat.
If I’m going to spend my dollars, it’s going to be local and at a great small business like Bow Wow Meow.

I love these ladies. It should be enough that they laugh at the same stuff we laugh at, watch Big Bang Theory in quantity and grok’d the husband’s Schroedinger’s Cat t-​shirt. Yes, we be geeky in dis house.
Late Saturday afternoon MDH turns to me — horrified and clearly feeling awful — saying that his old cat has nails so long and turned inwards in some places that he can’t trim them himself. Husband’s heart is breaking for his old kitty. (It had been a very intense six months of work and family illnesses — kitty’s toes got overlooked).
Husband calls the Vet, convinced kitty will need surgical intervention. Vet is gone for the day. Husband’s face gets longer and more dejected looking. I said «Let’s try the nice folks down at Bow Wow Meow and see if they can help.» Husband appears near tears, although he cries maybe once a decade (movies don’t count).
So I call Bow Wow and explain the situation — not sure they’ll be able to help since they’re not vets. Sweet woman there explains «We see this a lot. It’s rarely bad enough for the vet, but if it is we’ll tell you right away. Come on in.» We go. Husband is pacing nervously, sure he’s going to get the Worst Cat Owner of the Year Award. Five minutes later, kitty emerges, mellow as can be. Staff lady says «He was great. That was nothing. We’ve seen WAY worse.»
I can’t tell you what it meant for MDH to see his beloved kitty taken care of late on a Saturday afternoon. The wait for the vet to open Monday would have been painful. Yes, the cat’s needs were paramount — ethically speaking. I love the cat too. But from my point of view, the big win was seeing hubby relax and breathe again.

Great store for everything for your furry friend (s). It’s packed full of toys, beds, carriers and food and they even do grooming.
I brought my 2 little fur babies here to get their claws clipped — $ 10 each and took less than 2 minutes and you don’t even need an appointment. They also have a vaccination clinic occasionally too which is located outside at the back of the store. Check the website for exact times and dates.
I think the variety of items here is more for dogs than cats as they have a case of Doggy treats that look like Cupcakes that they don’t have for Cats as well as bulk Dog food in the bins at the back of the store.
Skip Petco and Pet Smart and come here!
