The crafts were fun and there was a variety – they have mosaics, pottery to paint and fused glass, but its not low cost. It was 16 dollars for a small decorative box to paint and over 25 dollars do to a medium mosaic piece – you take the grout home and finish the piece yourself. The staff was very hands off, not once coming to check and see how things were going or if we had any questions, when I did have them and sought them out and they seemed put out and bored by the questions. One of the staff in particular was a very low energy appearing young woman who explained procedures as if she had done it one too many times that day and couldn’t wait until her shift was over. That was a turn off. So, if you are not well versed at these types of crafts you may not get the attention or help you need at this place. I’ve had better customer service experiences at Color Me Mine but they don’t have as much diversity with regards to the crafts available. The crafts get 4 stars, the staff and their attentiveness get 1 star.

The staff of was friendly and helpful getting us set up to paint pottery and make glass mosaics. It was a lot of fun! The place was clean and well stocked with plenty of paint.
It was a bit pricey at $ 72 for 2 pieces of pottery and 2 small 4 inch plaques plus sitting fees (½ price for kids on Mondays). A good once in awhile activity to bring our creative sides out.

We hosted a birthday party for my 11 year old and 10 of her friends. The party reservation process was easy and the women I spoke with to book and confirm were friendly and helpful. The party day was smooth sailing, easy to arrive with refreshments and quickly set up. The space was ample and inviting.
I gave only three stars because I was disappointed in the craft itself and the service from the hostess. The girls were friendly and helpful, but pretty much were hands off the entire time, We weren’t greeted as we came in the door arms full of party supplies, I had to track them down for extra glue, ask for paper towels. The party experience could really be enhanced if the party staff could provide a brief color wheel lesson or more ideas for the kids (holding up a few samples just wasn’t inspiring). For the price you pay per child, the value just isn’t there– see my photo of the mosaic frame. With a bit more advice and direction– color coaching, fitting the shapes together– the kids could have really made something fantastic.
My advice is book a painting party, the kids were done with the mosaic really quickly and the painting might have captured their interest and attention better. It’s a good thing the party staff had paper for the kids to color, we were left to fill about 20 minutes of party time with not much to do.

I agreed to watch my six year old nephew for the day and I wanted to spend time with him doing something productive.
We came to Laurel Street Arts and we had the entire place to ourselves. The very friendly older woman who was working explained where all of the paint and materials were and helped us with our aprons. I let my nephew pick out any item that he wanted (he chose a shark) and I chose a large mug and we sat down to paint.
I liked that the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing and there are many many items to choose from. The space is decorated with samples of different projects that you can create and it helps to get some inspiration of where to start since there are so many options.
I haven’t done any arts and crafts in a very long time and it felt good to just focus on creating something. It was a very relaxing and fun experience and it was nice to see my nephew get so excited about painting his shark.
The cost is a little pricey in my opinion (I spent $ 54.00 total) so, it’s not something that I would do all of the time but it was a nice way to spend a few hours of bonding time and we now each have a keepsake from that day.

I’ve been taking my kids here for the last couple years. Great place for them to do something constructive. The staff is friendly and helpful. We really enjoy stopping by time to time. Not a lot of places like this in the area.

Cute little place. Pricing can be a little expensive, don’t go in expecting to pay less than $ 25. But most of the staff are very friendly and are willing to help you in any way possible. The only reason why I give it 4 stars, is I wish they had more of a selection to choose from to paint.

Adore this place! I frequently paint pottery and wait a week for them to fire it up for me. You can stay as long as you want – they charge a flat painting fee – other places charge per hour you spend painting.
Lots of colors, brushes, stencils, water etc waiting on a table for you.
Staff is warm and affectionate; they care about your art piece just as much as you do!
They do parties and on certain days of the week, they offer promotions. I think one day is ladies night and another they do is two for the price of one painting fee.

I came here for a work event a couple weeks ago. We were doing a team building day and, being a team of all women, we decided to let our arts and crafts side out. This place is really nice. You can do pottery painting, mosaic, or glass melting art. The staff there are really nice. They are sisters/​cousins who own and work in the store, so it has that nice, down to earth vibe. They were all really helpful too in helping us decide what we wanted to do, getting the tools we needed, giving us tips, etc. Also, we had brought in food and snacks for us to munch on while working on our art and they were totally ok with that. We all decided to do the glass melting. I had never done this before but it was really fun. My little dish ended up looking really nice and I was really pleased with this. All in all our team had a really fun time there. Once we got all of our completed pieces we all wanted to go back and do more of the glass art!

Great! We hosted a fun birthday party here for my 7 year old. They were very professional and friendly with the girls. There are several options for birthday parties from painting ceramics to mosaic crafts. I appreciated how patient the staff member was with the girls (and two toddler little brothers, who were in our group as well). The studio was quiet on a Saturday morning, and Speederia Pizzeria is right down the street, so they are able to deliver pizza to Laurel Street Arts. It was a very easy birthday party for the parents, and all the kids had fun.

We hosted a birthday party here for my 6-​year-​old daughter and 8 of her friends. Though my wife handled most of the logistics before the party, I feel like I know enough to comment on the experience, which was pleasant, efficient, and fun.
Staff was mellow and organized, offering us tips and advice to ensure the party went smoothly. They gave the girls enough guidance to help them get started with their projects (each guest chose a ceramic item from a pre-​specified price range to paint/​decorate), but then left the girls to do what they liked. The staff members we worked with (Jacky and Hilary I think) were friendly, helpful, and above all extremely patient with the kids. We booked ~90 min for the project, and most of the kids decorated their items (kittens, mermaids, dolphins, for about an hour. Jacky passed out crayons and paper to mitigate the «I’m bored» situation when painting ceramics no longer held their attention, and even when the girls decided to do a «follow-​the-​leader» parade around the room, she was gracious and professional (translation: she didn’t roll her eyes and shake her head judgmentally at our inability to control the gremlins).
We were able to bring in our own food and drinks, which really helped us get kids to sit quietly for a bit (as we pumped them full of cookies and cupcakes!) before ending the party and sending them back home. The ceramic items will be ready in a week or so, which will allow my daughter to present her guests with something to accompany her thank-​you cards.
I’m not sure what the total bill was; we paid a $ 100 deposit at the time of booking and each craft was in the neighborhood of 10 – 15 bucks apiece, I think. Pizza at Speederia and goodies for gift bags and balloons from Diddams completed the expenditures, and all in all it was money extremely well spent. I’d definitely recommend having a small party here for kids (or even adults) who like to get a bit crafty. Wonder if they have an alcohol policy… could make for an interesting happy hour/​teambuilding event for a corporate setting. Wow, do I sound domesticated or what?! In any event, check out Laurel Street Arts. It is a wonderful local business that supports your creative side. Happy crafting!

Let Your Creativity Flow!
Went for a team event and had the best time. The owners/​managers are amazing and so helpful. We did glass fusing and couldn’t believe how easy it was. The employees are «hands on». They explain the process to you and show you the options and are available for questions/​ideas. We learned glass cutting techniques and about the various pieces of glass and how to glue it.
The store allowed us to bring in food and beverage which was so convenient. Our products were done in less than the quoted time and when we picked them up we loved our creations. I will definitely be coming back with my Nieces and Nephews as well as other coworkers.
Laurel Street Arts is the place to go for fun and creativity.

Nice place for a kid’s party — I just had my daughter’s 8ye old mosaic party there and the kids loved it! The staff was however very reluctant to help the kids — they just explained the rules and seemed like they were doing us a favor when we asked for extra hands to help the kids with selecting their materials and gluing. They also were reluctant to help with the cake set up and serving. Overall a nice place to have a party but just make sure you have enough hands to help in order to make it a stress free experience

A very fun place for pottery painting and glass arts! Very kid friendly, good for individuals and parties.
Parking is usually not an issue. They have a parking lot behind the store and lots of street parking available.

We LOVE painting our own ceramics… it’s so much fun!
The ladies at Laurel Street Arts are helpful and great with kids… we have so much fun there… there’s only 2 problems:
–a bit of a drive from us
–wish they offer better quality green wares… we spend so much time and effort on painting them… porcelain would be great! But as my hubby said… not everyone is like us…
Can’t wait to go back again soon!

Oooooh I love my glass candy dishes!
My friend and I dropped in one Saturday afternoon and designed a couple of glass squares, to be fired/​molded into candy dishes. The staff were super helpful, giving us tips and tricks on how to make our artwork pretty.
We were there for about 90 minutes total — choosing our items, getting the tutorial and then designing our dishes. It cost us each $ 35. That includes the facility fee, tutorial, supplies, firing and mold. The bigger your item, the more expensive the price… obviously.
I picked up our items a week later and just loved the results!

PROS: Cheaper than other places like Color Me Mine, easy going place –I was able to paint with coffee I brought in and play music, good variety of ceramic items to choose from, and stencils.
CONS: Not enough paint colors and I’m not sure why the thinner brushes are kept at a different place than the rest of the supplies.
**They don’t call when your items are ready. It is suppose to be assumed that after a week, it is ready for pick up. Okay… but what if its not?

Came here for my friend’s baby shower with a small group. We decided to paint some tiles and put them together for the baby’s room. For those who are not very artistic (like myself), this place provides stencils (thank god!) for easy painting. They have various colors to choose from and the lady was very helpful.
Nice chill environment and great for bringing out your creative side!

This place is a gem! Really fun place to make crafts, and has a nice helpful staff. Have gone twice for there Diva Nights where you can bring food and work on a project later in the evening.
Items can be pricey for a big item or fancy glass but they are VERY honest about telling you that, so you won’t get into a project and find out it is over your price point.

Nice place for a children’s birthday party. Came here for my nephew’s ® first birthday party. There were about 20 kids there painting various objects. My nieces painted a cup and a firetruck. There was a variety of paint colors for them to choose from. It was a nice and relaxing party where kids don’t get all tired from running around. The place was arranged as long tables with benches on either side which was nice, and there was room for adults to mingle and catch up with each other and check in on the kids too.
They also got the footprints of the babies, since they were too young to paint and moved around a lot which would make it difficult to do handprints. They got my nephew’s footprint, and then my brother-​in-​law painted around it.
They then collect all the pottery and will glaze it and call when the pieces of are ready.
Afterwards, we had food that we had ordered and brought it. So we had ourselves some pizza, wings, and fruit. Great, because the kids got to sit down at the long tables again.
Good venue. Would be a fun place for adults to come and do some pottery together as well.
They also had more tables in the back so people who were walking in and/​or were not part of the party could still paint.
It also wasn’t difficult to find parking around there for a Sunday around noonish.
