Bagels are decent, but not worth the abusive service. The family that owns this is rude, especially the older woman who barks if you take more than 5 seconds to decide which bagel you want! I only come here in a pinch, and every time I do, I remember how rude they are! Take your business somewhere they appreciate their customers.

Best Bagels in the Peninsula! Our office has been having Bagel Wednesday for a few months now. Everyone loves the bagels. We have referred many people to your store. We love the freshness, the service and the consistency!

Well I guess I am not the only one who questions their customer service. Chose HOB to get the challahs, rye breads and bagels for my daughters bat mitzvah. When the caterer brought the items, the rye bread was missing. Did anyone from HOB let me know right away that the order was short? No! I had to send my husband to run and find replacement rye breads which turned out to be more expensive. I called the HOB after the event and they said to come back and they would give me my money back. When I went back, I nicely told Kenny that it was a big inconvenience that you shorted us on this special day and that in all fairness they should really give us $ 12.00 because the replacement rye breads were more money. He said absolutely not and blamed it on their warehouse and added that he doesn’t want to even offer challahs, etc because it is a big headache. Is that my concern? I paid them $ 99.00 and they haggle over $ 2.00. Not only did they lose a customer but if any of my friends are looking for bat mitzvah food, I will never recommend anyone to go there.

Great Bagels ! In the morning the line can get a little long but they work hard to complete orders as fast as they can. Have enjoyed these bagels for many years.

Excellent bagels(the wife and I had the #7 with added jalapeños!!). Advice: on plain bagel with spread, ask for a little less spread and for them to cut it in half; otherwise it gets vey messy to eat.

Solid place for bagels. The seating area isn’t luxurious or anything, but the group of people running the cashier and tending to the bagels definitely know what they’re doing. Catch the line on Saturday– you’ll definitely see people ordering melts, open-face sandwiches, and delicious deluxe flavors. Go for a regular bagel though. That stuff is inexpensive, delicious, and well worth the time!

I’m from LA so when it comes to bagels, I have high expectations. In the two years I’ve lived here, I haven’t found a bagel shop that wows me. But man, House of Bagels makes one fantastic bagel. Perfectly toasted, perfect amount of cream cheese. It’s a good thing I don’t live walking distance or I’d be there everyday. Give them a try!

Super tasty bagels, excellent service and prices. This is our go-to for breakfast. We love their cheddar/Asiago/jalapeño bagels in a variety of forms — hummus, cream cheese, and my personal favorite, whitefish. For little ones, they have mini bagels for less than $ 1.

I really liked the bagels they have, and their menu options are great! Went there for a late breakfast, and though they were out of some of the good bagels, I got a great meal. Will go again.

This is pretty much our to-go bagel place at this point. It’s not even close to what you can get on the east coast, but as far as SF Bay Area goes, it’s consistent and has a pretty big selection of bagel sandwiches. They also have a decent bottled drink selection here. The owners are very nice and seem to know their regulars. They also have a tiny seating area if you decide to eat there.

I’ve only been here once but my bagel was delicious. I got a sausage omelet bagel– egg, cheese, and sausage. It was hot, the cheese was melted, and their bagels alone are delicious. I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because the aesthetics of the place are pretty lacking. If they cleaned up a bit it would help its appeal a lot. Other than that it was a great bagel experience!

House of Bagels has some of the best bagels in the Bay Area. Can never go back to Noah’s after having quality bagels at HOB.

I think House of Bagels likely offers the best bagel you can get here in the Bay area. This place does not disappoint even for us East Coasters! The«All in One» or everything is pretty damn awesome, especially when you add Lox and go all the way(cream cheese, sprouts, red onion, tomatoes and cucumbers). My only complaint would be that the tomatoes were mushy and that is just not cool! So once I disposed of those(it IS tomato season…), I was super happy. If you’re craving a bagel, this is your place!

Cute little hole in the wall in downtown San Carlos but nothing worth raving about. While they do a pretty good breakfast sandwich, it wasn’t the best I’ve had, nor the worst, it was okay. Came here cause we were looking for a nice place to get a good breakfast sandwich bagel and saw the great ratings. I don’t know if it’s necessarily worth the drive from San Mateo…

I was craving bagels for like two weeks, and this place does NOTDISAPPOINT. I ordered an everything bagel with the garlic and herb cream cheese and my friend ordered the lox bagel with everything on it. I loved that my bagel didn’t have a distinguishable top and bottom(if that makes sense). Both halves had equal amount of flavor, and it was just THAT much better. We were both super happy with our bagels, and it was so nice just sitting outside and being content and happy. I wish there was a place like this close to where I live. It’s everything you’re looking for in a bagel place. Kind of small, smells yummy, family-owned vibe, and SOMANYOPTIONS! Definitely coming back if I’m in the area!

Very good! My mom took a whole wheat bagel with the Lite Strawberry Cream Cheese spread and I took 3 mini plain bagels with Lite Strawberry Cream Cheese and Regular Cream Cheese. The strawberry cream cheese was so good! Best I’ve tried. Delicious and fresh bagels. The store smells amazing!

The House of Bagels is a master class in how to court both the texture and the aroma, imbued with an air of extravagant flavor. The bagels are crispy and soft in equal measure and uniformly taste which give an astounding breakfast experience. I’ve been coming here for years now and The House of Bagels has never ceased to impress.

Had the lox bagel on a jalapeño bagel which had cream cheese, lox, tomato, onion, sprouts. I liked the sandwich but the bagel itself was mediocre.

Don’t be scared off by the long line on weekends. They work as fast as they can. Efficient service although on occasion they have gotten my order wrong. Good bagel sandwiches. I’ve had one with: — sausage, egg and cheese — bacon, egg and cheese — jalapeño egg and cheese Other bagels I like there: chocolate chip, cinnamon sugar, all in one. Family owned. Nice people.
