San Carlos Art & Wine Faire

I think this art and wine fest are one of the better ones in the bay area. I like the artists that come here, but they tend to be the same year over year. I think they should find some new local artists to showcase.
Last year we found a guy who was selling some really nice photos, and we were able to purchase a great photo of some forest in Columbia Gorge Oregon. It’s now hanging up in the living room.
I think that the price for the wine is more on the spendy side, compared to similar art and wine fests in the area. The wine vendors were not amazing, but if the price tag was a little lower, I’d be more OK with that.
Overall, a nice art and wine fest, but has room for improvement.

Always have a great time a this Faire. the beer and wine selections are good. Most of the craft booths are the same at all bay area faires. They also have some classic cars at this faire.
Food booths are better than average. BBQ oysters and some good food trucks are at this one.

Yea! THANK YOU Unilocal for the free glasses! This was my second time to the San Carlos Art & Wine Fair. This year it seemed like there were less vendors, but overall still had a great time. The event is laid out really well with regards to the variety of vendors and food options are sprinkled in throughout the event.
Parking can be a little bit of a pain but plan on parking further out towards Belmont to find parking or even better, take caltrain. Also, drinks can be pretty expensive so plan on sharing or just plan on arriving in a mindset that this event is going to be $$. Basically about $ 6 for a glass and then $ 7 for a glass of wine/​beer.

I’ve been to a few festivals and most of them were mediocre with similar vendors and whatnot. I thought this one would be the same but I was quite pleased with the variety of vendors here. There were just streets and streets of local merchants and wine. Not as much artwork (e.g paintings) as I would think but still nice to look.

I always like this time of the Year since I’m a Libra .and this Art and Wine Faire is one of the Bigger ones on the Peninsula.

This Festival is Huge it has it all Lots Of Crafts and Art to look at, Lots Of Food Vendors, Food Trucks and Lots of Beautiful Women in Summer Attire .
Plus Laurel street has a lot of great Restaurant’s to choose from like Town, The Refuge and Plenty of Others.
They also have Live Music and a Mini Car Show .
Pro Tip if you can take Cal Train do so parking can be Challenging.

Had a really nice time here. Easy to get to in the Bay Area. Convenient parking close by. Beer and wine a tad expensive at $ 7. No tastings. It was a gorgeous day when we visited — was nice to sip wine and walk around looking at the vendors. Some Restaurants on the side of the street were offering free samples.
Had to duck into one of the restaurants to go to the bathroom.
Overall one of the better festivals in the area.

I love going to the Art and Wine Festival in San Carlos! Domenico Winery pours at the event and you can also drink from Devil’s Canyon Brewery. Both are great.
Parking can be a little tricky, but that’s not a surprise.
Finding places to go to the bathroom can be a challenge.

Every year this festival comes to town and every year its bigger, better, more fantastic, more wonderful, and more fun.
I went with my mom and we had a blast.
Theres so many things going on at this time every year an things that involve a lot of traffic and finding it impossible to find parking very much unlike this festival which is great.
I suggest this festival over any other this day every yr.
I’ve gotten a lot of great free stuff and samples here.
It was great feeling like a king for a day.
They have a booth that give free massages too.
Everyone seems happy and cool at the festival.
The music is always great too.
Its a great way to really get to know the town if your not familiar and its also a great way to have fun in the town especially if you are from here

Bigger than you would think! This faire was great. Nice people, lots of beer/​wine stops scattered throughout the faire and right in the heart of San Carlos. I stopped by Refuge after strolling and wine tasting.

This is another good one in the bay area, and clearly it shows by the nice variety of vendors that turn out including some out of town vendors. The festival takes place on lovely Laurel St. which is lined by a variety of different restaurants offering different cuisines.
There are your typical guilty festival food fares here to indulge in. The surroundings are fun and pleasant– no hoodlum types or members of classless decorum. They had some live music. There is quality beer and wine. They even offered a champagne glass this year for those who love bubbly. If you like shopping for interesting stuff for the house or to wear, there is a good amount of creativity in the arts and get a unique piece. This was a great way to spend a weekend day with family, friends or just your significant other.

After a short time finding street parking, which wasn’t too bad at around 2:30pm, I wondered to the first booth I found where they were providing cups ($ 6) and tokens ($ 7). I mentioned my name should be on a list where I’d get 2 free glasses which quickly resulted in the lady giving me a look that resembles «ha ha, this kid must be quite the joker (you aren’t going to pull a fast one on me)» but she simple said «no, we don’t do that». I give up and reread the email I received from Unilocal which told me to find the Information booth where I’d be able to do this. Shortly after clearly reading instructions (bad habit I’ve developed of not doing so) we found our way to the info booth where they were happy to give us two glass cups and also a Unilocal tote bag for checking in! The streets were filled with booths of toys, snacks, drinks, arts, and a lot of little things. There was even a car show down one street. If it was closer I’d come again tomorrow and take another stroll cause it was a nice sunny day to enjoy a beer, eat some bbq, and walk down the streets of San Carlos. I only wish I’d come earlier to try some of the crabcakes one of the booths were serving but ran out.

RIght across from the Caltrain station, this Faire is a fun way to check out San Carlos’ local businesses while enjoying some arts, crafts, & wine!

The guy working at the booth gave me some trouble when I asked for them since he didn’t know anything about it. I wish he weren’t so rude and condescending about it, but oh well.
Tokens for etoh were $ 6, I stuck to Coppola Pinot Noir but they had a pretty good wine selection as well as beer.
The workers pouring wine were very friendly and informative in explaining the notes. The food court offered a diverse selection of grub and if nothing tickled your fancy, you could always go to one of the local restaurants.
I’m glad my S.O. and I decided to spend a sunny afternoon here. Oh yeah, the cars were pretty spiffy too! :)

I was so happy I made it this year! I sadly missed the opportunity to get my beer glass last year due to a family emergency.
Downtown San Carlos is at its liveliest during this time of the year. Many people from this small and quiet city, and even people from afar (in my case, Fremont) gather to walk around and experience the festive vibe, see the beautiful and/​or eccentric art pieces, and get glasses of wine and beer through little wooden tokens.
The fair does not solely cater to art lovers and booze drinkers, however. Foodies will definitely enjoy all the street foods being sold throughout laurel and so as the restaurants around town. The little down side is that they only have a few tables at the eating area, which meant I had to find a closed establishment with some form of a window where I can leave my glass of beer while enjoying my cheesesteak at the same time. In the end, it added to the fun experience I had. I will definitely come back next year!

this was a really nice art and wine fest, and sadly, for me at least, the last one of the 2013 festival season as the cooler weather rolls in. i was extremely pleased that the weather was perfect yesterday, about 60 and sunny when i arrived, and lots of locals were out and about, checking out works of art, browsing unique pieces of clothing, sampling some local wine and beer and tasting some delicious food! even though the faire only spanned 3 blocks on laurel st and 2 blocks on san carlos ave, the organizers sure did pack a lot of vendors, food stands, and entertainment into this area! i definitely felt the excitement and positive vibes as i strolled up and down each block of the festival.
my only minor complaint is the parking, since there aren’t many parking lots in downtown san carlos, just street parking, which was unavailable due to the local vendors needing this space to set up their tents and booths. many of the streets surrounding downtown san carlos had free parking, but they were all filled up when i arrived. after driving around for some time, i finally lucked out and got a space about a block from the san carlos ave entrance to the faire. word to the wise, and future faire visitors: get there early if you want to find parking!

This is one of my favorite street fairs… It’s free, it’s big, it’s not super crowded, and you can drink while out and about.
The vendors also always have specials, and the stores/​restaurants on the street are open. There’s also a vintage car show so that’s fun for the boys too.
There were lots of vendors giving away free reusable shopping bags this year and that’s totally a win too since you can never have too many of those!

San Carlos, what a beautiful quaint little locals town. During the San Carlos Art & Wine Faire, they close the whole street and put up a bunch of kiosks selling local crafts, art, food, and chatchkis. Parking is a cinch along the main road, El Camino Real. On the other side, there are some parking lots made out of dirt that you can park your car on.
It’s extremely kid friendly as there are different things set up for them, from little performance acts, to singing, and dancing. And it’s great for grown ups. Buy yourself a glass ($ 6.00) and some tokens ($ 6.00 each) that can be redeemed for pints of beer. Then enjoy that glass as you walk down the street and take in the sun. And when your’e all done, take the glass home!
Say hi to the locals. Enjoy the festivities. Have a beer. A good ol’ time out in town.

First-​time visitor! Glad I came! Saturday was such a nice day for it.
Due to the largesse of Unilocal,I received two glasses: I chose one beer, one wine. Plus, I received some Unilocal schwag for checking in (chose the lip balm). Nice little souvenir of the day!
Now having visited a gajillion of these art and wine festivals, I will say that this is one of the better ones in the area, for a few reasons:
1) They had better wine than many of the fair (e)s I’ve attended. Gloria Ferrer; Coppola; Simi; others. And of course… the local, Domenico.
2) I liked that I had the choice of eating food from one of the many booths OR eating at one of Laurel Ave’s restaurants with sidewalk seating. (Corollary: A number of the businesses smartly had stuff going on outside, too — samples, informational tables, sales, etc.)
3) Classic cars! What a nice treat.
4) A good mix of vendors. Seems like a good chunk of them were fairly local, too.
5) Crowd is pretty mellow, but is still having a good time. Not as much random milling about — and unapologetic running-​into — as in Mountain View.
6) The time of year — it’s still warm, but not brutally so.
My one beef: The festival posters clearly say NO PETS yet there were dogs alllll over. I get that you’d want to have your dogs out and about with you on a nice day — but really, when a stranger sits at a table next to you and lets their dog stare at you as you eat, that’s a little annoying. Furthermore, it made the streets that much harder to navigate. Therefore I hope that next year, the festival organizers work a little harder to communicate the «no pets» rule apart from a small mention on the poster — be it through larger signs, people posted at the festival entries, etc. Either that, or change the rule. I have a feeling that getting San Carlans to separate themselves from their dogs is not the easiest thing in the world.
All in all, I highly recommend that you visit this fair (e)!

A fun day out. The sun was bright and the location is right by the CalTrain stop. How’s that for convenient? In addition to the many booths of crafts, and the awesome selection of food, this is a great zone for shops as well. For $ 6 you can get a painted beer mug, wine glass or engraved flute. Once you have that, a $ 6 token gets you a glass-​full.
It was a very fun day. A very family friendly atmosphere and some of the booths had some great artwork and other crafts. The selection was fantastic.
I did expect more wine at a «Wine Festival» though. I’m told I just missed them. Perhaps I was overwhelmed by all the other stuff. It’s not really a down side, I just remember saying «hey, where’s the wine» a couple of times.

A great way to spend a sunny weekend afternoon! Thanks to Unilocal,I got 2 complimentary beer glasses (you could also get wine glasses) and a piece of Unilocal swag! Besides the free stuff, there were 3 blocks of art to browse through — everything from paintings to jewelry to Christmas elves! At each intersection was also plenty of wine, beer, and food vendors to keep your tummy filled and happy. I really enjoyed the hef by Sierra Nevada ($ 6 for a large glass) and the grilled corn ($ 3 on the cob, $ 4 in a cup). They had cheese, salt, and paprika/​red pepper to season yours how you like it.
Parking was pretty easy; there are a couple lots that have free 2hr parking. With free admission, what more could you ask for on a lazy Saturday?

Only at a Wine Faire can you walk around the streets Wine glass in hand doing your shopping. It certainly perked up my shopping spree a little!
Nice Faire in the heart of San Carlos. This once a year event has a good amount of local Wine’s and Art and crafts booths as well as some Classic Car’s on display and food vendors (Garlic Fries, Burgers, Funnel Cake, Thai Kebab’s, Corn Dogs, Gyros, Fish & Chips to name a few). There was/​is also a stage setup for live entertainment and a ”family fun zone” which consisted of activities such as Face Painting, Henna Tattoos and a children’s Obstacle Course.
This was the second year that I have been and dropped by for a short while today to enjoy a lazy afternoon browsing and was lucky enough to be given a couple of complimentary Wine glasses. Thank you to both the organizers who gave these to Unilocal and of course Abby for picking me as one of the Elite’s to get them.
Wine and Beer was available to purchase with tokens at $ 6 each plus $ 6 for the glass. Parking was surprisingly easy.
