San Carlos Transmission & Engine Repair

From the moment I first came to this shop, Rudy hands down is the most professional person I’ve ever encountered after going through many different quotes from different transmission shops. I briefly explained my issue and Rudy first took out a piece of paper, a pen and drew out while explaining what exactly was wrong with my transmission. The best thing about Rudy was the fact that he was giving me really good quotes for all the parts and labor that followed along initially. I had good faith should anything come up, Rudy would make sure I’d be the first to know before moving forward with the situation.
I received a call from Rudy explaining another problem with my transmission involving the clutch and flywheel. After receiving a great first impression, I went with his recommendation and followed through with it. During the time, Rudy discovered I required a slave cylinder for my transmission and went out of his way to find this part only to discover the cylinder itself only came in a clutch and slave cylinder kits which was beyond his control. I could tell over the phone Rudy was trying his best to make sure I didn’t have to pay to much for a kit when the parts can be bought separately, and was trying to not even delay to much time on the repairs.
I decided to just go with the kit instead, despite the unexpected price of a kit that had to be purchased, I can honestly say Rudy is a amazing person who will surely not displease you. I would say do take the time to listen to him carefully and I would highly recommend asking him questions for the answers are extremely thorough!
I tip my hat to this place for a wonderful job, I will certainly come back here if I ever encounter another issue. I even asked Rudy if I should purchase my own parts and bring it to him for future jobs and he highly encourages it, since he will only charge you the labor aspect only. This place definitely gets my 5 stars!

Rudy is amazing and genuine. I normally do not go to mechanic shops so I was a bit nervous. My Jeep Wrangler need to have the full clutch replaced and some sealing of other parts. After calling two transmission shops and receiving about the same quote, I chose Rudy and San Carlos Transmission because Rudy sounded sincere. A girls intuition ;). Rudy called me twice with an update and progress report. He called once to tell me that the part that was less expensive would not fit properly and that it is best to go with the kit. When I picked up the car, Rudy showed me all the part he replaced and even explained how they worked in the car.

Came for my car towed it to the shop checked transmission, called with estimate,
Rebuilt it, guaranteed it for one year. Car was ready in seven days. Went to another shop and the situation was horrible. Not offen your transmission goes out, thank goodness for this guy (Rudy). He does many other types of auto work also.

Had my transfer case repaired in my 2003 GMC Yukon. Another garage wanted to charge me $ 600 more to do the same job. Rudy is very honest and went over the damage with me thoroughly. He showed me the actual parts that he replaced that were damaged. Even included the parts list so I can even price the parts myself. I recommend getting your transmission repairs done here.

Rudy really knows transmissions; I mean realy well. He takes the time to explain in terms you can understand. Completely honest and trustworthy. I would follow any advice he gives me. A genuine person. He replaced my transmission for less than other estimates, with great results.
