Absolute Pawfection is raising the bar on grooming and pet food in San Diego. Our mission is to have the best looking cats and dogs — inside and out. Our clients come first, we provide the highest quality grooming service and selection of natural pet food, toys, and treats. We also have giving back to pets in need a part of our corporate mission, we partner with nonprofits in the community and host pet food drives, fundraisers, and rescue events.

Our services include but are not limited to…

Bath’s, brush-​outs (de-​shedding treatments), haircuts, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, nail trimming and filing, teeth brushing, flea treatments, skunk treatments, and more! We also offer non-​anesthesia teeth cleaning once a month at each location which is supervised by veterinarians.

Both Absolute Pawfection locations offer a wide array of all-​natural and healthy pet food, toys, and treats! All foods are screened and free of corn, wheat or soy as well as made in the US, New Zealand and Canada — the highest standards for pet food.

Established in 2012.

Absolute Pawfection was founded in 2012 with one mobile grooming van and was quickly awarded a TopFive San Diego A-​List Company. Myke Ross and team now offer 2 mobile grooming vans and 2 storefronts supported by 8 certified groomers and knowledgeable staff qualified in pet first aid.

Business Owner

Myke has been grooming since 2005. During that time, he has managed two grooming salons in the San Diego area. He adores all dogs (no matter. How large or small) and cats, and takes pride in giving quality grooming to every one of them with a loving and gentile hand.

During his career, Myke has apprenticed with hands-​on training under four seasoned groomers. He is involved in the grooming community, as a member of International Professional Groomers (IPG), Southern California Progessional Groomers Association (SCPGA), and the Professional Cat Groomers Association (PCGAA).

Myke stays on the cutting edge of grooming trends, products and technology by attending a variety of grooming conventions for Continuing education, as well as networking with other professional groomers on a global basis.

In the unlikely case of an emergency, Myke is also certified in pet CPR and first aid.

Myke is the proud parent of six dogs; Phillip, Rowdy, Jolie, Sophie, Beaux, and Slick… all rescues.

Absolute Pawfection is terrific, overall, and groomer Sara Barbour is MY HERO. I love her and would not take my two dogs anywhere else.
She is the ONLY groomer ever who has been able to successfully trim my «difficult» dog’s nails (yes, the only… I had one groomer give up on him even after putting him in a muzzle, but Sara gets it done with no problem at all, and my dog stays amazingly calm in her care), and she does an awesome job with my other dog, who has long hair and gets the full groom service. She is detailed, thorough, cuts my dog’s hair exactly as I ask, and she’s so caring and gentle. My mother recently brought an old, blind rescue dog to her who didn’t like to be touched, and she made him look good as new.
I would give Sara even more stars if I could!

I saw an ad for this place and decided to give it a try. It was my first time taking our new dog to the groomers so I wasn’t sure what to expect but it turned out to be an excellent experience. Our groomer, Megan, was amazing. She greeted our dog and made him comfortable before taking him back. The rest of the staff was super friendly as well. When I returned our dog seemed like he had been well taken care of and happy. His haircut was perfect. He was so amazingly soft and clean. Passerby’s were stopping us all day to tell us how cute our dog looked! I will be coming here from now on!

Got my dogs groomed today. They are super cute and soft w/​great cuts. The staff was friendly and even told me about their new client coupon savings. The groomer was able to give me a pretty accurate timeframe in which I could expect to pick up the dogs. That was much appreciated.

I only trust my pooch with one groomer, Megan, and I would follow her to any salon. What’s great about Absolute Pawfection is that each groomer has a private room, so it’s just one-​on-​one with your dog and the groomer, instead of an open grooming floor where all the dogs can see each other and the other groomers/​foot traffic/​etc. This means that if your dog is the excitable or easily distracted type, this will help keep them calm. They can also dye your dog with animal safe dyes if you’re the type who likes to have a little fun with your dog’s looks.

I made my appointment 2 days ago for my cat’s lion cut. The people are very friendly and the groomer did a very good job. It only took one hour to get it done. They also gave me lots of food samples and coupons.

This place is terrible. I usually go to a place in Birdrock but they were all booked up. Absolute Pawfection had great Unilocal reviews and is much closer to my house so I decided to try them. When I got my dog back there was still soap in her undercoat. She felt greasy and her hair was not clean. They also did not dry out the inside of her ears and almost all her toenails were cut way too short and super sensitive. One was even bleeding. I had to rinse and dry her again at home just to get the excess soap out AND whatever products they use must be awful because only a few days after my dogs skin completely scabbed over and started peeling. Her hair on her back has been falling out in clumps and she has scaly skin all over her back where the soap was left on. Every time I try to call they never pick up the phone so I am resorting to writing a Unilocal review. Please don’t take your dog here. My poor dog is now suffering over someone’s ineptness at shampooing an animal. I had to take my dog to the vet and they told me her skin looked like they had they not gotten all the soap off which basically caused a sort of chemical burn. She now has to be on a steroid treatment and we are waiting for her hair to grow back. Im so angry this happened to her. What a waste of $ 50.

The best haircut for my pom yet! We usually go to a shop a lot further from home, but decided to look into places nearby instead. We tried Absolute Pawfection and we were not disappointed! Excellent! The best grooming place I’ve been to. The people there are so friendly and professional. They even gave me a bunch of food samples for my dog to to out. (At least $ 30 worth of food!)

Myke is amazing! Not only is he an amazing groomer, but he really cares for each dog & client. He listens to questions & he graciously shares all of his knowledge & suggestions.
When I walked into the Sorrento Valley location it blew me away! The grooming area is so clean & spacious. He’s also got an unbelievable selection of healthy foods, treats, toys & grooming supplies all at awesome prices!
We’ve taken both of our Bolos to Absolute Pawfection & LOVE the way they look & smell when they’re all done. The Leucadia location is closer to home, but I’ll be going to the Sorrento Valley location to buy my dog food now too! His employees are super courteous as well.

Well, what direction should I take this review? I mean… I can only think of one.
This place is located in Sorrento Valley, hidden within other buildings but you wont miss their big «Absolute Pawfection» truck that will tell you exactly where they are.
Upon walking in, we were greeted immediately — the place was filled with just positivity. It was neatly organized and the first thing I noticed was the chic display of dog treats and toys. By the register — they had organic all natural treats for dogs that look like donuts, cupcakes etc. perfect for doggy birthdays or special treats :)
The groomer (I forgot her name, she was a lady with blond hair) took my dog in and told us the wait to be around 1hr. Ziggy (my pup) immediately felt at home. He was not squirmy, whiny or filled with anxiety. He was happy to go with her for his much needed spa day.
When we returned, ziggy was good was new! his cut was perfect, his teeth was brushed, his ears were perfectly trimmed, his glands expressed, his nails cut to perfect length and his paws were soft! and he had a little yellow scarf around his neck SOOOOO ADORABLE!
It was overall a great experience, they were short staffed since someone called in sick so the other groomer (a lad) took the liberty on ringing me up. He gave us good advice on food as well as ziggy’s teeth condition (which was good, we bought a spray thing that got rid of plaque buildup) and he also offered to give us food samples that ziggy ended up really likin’! so thank you Absolute Pawfection! we will return :)

Took my dog Missy here for the first time. It was her first time being groomed and she came home adorable and happy. She’s usually scared around new people but Sarah was very sweet with her. What an incredible find! I took my dogs to Absolute Pawfection because I saw all the 5 Stars on Unilocal!Well they weren’t wrong, Mike was amazing, he was so gentle with them. They got to run around in a big open space before their cuts. My dog was like a kid in a candy store sniffing all the wonderful treats they have. When I picked them up their cuts were the best they have ever had. So glad I found this wonderful place :)

Yay! I’m so so so glad Myke opened up this store near my house. We had him groom Maggie via the mobile groomer and decided it was too expensive for our budget and went somewhere else in between… which came out to be a disaster. We finally called Absolute Pawfection up and Maggie came home looking as cute as ever! My boyfriend took her in this time and also got some advice on her tear stains and bought some food and a chew for her as well. It all came out to be very affordable and we will definitely be back!
