To look at the gleaming bays and classic cars and spotless uniforms at Absolute Perfection, you’d never guess what it really takes to make car service seem so effortless. But shine a light into the shop at dawn on a Sunday and watch as the lucky boss plays catch up on the backlog, and you’ll realize it’s called work for a reason.

It’s strange to admit this: A few months ago I found myself partying on a Saturday night, surrounded by hookahs, ice-​filled vodka slides, and blingy cars. The event wasn’t held at an edgy club or an over-​the-​top designer home, but at my car mechanic’s garage. Before you jump to the wrong conclusions, you must first know that I’m not what you’d consider a «car person,» and secondly, I barely knew the guy (he fixed my car, gave great car washes, and once let me park at his shop for free when I had a plane to catch). When only the BEST will do, do Absolute Perfection or nothing at all! I just love Absolute Perfection. Everything about them is great and here’s why: The staff is very nice and most knowledgeable. They have a real sense of ownership and pride of work that I’ve never seen anywhere else. They use their talent and know how to bring out the very best in your vehicle. I have a Honda S-​2000, a Mercedes GLK 350, and a VW Tiguan and I will never take my vehicles anywhere else for body work or restoration work — PERIOD!

Had a «non-​contact hit-​and-​run» late Dec. 2015, by a late model silver Nisan Altima, on 5 south, that wanted my lane NOW, shortly after Grape St on ramp. My 2-​year-​old FR-​S was hit left rear by other driver. Ended up 50⁄50 liability. Met with Travis at AP who quickly set me up with insurance, booked my repair and did a fantastic job to the point you can’t tell a difference. Car is Clean and techs look serious working on all the cars with care. Jen took care of all the paperwork, handled my bill quickly and was always very friendly. They actually have you come back a few weeks following repair /​paint, to professionally wax the area affected. I’ll recommend Travis, Jen, the seriously professional techs at Absolute Perfection, to anyone. Where normally this is an unpleasant experience, this was a all positive. Coming back for their wax service where they use top end products.

I’ve taken my car to a few places for body work and, by far, Absolute Perfection, was the best… value, work, service.
I have a BMW and Absolute has done repair on my car in addition to doing a ‘cut/​buff’. The repair work was done to perfection… color and workmanship and was the best price when compared to a few other shops.
As for the cut/​buff, my car is 7 years old and Absolute recommended this process in which they sand the clearcoat to get rid of imperfections and then buff it to a shine. In short, my car looked like it just got a brand new paint job. I have received many compliments on my car since.
Overall, as other reviews have pointed out, Mario and his team are passionate about and take much pride in the work they do. Absolute Perfection lives up to its name and what’s refreshing is that you don’t feel that you’ve been ‘had’…their pricing is very fair, especially given the quality of workmanship and service. Great job Absolute, you’ve earned my business!

I live downtown and am a serious performance and off-​road driver. I have some expensive toys and want to take care of them so they take care of me for a LONG TIME. Lucky for me, I am just a few blocks from Travis and Josh at Absolute Perfection. These guys are the go-​to experts on detailing, no doubt. But more than that, they have a full restoration shop. Curb rash on that expensive Beemer front end? Been there… they can handle it. Want to paint your entire vehicle matt grey? Yup, they’ve done it before. I had them rhino liner my Jeeps front grill and stock aluminum wheels. Bitchin! Craftsmen, great attention to detail, super fair pricing. I’m on my way to Maine! in my Jeep and am having them clean it up before the voyage. It’ll be another beautiful job. So see these guys for detailing, paint, body repair and tell them David sent you. You’re gonna be happy.

This is the place that people who care about their cars go.
This is the place where people who know next to nothing about cars go to rest easy. For all of you anxious, wallet clutching, automotive innocents… Breathe easy.
I love my car. I am also neurotic about detail and quality. I drove around to several places in San Diego to get a sense of them and their work, I wanted to find a place I could rely on whether it was for paint/​body work, tinting or general washing.
From the moment that you walk in till the moment you leave, you get a level of respect and consideration that is not only appreciated but is generally not associated with being in an auto body shop. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten into my car without having someone walk me out and open the door for me. They are friendly, they remember your name, they care about what they do.
They will take their time to answer all of your questions no matter how ridiculous or inane they may seem. I didn’t get any attitude or pressure or industry speak that goes over my head.
They take their time to get the details right, I won’t get my car washed anywhere else. For the price, they set the bar.
Absolute Perfection has my loyalty and I plan to use them for all my upcoming work.

I had my vehicle fully detailed at Absolute Perfection Auto Spa and once again I am thoroughly satisfied. I had my wife’s car done a few months back and was floored by how great it looked so I had mine done too. This is by far the best auto detailing experience I have ever had and now no longer need to look. They also do auto body to repair scratches!

Mario and his team are hands down the best in business. They are passionate about what they do, so if you live in Southern California and love your car then go here. You won’t find a better company to take care of your car. And they take care of you like you’re part of the family and are so welcoming.
I have two higher end cars and I wouldn’t trust anyone but them to get it right if something was damaged or if I wanted custom work. I’ve taken my Porsche here for repair of a really bad ding on the the wheel well from an object that fell from the ceiling of the garage and recently I was in an accident in my new car that had a custom paint job and it needed body work, these guys literally returned both cars better than it was when I bought them!
I’ve also had detail work done here to an old Subaru, the work was so good and gave it back some life and kept me driving it for a few more years.
If you need a better recommendation then call me because they are so good at what they do that it’s silly if you went else where!

Had bodywork, windshield replaced, paint work on my old car. They did a great job!
The car was restored beautifully.
I also needed a short notice engine repair and they did amazing quick work, got me back on the road in 2 hours.

This place is about as good as it gets when talking about people who not only love cars but then put that kind of love into your car, that’s a very hard thing to find across all types of business.
I have a 2006 BMW 530 XI wagon that started life as black, I really love this car and want to keep it for as long as it lasts, the paint was showing bad signs of dings rock chips scratches and UV damage plus some bad scrapes my lovely wife had done wile trying to reverse out of many different tight spots over the years.
I found AP by just driving by one day and decided to go in and have a wash done, they did such a good job with the wash it uncovered so many deep scratches scrapes and the like that it made me look at the car in a different light, it has about 120,000 miles on it so it’s getting to that point where most people think about trading it in for something newer and more up to date.
After talking with Mario (the boss) I had decided to re-​spray the car, also lets change the color too :)
This is a huge job, completely dismantling the car to do a full paint job and it did take a good few weeks but it was so worth it the car looks like new again.
All panels are smooth no more dents or scratches all the door jams perfectly painted, this was a very professional job indeed, I am so happy with the way it all came out.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is a true car lover because these guys will go above and beyond your expectations.
I have a couple of other vehicles that I take here to get waxed and washed regularly and all the guys that work here are super cool and really show how much they love to be around cars, such an awesome place!

If you are looking for body work, look no further!
I was visiting San Diego for 2 months & had a rental car.
48 hours prior to returning my rental, I found the car bumper had been damaged in the parking garage. PANIC! I went to Absolute Perfection & received the best service even imaginable. Not only did Mario quote me a very very reasonable price (I would have paid dearly thru the rental car agency)… and… Mario completed the work for the following day. Additionally, Absolute Perfection called another rental service & they picked me up within minutes! I returned the following day (Saturday) to realize not only did the car look absolutely PERFECT, but the owner came in on Saturday even tho they were supposed to be closed.
ASTOUNDING SERVICE!!! I have never received such fabulous service & cannot recommend them highly enough. The body work was indeed perfection… impossible to see where the damage had been. Thank You Mario!!!

They are one of the few places that care for your vehicle as their own and use high quality products with their services. They are meticulous with the details and accommodating with requests.
The best part of this place is that they have experts to help you from cleaning, repairs to any cosmetic changes that you’d like to make.
I had bought my Porsche Cayman for detailing and saw a defect on the emblem, even though I was picking up at closing the owner Mario spent a good half hour trying to get it to order.
Recommended to get an appointment cause they can get busy, but you’ll be greeted by their friendly staff.

If you are looking for a place that will pamper your ride the same way you would, then look no further!
Though I haven’t got a full detail here before, I was impressed at the way they do their washes. I brought my pearl white GX470 here as she had gotten a bit dirty. It isn’t a typical wash and took a good couple hours to finish. I went with their «Mini Detail» wash and when I arrived, my ride was sparkly clean and the inside squeaky clean as well. The carpets were smelled good and they cleaned off most of the stains.
I will have to come back and get a full detail soon.

These guys are REALLY serious about cars. I took both of my cars in for an exterior detail and walked out realizing I knew nothing about cars after having had a chance to speak to the owner, Mario.
When he told me that they import their wax from Germany since he doesn’t think the quality of wax here in the states was up to par, I realized he’s more knowledgeable and passionate about it than I’ll ever be (or anyone else I’ve ever met for that matter) and that’s a great thing because that’s the kind of person I’d want taking care of my cars :).
The detail I received and customer service was exceptional but it turns out they do way more than car washes. They are a full body shop and the work I saw being done was spectacular. On the one hand, I hope to never have to use their body shop services for repair but on the other hand it’s good to know I can come here for that if I do ever need it!

Walking into any car-​related establishment usually makes me a bit uneasy. I regrettably know very little about cars, and often fear that lack of knowledge leading to me getting taken advantage of or being talked down to.
If the 5-​star rating didn’t already give it away, I had nothing to fear with this place. They are absolutely wonderful!
The moment I walked in the door, I was greeted by Mario’s bright, authentic smile and a genuine, «How are you?» They did an incredible job cleaning my car; I still have no idea how it was only $ 34 for everything they did. They checked my fluids and topped off my windshield wiper fluid and my coolant for no extra charge, and let me know that my oil was low, and they would fill it for [I’m pretty sure] just the cost of the oil itself. I decided to just get my oil changed then, since I was due soon, and it was done quickly and for a very fair price.
An even better reflection was the older gentleman sitting in the waiting room with me, who has been coming to this place for four years for all of his car needs. He absolutely raved about the service and the people, and definitely validated every feeling I was having that these people are legit, they know what they are doing, do a good job, and that they are truly good people.
All in all, I recommend this place, hands down.
Oh! And the bathrooms were woooooonderfully clean!

Best vehicle detailing shop in San Diego, hands down. I’ve been through a couple other «High End» detailing shops before I found these guys, and they always end the same way; A group of 6 guys whipping wet towels and my car, streaks everywhere and a damp interior. Absolute Perfection really lived up to their name. They have attention to detail, great service, and very reasonable prices. I will literally never let anyone but them detail my car again. At this point I must sound like an employee or have some kind of affiliation with them, but I assure you I’m not. I’ve just never been this happy with the quality of service that I got with them.
Oh, and last time I brought my car in I had just got back from a pretty long road trip and they fixed my front and rear alignment for about $ 75. Which, in my opinion, for front and back is a pretty good price.

12÷24÷15 Update!
Today was a great day. I just picked up my vehicle from being repaired, after having had a minor accident.
During the time AP had my vehicle, Travis was in communication with me, letting me know how the process was going etc.
I’m very pleased to say, the repairs made were done exceptionally well. My car looks better than new.
I can’t stress enough how awesome Mario and his crew are.
There is no other business in San Diego who will ever work on my vehicle.
These guys also take care of the regular maintenance, in addition to exceptional body work and customization.
If your vehicle needs any kind of work, call Mario. You will not be disappointed.
Mario & Crew are TOP NOTCH.
They’ve tinted my windows, given my vehicle their «Executive detail» which was exceptional. They’ve made my 3 yr old vehicle look better than new, inside and out.
They’ve also refinished my factory rims with a killer matte black finish. It only took me a few days to hit a curb and scrape one of them. which Mario touched up, good as new– for NO charge.
I’m completely hooked.
