Melissa M.

Business Owner

Melissa earned a Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, CA and is certified and licensed by the CA Acupuncture Board. As part of her clinical education, Melissa had the opportunity to intern at Rady’s Children’s hospital in the oncology and pain departments, the Owen Clinic for HIV/​AIDS treatment at UC San Diego Medical Center, and worked at a busy downtown Senior’s Clinic.

Melissa was drawn to Chinese Medicine because of its effectiveness in treating the whole person with a non-​invasive approach. She finds great value in treating the root cause of illness, and not merely the symptoms. Such depth of treatment prevents recurrence of disease and discourages new illness from occurring. Treating the root energetic imbalance also allows many symptoms to be treated and resolved simultaneously. She has a unique ability to combine her knowledge of yoga and meditation with her experience in acupuncture and herbal medicine.
