Established in 2003.

Based in San Diego with clients nationally, addSpace develops organizational systems for homes, offices and corporations. addSpace also re-​wardrobes clients who want their image to match their full potential.

My name is Kathi Burns, CPO®. I am a Board Certified Professional Organizer, Image Consultant, Speaker and Author.

As the founder of adddSpace To Your Life! my goal is to help people realize their dreams by showing them how to remove the blocks that keep them from achieving their full potential.

It is not just about clearing clutter. It is also about heightening awareness of the things that are blocking your life. I provide inspiration and motivation to help you remove those obstacles.

My goal is always to help you clear away the things that are keeping you from peace, joy, free time and prosperity.

I found Kathi online while searching on a Sunday night. She texted me right back and was able to come the next day to rescue me! I had unpacked Christmas decorations and found creatures (mice) had been feasting on my decorations. She wasn’t shy about tackling this nasty situation and we worked quickly to get my garage in beautiful shape. I thought I was fairly organized but can’t wait to tackle other areas and go through the the boxes in my scary attic!

I was very happy to find Kathi on Unilocal.She has been so incredibly helpful in the past month organizing my 13 years of chaos including my divorce papers, two very active girls, and 3 parents being sick.

I am so thankful for Kathy! I called her after a few weeks of being in «I can totally do this myself» mode. I am a recent graduate and I admit I was a little bit of a hoarder when I was in school. So I did my best to clear out the clutter and extra paper and supplies, but came to a standstill.
Kathy came in, we talked about my goals and vision, what I wanted and what frustrated me about my space. She also looked around taking mental notes about how things flowed (and didn’t flow). Within 15 minutes we were moving things around! It was amazing!
First we worked on my storage closet. It’s small, and was packed with boxes and suitcases. She was able to rearrange it all so that I could also utilize that space as my grab — and — go station. I’m an acupuncturist that makes house calls and it’s important for everything to be in its place and easily accessible. I was so afraid we would have to throw stuff out, or give stuff away, but we didn’t. It just needed to be arranged properly and Kathy, the tetris queen, visualized the finished products within seconds of seeing the clutter.
Next, we worked on my bedroom and the living room. I didn’t have that much stuff but it looked like I did with the way my furniture was arranged. Kathy helped move the furniture around to create more space and even added a reading nook which I had been hoping for. She also helped me rearrange my craft supplies and going through each shelf and each box and arranging it according to how I use things.
A lot happened in the few hours that Kathy was at my house, and we still have two more meetings to go where she will help me with all the paper clutter that accumulates (mail, bills, business cards… etc). Her go getter attitude is perfect when you are in need of a change and her uplifting personality brings brightness to whatever she does. She is so approachable, understanding, and a great listener who genuinely wants to help people.

OMG Kathy is a life saver! I have a home office and it was a wreck until Kathi helped me. I lost track of so many papers and was completely unorganized until Kathi came in, cleaned house and created systems for me to keep organized.

I first worked with her years ago on a wardrobe consultation – I was stuck in «frumpy Mom» with a goal of «sophisticated executive.» By the middle of the 4-​hour shopping expedition, I had to beg for mercy and stop for a double shot of espresso. I have worked with Kathi Burns for over a year and cannot say enough about her professional organizing services. She got me started using Quick Books and taught me how to purge so much unnecessary paperwork that I had always saved indefinitely. She got my files organized using the Freedom Filer system to match my Quick Books categories. And now that Quick Books is being used, I have been able to simplify my filing system even more. I have a long way to go to be completely clutter free, but Kathi has been so helpful and has made my office a functional work space where everything has its proper place.

I can highly recommend Kathi for her organizing skiils. She started with my wifes closet and wardrobe. She combed through all the clothes, got her to donate many old items and shoes, and re-​organized the entire closet into a working system. Next she started on our personal files. She set up a 2 year rotating file system which I still use to this day. Getting tax info is now a breeze. Kathis organizing systems are worth the price, saving us time and money. Plus she is fun to work with!
