If you want a top quality concrete job done right, Agundez Concrete is the way to go. They did the foundations for our detached garage and our home several years ago and just recently the driveway and sidewalk in front of our parent’s new home. We are so happy with all the work they have done. Matt, the owner, is very personable and promptly met with me and provided me with a written quote within 72 hours of my initial call. He got the permits very quickly (which is a huge accomplishment if you know how San Diego City Planning Dept. works) and passed inspections with no problems at all. Matt has an excellent crew who was professional, punctual and worked very hard. They even stayed longer to complete the job faster than scheduled when a sudden rain storm was predicted to hit. You get your money’s worth and peace of mind when you hire Matt Agundez to do the job.

Called to set up an appt for estimate and regretted calling. The way I was spoken to was uncalled for and I will taking my business elsewhere. I’m sure they do great work given all the positive reviews left by others but I was not given that impression. I would highly suggest they work on the way they speak to potential customers.

Called for a quote and got a speech about a minimum dollar amount. How do I know what it will cost unless I get an estimate. Unbelievable.

Came out to look at my job several months ago. I wanted an estimate so I could plan my budget. He says if I’m not ready to pour concrete now, there will be no quote now; call back when ready. So I call back recently, he says he is coming out to do some measuring, but doesn’t show up. No phone call, no email, nothing. So I call back a week later; no answer so I leave a message. I say «Hey! Where’s my quote?» Nothing.
A WEEK LATER
So I wrote the above review. Next day Matt calls and says he was having family problems (which we all go through) and wants another chance to bid. He shows up at the scheduled time, does some measuring, and gets me a quote in my email that same evening. Now we’ve got some customer service! His price is substantially higher than a competing quote; I’m still waiting on a 3^rd quote before I make my decision.

Matthew gave us the best deal on our driveway. It is a rather large driveway but his team was in and out in 1 day! It looks great!!! We will definitely use and refer him for future concrete work. His team is AMAZING!

I had reached my wits end with a messy side yard. It had dirt that was getting EVERYWHERE. I made several phone calls in a single day to different contractors. Mr. Agundez was the only one to respond and see the area in the same day. I got calls from other contractors who were not willing to do such a ‘small job’. Matt was easy to talk to, honest, and easily got the job. I could not be happier with my choice. Three days after my initial call, his team was at my home. The job was completed in a single day. The work was quality all the way. He took care to keep things neat. He carefully raised my AC unit in order to pour around it. The crew was mindful of my home and kept things neat and clean. The price was fair, and I know that I have concrete work that will withstand time due to the attention paid in doing it. I would recommend this company anytime!

I’ve removed my previous rating on Matt based on the initial conversation I’ve had with him. Maybe he was having a bad day, but he hung up on me after a mis-​understanding of my comment. He called multiple times, close to 10 calls and left messages to apologize and ask me to remove the review, so I did. But, I felt that he needs to be responsible for his clients more and people needs to know who they’re dealing with. You can’t hang up on potential clients based on certain comments that was mis-​interpreted and been rude. That is very un-​professional and I can’t imagine if there was actual contract signed to do the work. It’s o. k not to accept jobs or contracts, but it’s something else to been just rude. I hope he will get better and improve. Good luck.

We hired Agundez Concrete to pour a back porch, a few steps, and a band running around the back yard. The owner, Matt, was always completely professional, and his crew is efficient and skilled. They managed to knock this job out in several days, and the results are fantastic. That this job was bid on, accepted and completed within a week is pretty impressive. During the site prep, If I had concerns about where a form was placed, or when I decided to change the plans a little bit, they accomodated me without any problems. The finish work on the concrete was extremely clean, and exactly what I was after when I was looking for a contractor.

This year, I decided to have Agundez Concrete do extensive work in my backyard and I was really happy that I did.
As a homeowner, I’ve had a few contractors do various jobs over the last couple of years and had mediocre results. Agundez Concrete surpassed all my expectations.

That’s the short version.
We met with several contractors looking to have what was a neglected pile of dirt behind a retaining wall (garden area) transformed into a usable patio space for our home in Mission Beach. Prior to contacting Agundez concrete, other contractors showed up (still typically late) whenever they felt they had free time and provided estimates by basically eyeballing the space. When we had requested detailed plans of the project for our HOA other contractors balked or provided inadequate project details.
When we contacted Matt, he showed up to our home on time, acted professionally, and really took the time to detail out our patio project. He provided great insights about how to get the most out of the patio project and make it look amazing.
It’s worth noting that our patio project provided several of its own logistical difficulties. However, Matt was always prepared to meet each obstacle and make sure everything happened quickly, on schedule, cleanly, and at all times professionally. They did a great job dealing with our HOA requirements, a general lack of parking in our neighborhood, coordinating with a sprinkler repair specialist, and anything that popped up as the project progressed.
The Agundez concrete crew also deserve mention. Gerard and his guys always showed up each morning on time and worked their butts off! Nothing was ever left a mess, the project area was always kept neat and tidy, despite being a pit of dirt to start with. Everyone was always friendly, professional, and like I said they worked their butts off each day and did a fantastic job.
Fast forward a couple weeks after our project completion and we are incredibly happy with the level of quality and attention to detail that Agundez Concrete put into our project. We have had neighbors and passers by stop just to tell us how great it looks. The stamping of the concrete gives the project a lot of awesome character and really elevates the appearance.
Agundex Concrete did an amazing job with our patio project. They created a patio space for us that not only provides a large usable outdoor space, but adds to the aesthetics of our home. One of the best parts is that, because everything is so well tied in with the rest of the house, the patio looks as if it were part of the original plans for the house. I can’t say enough good things about Agundez Concrete. If you have a concrete project in San Diego, you owe it to yourself to give Matt a call. You won’t a find a better concrete contractor.

After finally coming around to working on the outside of my house, driveway was first. I received 4 estimates for removing my existing driveway, expanding it, and pouring new.
I met with Matt, the owner personally for his estimate. Matt was friendly, personable, and had lots of great ideas for my project. His estimate was right in the middle of the four, and very reasonable.
I’m glad I went with agundez concrete for this job, I couldn’t be happier. Matt and his guys finished my almost 700 square foot driveway (on a slope), in 2 days of hard work. The work is incredible, in fact, I’ve already had several people stop by the house asking about who completed the job. I’ve recommended Matt and agundez concrete to all of them. When Matt stopped by the next day to pick up his equipment, I even asked for more business cards to hand out.

We called them Friday, we got our estimate Saturday, we signed the contract Monday, they started working on Tuesday and by Wednesday they were done. The work was flawless, the crew worked hard, and they even finished ahead of time!
