I wish I would have read the reviews before wasting my time with this lady. I am also among many others who attempted to set up an appointment with Alli for eyelash extensions multiple times, and had last-​minute cancellations. First time I had my appointment, it was cancelled a day before the actual date, but the second time I had not even been advised that my appointment was cancelled. I drove all the way to her office, wasted my time to wait for her in the lobby, and when she finally showed up, she told me my appointment had been cancelled long time ago, and that Groupon was responsible for letting me know about that. My last message from her was received 20 days ago confirming this appointment. But she didn’t find herself being responsible for the cancellation, she said she has not even had me in her calendar because she canceled all of the Groupons.
The most unprofessional, dishonest service I have ever encountered. Be careful when dealing with Alli O’Brien, or rather stay away from her.

I wish I had looked on Unilocal before getting lash extensions from Allie. Hopefully if I share this information, I can prevent what happened to me from happening to you.
I got a package of 6 beauty services from
for my wedding prep. I chose Tranquility Day Spa for the lash extensions, as well as a facial, which the coupon claimed were $ 150 each, with a $ 40 mandatory tip. (She actually charges $ 40. So I’m calling her a liar right now.)
Like many people have shared, Allie was flaky about my first appointment, which she cancelled the week before my wedding, claiming she was ill. I believed her, and wanted to avoid germs before my wedding, but I was disappointed. When I made another appointment she said she was feeling better and cancelled again. But I had this prepaid coupon so I made a third appointment months later.
The building is the shady apartment building and on the front plaque room 115 is listed as an arts&crafts center. I searched for the «Spa» for awhile. Finally found it, in room 115. The front was reasonably clean but undecorated, with framed kitchy pictures on the floor.
She was polite. The room was reasonably clean. She did my facial and did not use steam, just chemicals, but was communicative and polite. She spent most of the time talking shit about the people who rent space from her. She asked to do my lashes while the acid peel was working on my face, which I asked if it is ok with time and she said yes.
With the lashes, she laid them out on the sheet right next to my head which is not sanitary because I’d been laying and sweating on it. Then she used 2 sets of tweezers to glue the lashes to my own lashes. She seemed clumsy and unpracticed at it, and it was terrifying and painful. I had never had a beauty treatment that felt that clumsy and clueless before. My top lashes kept getting glued to my bottom lashes, and to each other. She pulled on my lashes and even pinched my lid skin once. When I winced she asked if it hurt and I said yes and she said it shouldn’t hurt. THEN MAYBE DON“T DO THAT!!! My eyelashes were glued together in multiple places, so that my eyes were basically glued shut when she was finished. Then she used a sharp metal thing to CUT BETWEEN my top and bottom lashes, I actually felt it slip between my lids towards my eye and I freaked out. I left with some lash glue still stuck to some of my bottom lashes and worked it out myself because I needed to get the fuck out of there. I tipped her and she didn’t give me change but I just ran out.
The first week the lashes were irritating me constantly, they were poking and pulling my skin in places. The second week some of my natural lashes shed, but because the fake lashes were glued to multiple real lashes, they didn’t shed, but held on sideways or upside down, poking me in the eye. I trimmed a few off with little sewing scissors, which sounds crazy but I couldn’t sleep, drive, or work with them poking me in the eye.
Then this morning, one month later, I wake up with my left eye swollen shut and full of pus. I cleaned it with special (expensive) eyelid cleaner from the pharmacy, kept compresses on it, and had to go to the doctor, who told me to get the lashes removed because the glue is blocking my glands. The glue should never touch my skin! I called Allie because I felt she should feel obligated to remove them for free. She immediately sent me this text: «This is going out to all of Allis clients… This is her mother… Early this morning her appendix broke. She is in surgery and I am notifying all her client she will not be making her appointments today. She will be in touch when she is better.» The poor girl really is so unwell that she missed my first 2 appointments, and most of the other Unilocal reviewers appointments, due to chronic illness, car accidents, and now a surgery. Since she is unable to keep appointments consistently, she is in the perfect line of work, doing completely unimportant beauty tasks, wasting rich peoples’ time. flaky, irresponsible, untrained, incompetent, liar.
So I went to a more competent esthetician. She said that she couldn’t believe that anyone would do this to me, that it was like someone who had never had any training just left glue all over my lash line on the skin, and she glued so many lashes together now I have bald patches. She carefully and gently removed the lashes for $ 30, which was not uncomfortable at all, as it should be.
Allie is obviously conning people with her coupons, requiring the mandatory tip to be exactly what you would pay for the service anyway, so there’s no point buying the coupon. Her lack of skills are dangerous. I suspect she fakes illness to get out of responsibilities. I also suspect that the 5 ratings on this are made by her or at least paid for by her. Please save yourself the trouble and don’t go to Allie at this business or her other «fronts» — Allie O and Hidden Isl

UPDATE — Just received text response she in the hospital dealing with something quite tragic. This may be true. Still the previous experiences listed above are accurate and truthful.

I visited Alli’s new studio last week and loved the new spot. The cool colors are very comforting and inviting. This is the second time she has done my eyelash extensions, and once again I was impressed. She is always polite and has been very accommodating to my busy schedule. I have had my extensions done at many other places, and Alli service and product overall has been way better. She is quick, but her eyelashes last much longer than the others I have had.
She told me of a great monthly service she’ll have soon.
Eyelashes, facial and facial waxing for $ 55.00! Can’t beat that!

Ali is great! She has been doing my eyelashes for almost a year. I still get comments all the time at what great eyelashes I have. The most exciting part is that I have not had to wear mascara in a year. No more darkness under the eyes by the end of the night and no more poufy looking eyes in the morning, somehow they make you look great when you wake up!
Ali is always friendly and is super flexible with my schedule. She has come in on her day off because I needed them before a trip! She has come to my home to do lashes for when I all of my girlfriends over.
Her new location is great. I can’t say enough about this professional young woman!

Alli is amazinginlgy… unresponsive, unprofessional, flaky and has an excuse for everything. I was hoping I wouldn’t be another Alli O. disappointed customer whom she blew off again. boy do I regret not checking out her reviews prior to purchasing the kgb deal for lash extensions.
Left her several phone and text messages, no response. Same thing for next two days. She’s a total waste of time and money. Even her co-​workers indicate Alli O. is notorious for blowing off customers.
Don’t waste your time and money. This business is a joke.
Warning: The positive 4 – 5 star ratings Alli O. received are definitely **suspect**. Wish there was a way for Unilocal to discern and prevent businesses and their friends and associates from posting fake positive reviews, but this is impossible. at least for now.

Wow!!! Really…
This girl rescheduled my appointment 3 times and when I finally had an appointment I showed up to the place and the location was closed!!! I texted her and called her and no answer!
The first time she cancelled she said that she had food poisoning and was sick
The 2^nd time she cancelled she said there was work accross her office and had to reschedule some customers.
The third time I showed up to the appointmnet and she was not there and non responsive.
Wow, thank you for waisting my time and my weekend!!!
Reading the other comments from Unilocalers I should of been warned. I should of read these prior to purchasing her services from KGB Deals… Now I have to file a claim!

I visited Allie O at Hidden Island, which is a super cute little salon right across from Effins… you can’t miss it!
The environment is very clean and welcoming, and everyone is super friendly. I got a facial and an eyelash extension with Alli. I had no trouble making an appointment for Saturday afternoon (she’s there Weds — Sat), and everything went great! I will absolutely be going back soon, my skin feels super smooth and clean, and my eyelashes came out looking great.

I wish I would have read the reviews before wasting my time with this nonsense. I also attempted to set up an appointment with Alli O for eyelash extensions back in May. The only reason I’m writing this review now is because I’m traveling back to the San Diego area over the 4^th and was looking for places to go, and came across this place again. Something sounded vaguely familiar so I read the reviews. As soon as I read Dave E.‘s review, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I even went back to my phone to double check the phone number on the text. Yep, same number.
This girl must be an awful driver, because my appointment was also canceled via text as I was driving to her «salon» because she had been in a car accident. Perhaps she just copied and pasted the message she sent Dave E. She said in the text she’d call to reschedule — never got that call.
However, based on the reviews from the ones who actually made it in for their extensions, it doesn’t look like I missed out on much. She may offer a good deal, but actually getting to use it may be another story.

Due to the courteous call backs and «keep in touch» type of service offered by Alli I was thrilled to have spent the better half of a beautiful Saturday sitting at home waiting for an appointment that never arrived.
.We called her contact number several times through out the day and her VM was full.
.We sent text messages, no reply!
.We sent emails and nothing!
It is my belief this company dose not exist except for on line. I would caution anyone who is thinking of purchasing a group-​on or any on-​line deal with this company to reconsider. Serves will never be rendered.
I wonder if Alli is her real name.

Ali O Companies —
I called Ali on Wednesday after I got her info from Groupon. She at 1^st was politie and offered to set up an appopintment for my wife in our home. She sounded professional and courteous.
I was so exicited to have these lashes done for my wife as she always wanted to have them done. I built up anticipation for my wife and kept building and builing only to have it all coming crashing down.
The appointment was set to come over on Friday. Needless to say that was canceled by an apparent car accident. I felt concened for her and her safety. We re-​scheduled for Saturday 12:30 pm.
Well I made an excuse for my wife and built up the anticipation for her once again (She had no clue that she was getting the eyelashes done)
Well needless to say Saturday came and no call from Ali, no response to text messages. I have tried several times to reach her and eventually her voicemail box got full. The funy part is that I tried to call later that evening and the mail box was empty (She was checking her voicemail)
My wife’s heart sank faster than the Titanic and I felt extremely small and disappointed. This caused the whole night to be ruined.
Thanks Ali…
PS: I am so glad I did not buy the Groupon deal, or pay any deposit to this company.
Word of caution to all… do not get your hopes up !!!
She could have at least called, or returned text messaes or something…

I visited Alli for a facial and loved the results. Not only did my skin feel fresh and look great, but the entire 45-​minute experience was relaxing! Loved the soft music, warm blankets and dim lighting. I practically fell asleep… in a good way!
