Ana Simerlein, DDS

Dr. Simerlein has been my dentist since 1998. I have been happy with her all this time.
She is a wonderful dentist. The service I get from the moment I walk in her office is great.
The office Manager Kathi and assistant Patrice are friendly and knowledge. I highly recommended.

I started going to Dr. Simerlein when my dentist moved & the new dentist informed me that I had a bunch of stuff wrong with my teeth. I thought that was odd because my former dentist never said that. I wanted a second opinion. Dr. Simerlein was very honest. She informed me that my teeth were in perfect shape & I didn’t need anything! I have been going to her ever since. Patrice, he assistant is so gentle that she puts me to sleep. Dr. S makes going to the dentist fun! She is honest, gives advice & does a thorough job. Her front desk gal, Cathy, is awesome. She informs me of what my insurance will pay, reminds me of my appointments & is always fun to talk to! Great experience! Plus, I just got my teeth whitened there with their zoom system & now I look fabulous! I highly recommend Dr. Simerlein & her wonderful staff!

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Simerlein for over a decade and even though I’ve moved from PB I still make the trip. Its rare to find a really good dentist and even more rare to find an office run as well as hers. The friendly professionalism of Kathy in the office is second to none.

I will never change dentists for the rest of my life. EVERYONE here is fantastic. I just showed Kathy a bunch of pics of the dog I’m dog sitting, Patrice asked how my niece is doing, etc. They are really nice and remember you and your life events. Way beyond my expectations. Dr. Simerlein is also really nice and SUPER quick. I used to plan to be at the dentist for longer, but she’s so efficient. You’re in and out. I never have time to read my book in the waiting room, which is great! Fast, friendly, professional. Highly recommend these gals!

I have had numerous dentists in my life, and Dr. Simerlein is the best. She is very gentle and does a great job. Quick and easy. Kathy at the front desk is very sweet and always greets you with a smile. I recommend to all!

I’ve been going to Dr. Simerline for years. And have referred many friends and family. Kathi always provides a reminder phone call the day prior to my appointment and a big smile the day I arrive. I’ve been to some dentists that were rough when they worked, but Dr. S is precise and never causes pain. I also appreciate that she asks what my expectations and wants are (cosmetic procedures, pricing between crowns, etc.) I am sure to make my appointments as now I’m not hesitant to goto the dentist anymore :-)

I Unilocaled local dentists and happened to find Dr. Simerlein. It had been 5 years since I had seen a dentist and i was clearly avoiding it all together. I called and spoke with Cathy (the receptionist) who was so extremely sweet and helpful. We laughed on the phone for a bit and she helped me figure out all my insurance information. I booked and appointment and was happy to see that she was just as friendly in person. Dr. Simerlein, as well as her assistant were extremely kind. They really did make my experience great (besides the fact that I have 5 cavities) I HIGHLY recommend anyone see her and pass the word around. The whole staff is AWESOME.

This place is the best. Where to even begin.
Let’s start with kathi, the most genuinely friendly receptionist you will ever meet. Even if the rest of the staff was eh, I would still go here just cuz of her.
Then there’s crystal, the super nice assistant who was very friendly and helpful. And lastly the doctor herself, Dr. Simerlein. She sure knows her shiz, figured out my problems (ones I didn’t even know I had!) and made me proud of my teeth because of her many compliments ;)

Dr. Simerlein and her staff are wonderful. You can tell that everyone in this office genuinely care about Dr. Simerlein’s patients and giving great customer service. As anxiety inducing as a trip to the dentist can be, I always look forward to visiting with Dr. Simerlein and her staff. The toothbrushes she gives with each cleaning are amazing too — super soft but keep my teeth feeling über-​clean.

When I first moved to San Diego, in 2001, I needed to find a dentist, doctor, etc. Out of the huge list of dentists I was given, I picked Dr. Simerlein randomly, and couldn’t be happier. Kathy (the receptionist) has always been so incredibly sweet, and Dr. Simerlein has always done a fabulous job with my teeth. Even when I needed a referral to have my wisdom teeth removed, the doctor I was referred to was amazing.
In 2009, my husband and I had to move to NorCal, but I will literally drive the 9 hours twice a year to get my checkups with Dr. Simerlein (no joke!). It’s hard to find a good dentist, so when you find one you just have to stick with them. We’re about to move to Washington State, and I’m sad to say I’ll probably (yes, probably) have to stop seeing Dr. Simerlein. If I can, I’ll try to schedule our visits home to coincide with my cleanings… Hopefully it works out.

OK, I confess… I am a lifelong dental phobic. Though a retired Marine, going to a dentist is the most terrifying thing in my life. If I like a dentist, it is truly amazing.
I have been going to Dr. Simerlein for several years, and she is the exception to my prior dental experience. Though white knuckled and with a death grip on the arms when I first sin in the chair, I quickly relax under her gentle touch and empathy.
She is very thorough and focused on prevention, NOT up selling. On my last visit, she discovered a pre-​cancerous lesion under my tongue, and referred me to a surgeon so I was able to have it removed before it became cancer.
Dr. Simerlein and her staff are professional and friendly, and I highly recommend this dental practice.

Dr. Simerlein has been my dentist for over a decade. She is very sensative to her patients needs and wants; she has an impecable staff; she also has an extensive referal list of DDS’s to provide services that she does not.
Her speed and delicate touch are what make the «trip to the dentist» a pleasure; she truly is the standard to which to measure from.

Dr. Simerlien is an outstanding dentist! Her and her staff are some of the greatest people you will meet. They make you feel very comfortable. I’ve been to many dentist over the years and Dr. Simerlein is the best by far. She really cares about her clients. I highly recommend her if your looking for a new dentist.

I have been a patient of Ana’s for close to 10 years and have consistently recommended Dr. SImerlein’s office to friends.
I get cleanings regularly and come here for all of my dental needs. I’ve had fillings and sealants done without any issues. The dental assistants are always friendly and I no longer dread my trips to the dentist.
On the administrative side, Kathi is always so helpful and has seamlessly coordinated my coverage to ensure that my billing processes are smooth and accurate. As someone on a limited budget, this is always much appreciated.

Dr Ana Simerlein is the best dentist I’ve ever been to. Besides her expertise and knowledge, she is very personable and a dynamic individual. She staffs herself with great people, and her receptionist, Cathy, is especially knowledgeable, friendly and super sweet.

I have to say that Dr. Simerlein and her staff are the best out there! I have been seeing her since 1995? Cathy her front desk receptionist I LOVE and her hygeniest is great as well. They are always very accommodating, always easy to talk to, and will always refer you to the best oral surgeons and ortho’s in town. I have to thank Dr. Simerlein and Cathy (oh, and Dr. Parker) for my beautiful smile, which will be completed in the next 12 months… (: they are fantastic.

Dr. Simerlein and her staff are great. They are pro-​active, which is wonderful because I’ve met too many dentists who aren’t. She is very careful to avoid any unnecessary pain or discomfort.
I went to a specialist who removed my wisdom teeth and he only had very positive things to say as well.
Cathy, the office manager, is so friendly and is seriously on the ball with scheduling, insurance and everything you need.

This dentist talked me into getting an unnecessary and painful crown that now has caused a cavity to form as a result of the crown being placed too close to another tooth. On my first visit, she constructed a schedule for me in which she would replace every filling in my mouth (several) with these crowns because she said it had to be done. Then she wanted to file down my canines and do whitening procedures to improve the appearance of my teeth. The cost of all of this unrequested work was going to be in the thousands.
I’ve since seen another dentist who informed me that my teeth looked great, there was no need for any further crowns (nor probably even the one the Simerlein had installed) and that the crown I had been given by Simerlein had caused me to need to get a filling.
Simerlein concocted a money-​making dental scheme to take advantage of a patient who would not know any better and then screwed up the very first step. On top of it all, after having gone to her for cleanings, xrays and the several steps of the crown, they charged me $ 50 when I had to cancel an appointment, which I had done courteously as soon as I was able, long before the actual appointment.
Stay away from her office. It will cost you in more ways than one.
