After a long drive, all we wanted was to check into our room and have dinner, so we were excited to see that our hotel had a restaurant. We started with the carne asada fries, which were okay if not slightly bland. My husband ordered shrimp enchiladas and was told that one of the salsas was out but they had the mango one. When they brought it to him, the waitress informed us that the mango was out too, so he got the«house» salsa. If we had been eating late at night or at a busy time, I’d understand that things run out, but this was a Saturday around 6pm and we were the only people at the restaurant. I ordered the mahi mahi fish tacos, which were a bit strange. Full of a runny mayo sauce and chunks of cheese along with the lettuce/cabbage. The rice was very plain as well and the black beans were room temp and without any sort of seasoning. It’s as if they simply opened a can of beans and poured them onto our plates. Nothing wrong with that at home, but not at a restaurant. My kid’s dinner was a cheeseburger and fries which was fine. We are leaving in the morning so this experience changed our minds about having breakfast before we head out. And to cap it off, all of that(plus two iced teas) cost $ 66. Sigh.

Place has gone downhill in terms of quality and service. They’re always out of items(3 salsas on menu, typically only have one) were running out of a type of beer when we were here two weeks ago, this week they’re out. Out of wine choices. Out of salmon. Friend ordered cottage cheese, it was ‘off’. Slow service.

We ordered food in the room last night from this place during our stay in DoubleTree Hilton. It wasn’t okay at its best. The pizza was overloaded with cheese and I don’t remember asking for it. To their credit the food arrived sooner than promised. Will avoid ordering food from the restaurant of the hotel I am staying in. Use it only if no other options.

Not a big fan of hotel food but this one rates high amount them. Breakfast is great. The service is better than they. Morning manager Alberto kicks but. Takes care of us all the time. Hotel manager Robert(also a great guy) keep him running the show at the restaurant. He’s good!

Most Doubletree restaurants have reasonably good food. This one not so much. They got the order wrong. The food was substandard at best. With so many options in San Diego this place should not even be open.

I got to eat here for free two days in a row because of my Hilton honors number. I do like they have a hot buffet here. I also saw that you could get stuff to go instead of eating here with your family which really really surprise me. I saw dad come in and ask for for orange juices and four things of cereal to go and I even saw other people asking for the beverage in a to go container. I love that on Saturday and Sunday they mix that up slightly. One day the bacon and pepper on it another day you didn’t. On Sunday they had a waffle iron. But for the most part everything else was the same they had the omelette station sausages, scrambled eggs, cereal, pastries, yogurt, a couple different times I saw that they had different free depending on the day.

I was at the hotel for a seminar and ate at this place, mostly for the convenience. I ordered a bowl or tortilla soup for $ 7. It didn’t have much taste to it. My glass of water had a bug floating around in it. The waiter didn’t speak enough English to explain this. I handed him the glass and told him the problem, he just poured some more water into the glass. Don’t bother with this restaurant. There’s a Kabob restaurant around the corner. You’re better off going there or just brown bag it instead. In fact, you’d be better off going hungry and eating later. I guess you could always order a pizza or some other delivery food.

Pretty good breakfast for a hotel buffet. The comment about the eggs above is spot on, but why scoop out scrambled eggs from a trough when they have a guy right there who will make fresh eggs however you want. Selection of pastries, cereals, breads, yogurt and fruit is pretty much the standard fare for hotels, the quality of all is above average. The hot portion of the buffet has omelettes made to order, waffles made to order, pancakes usually, sausages, bacon, hash browns and oatmeal. Only thing I don’t understand is why water isn’t in a big pitcher to get your own.

Breakfast buffet was nice, its open till 11am. They also make custom omelettes at the counter. I also ordered pizza for dinner one night and it was surprisingly very good. Service is not the best but it was ok since it was a short stay.

We had brunch here this morning. The omletes were delicious as well as the waffles. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the price was great for all you can eat.

I enjoying trying new places and was excited when this place popped up on Groupon. I was little nervous because hotel restaurants can be either really good or really bad. I guess I lucked out because this one was somewhere in the middle. My husband and I were seated in the corner right up next to the wall. There were two or three other tables of guests and it was nice and quiet. Our Groupon was for one appetizer, two glasses of wine, and two entrees. My husband is very into beer so he got a beer instead from their mediocre draft menu. The house wine was typical«house» wine: probably from a $ 4.99 bottle and just tolerable enough to finish the glass. We started with the french fries, which were okay, and then we ordered the chicken and fish. They brought out something questionable at first, but then brought us what we actually order. The entrees were okay, but nothing special. I’m pretty sure the waiter completely forgot about us, but we eventually tracked down someone to pay. Probably wouldn’t go back and would never pay full price, but it was okay enough to give it a shot if you’re staying at the hotel.

5÷22÷14 On our first night in San Diego we decided to just chill out in the hotel for the evening. Since we had a late lunch we decided just go down to the hotel bar and restaurant and check out their HH specials before they ended for the evening. We were greeted by this very nice and pleasant waitress. She brought us menus and then took our drink order and gave us some time to look over the menu as she made our drinks(she was the bartender too…). I got the berry margarita and my boyfriend got a regular margarita. I must say it was not my favorite but it was ok. We ordered the honey BBQ wings and the shrimp cocktail. I requested that the BBQ wings be cooked hard and they did an awesome job on these. The shrimp cocktail was really good and the shrimp were pretty huge. The second set of margaritas my boyfriend instructed her to how he would like it made and with what tequila and this one was so much better. This place has a nice chill vibe and décor. Definitely worth a stop through if you are staying in the hotel. But there are so many other things and places to go outside the hotel. If you are staying in definitely check it out.
