Awesome place, and great play to play all sorts of board and card games.
The staff seems really friendly and they greet me most of the time when I walk through the door. There has been occasion where there is an employee that seems kind of angry to be there, but overall customer service has been great. They even directed an item to me that was on sale even though I had only seen the normal price item!
They have a ton of board games and miniatures. With plenty of tables to play on to accommodate a variety of games. With long tables with long mats for card gamers, round tables for RPGers and big tables with terrain for the miniatures players. They even have a case with some open board games for you to try.
They have a good amount of Magic singles selection in stock, and at decent prices. They occasionally have a magic employee that can help you out, but in some cases there is no one at that counter, and you have to run up to the front counter to get any help.

They have a pretty good selection of all the popular board games. King of Tokyo, Pandemic, Love Letters, Small World, Machi Koro, etc. They also have a lot of the expansion sets for these games too and the list literally goes on and on.
This place has a bunch of tables and chairs for people to just sit down and play card games like Magic the Gathering or other board games that they have for you to try. They also have figurines for other games that you can buy as well. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and was a great help to us when we were trying to find a game that was good for just the two of us. If you find yourself spending the entire day there playing games and getting hungry, they also have a delivery food option from the place next door. I’ve never stayed long enough, but it’s nice to know there’s the convenience.
I love going here on Sunday afternoons to just chill and try out new board games. We have actually bought games that we’ve played and liked. I’m definitely a fan of board games and trying them out before buying them so this is my haven.

So much stuff to see, I think it must be the most spacious games shop in San Diego. The people who work there are quite friendly and like to help you find things that you are looking for. Lots of board games and game tables. No posting board that I saw, and they use Fivestar, so if you spend an insane amount of le monies here, you can expect a little somethin somethin FOR FREE. Lots of dice– slightly more expensive than another shop I go to, but more options to choose from here.

This place is huge! I was overwhelmed when I walked in. Just when I thought I had seen everything down an aisle, I’ll end up seeing something new when I walk back through. There is something for everyone here, whether it’s board games, card games, family games, figurines, etc. I felt bad because I spent so long browsing, but the employee working there didn’t rush me. In fact, he was very helpful and helped me narrow down a few things or pointed me in the right direction, telling me to take my time. Thank you!
There is also a large area for people to «rent» games for free, and they also host tournaments. I don’t do tournaments, but I do appreciate being able to try out a game to decide if I’d like to buy it. When I went, there wasn’t a tournament happening, but still a good amount of chatter from people who were very into their games. Love it!
Pricing-​wise, it’s a bit higher than Amazon, but not by that much more. For example, I purchased Batman Love Letter for about $ 12 when it’s $ 9 on Amazon — not bad. I’ll pay extra to support a local shop, and plus, I get it right then and there. They also have a rewards program through FiveStars. You automatically get a star just by visiting, and it’s another star for every $ 20 spent. The first tier is 10 stars = $ 2 off.
I’ve visited two other gaming stores that are more conveniently located to me, and this place is still the best in terms of staff friendliness and amount of games. I will happily give them my money!

I just started playing the Munchkin game, and have been looking for expansions and booster packs to make the game more fun. The regular stores only have one version if anything at all, so i decided to stop by here on my way home from work; i work just right down the street. So, I walked in the door. The first thing i noticed was the variety of games they sell. They have basically every game, and every expansion or booster you can imagine. I loved that they had plenty of tables for everyone to bring a game and play with friends. They were very well stocked up on Munchkin games and accessories, it was hard to make up my mind.
The only reason why this place is not 5 stars for me is because nobody acknowledged me when I entered the store. There were 3 people standing at the front counter right next to the door; i didn’t even get a ‘Hi’ or ‘Welcome’. Also, I was in the store for 40 minutes before someone asked me if i needed help with anything. Another thing, I was interested in learning more about Magic: The Gathering, i have never played before so i went to the counter and tried asking an employee for advice on how to play, or how to get started. He showed me what i should buy, and said to just come on a tournament night to learn more. I felt like he was just trying to push a sale so he could go back to chatting with the girl behind the counter.
Overall, would i come back? Yes, only because they have stock that other stores do not. Would i come back to play a game? Probably not, i am a nerd just like these other guys, but i did not feel welcome. It was like the only people welcome were those who had massive collections of game cards and equipment. I would not say that this is a newbie friendly establishment.

I love this place! The employees are extremely nice and are very willing to help you find anything you need. There is a large selection of games, cards, figurines and many other things for sale here. The place is large especially in the back where all the tournaments and game playing takes place.
Great place to find gifts for friends who enjoy a good board game or just to sit down for a few hours and try out some of their demo games they have for free play. A great way to test out and see what type of board games you enjoy to play. The best part, all you need is an ID for them to keep while you play for FREE!!! I actually don’t join tournaments so I can’t say how this place differs from other places in that matter, but I have friends who do, and I only hear good things about At Ease Games.

Lots of space to play. Love the ‘execute’ tables at the back. :) Decent selection of board games and Warmachine/​Hordes. They will order for you.

This place is truly fantastic!
I’m in San Diego on business for 3 months and decided I wanted to get back into Magic the Gathering after almost 15 years. I had gone to San Diego Comics, but had received poor customer service there so I thought I would try At Ease Games.
Upon walking in I was immediately greeted. I told the clerk I was thinking about getting into magic and he told me I should go talk to the young lady behind the magic counter. I went back there and she was on her phone, but put it down when I arrived. She asked me what she could help me with. I told her that I was trying to build a new deck and get back into Magic the Gathering after 15 years. She asked me what cards I wanted and I told her I had a list. She patiently took my list and found all the cards on it.
She advised me that they had tournaments that could help me get back into the game. Since then I have gone to two of their MTG tournaments. The shop has a lot of room for playing games of all types. They players thus far have been friendly as has the staff. Their prices are good and the staff is very helpful. I’ve purchased quite a bit from them since then. Dante in particular is very good at making recommendations.
If you need a good game shop go here. I’m impressed and will be spending a lot of time (and money) here in the weeks and months to come.
Also you can order pizza from next door which never hurts a gaming store =D

Stopped in to check the place out and pick up some MTG singles and had a great experience. The young man who helped me was named Xander and he was very friendly. As a long time magic player I am very picky when visiting stores. This one left me quite satsified with my experience. They had a good size selection with many cards that peaked my interest. The play area was quite large and the room was well air conditioned. Best of all their prices were extremly competetive. I ejoyed my experience and will visit again.

The atmosphere is great, the employees are great and most of the people are fun times. Some of the card markups are a little pricey, but otherwise the merch is all reasonable. And comfy chairs! Now if they only had a bar section…

Been to this place a few times for magic events, and to pick up singles. I went in the other day to pick up some cards and was given attitude by a female employee, when I didn’t want to pay near mint price for a damaged rare.
Overall, good place for events, but terrible customer service.

Okay I’ve been coming to At Ease Games now for six months. It is hands down my favorite gaming store in San Diego.
They have a huge selection of games. Games-​Workshop, Privateer Press, Wizkids, Avalon Hill, Catalyst Game Labs, Wizards of the Coast, Paizo and many more game brands can be found here.
Tons of gaming space. Rows of table to CCGs. Big round tables for RPG’s. And a bunch of tables for table top miniature games. Terrain and mats are free to use.
Great staff. Friendly and very knowledgeable. I make special orders through them all the time and they know exactly what I need.

Huuuuge amount of gaming space be it for card games, table top, or painting. Love the atmosphere.
Amazing selection of gaming and fan stuff up front. Good MtG singles cases in the back with prices slightly above TCGplayer.

There I was on Unilocal,just looking for some help, drowning in game-​store reviews like a poor-​mans’ Michael Phelps.
Pouring over Arial-​based text, just spamming «Next, Next,» when I came upon a page that said it was the bext. Best? I request a recess because I’m so stressed that I’m making up depressed rhymes, but I digress, just this one time.
At Ease Games? I hope they can light my flames, because all these game-​stores are just looking the same, quite lame.

I see the storefront standing there looking quite fly, I know I can’t block it, because it’s a form of evasion for creatures. I would most likely need a plummet or a creature with Reach. This isn’t apart of the rap. It’s just getting kind of old explaining this all the time.
Open the store doors, the store floor looking as wide-​open as the shorts of the girls of the Jersey Shore.
Shelves lined with game-​boxes, the improvement from other stores is like going to Chrome from Firefoxes.
Warhammer, DnD, Magic, they got ‘yo back, from Space Marine Legions, to Devotion Mono-​Black.
Picking up singles, left and right, all you fellas know how I spend my Friday Night.
At Ease Games? I know they can light my flames, because all these game-​stores are just looking the same, quite lame.
Best for ‘yall to knows this, but your nose knows will know this, that the store smells and feels so fresh and so clean clean, so you ain’t gonna die of B-​O like a post-​Season 1 Sean Bean.
But you know a playa knows a fair price, and you ain’t gotta plan a heist to afford your nerdy vice.
I’m saying it’s very affordable. Nothing really rhymes with affordable. Kittens are adorable.
And the people are nice, like rolling natural 20’s on a 20-​sided charm-​dice. Employees, customers, they’re all the same, putting you At Ease at At Ease Games.

Great store that’s halfway between my home and my other gamer friends. Nice selection of board, miniature, and card games. Huge open gaming area with comfortable chairs and big tables. FiveStars loyalty program gives discounts for store check ins — great for frequent visitors.

This is an awesome game store. Everyone who works here is super nice. A lot of them play magic so they’re fun to talk to. They’re very generous with prizes cause they want people to come back. There’s usually a bunch of door prizes for the MTG prerelease events. And sometimes for normal events too, like if 90ppl come for Friday Night Magic on 7/​18, they’ll give everyone 6 free boosters. :o
I also play Android Netrunner and there’s a cool group that meets here every Thursday night to play. And we have leagues or tournaments every once in a while with cool Netrunner prizes.
The actual store is pretty nice. There are a bunch of tables lined with playmats. They have some nice marble circular tables good for normal board games. Here are some big tables that I see people play Warhammer on. The other tables are a nice size for any 2-​player card games.
The prices of the board games they sell are not as cheap as Amazon but all the other accessories are similarly priced. So I’d buy sleeves, boosters, and stuff like that here to support the store.

I frequent a number of different gaming shops in the San Diego area and At Ease Games is the best of the bunch. They have a huge play area that’s clean and comfortable. They have a wide selection of paints, miniatures, games and sleeves. If something is not in stock they will happily order it for you.
The thing that sets this shop apart is the customer service. Unlike other stores there’s always someone at the counter watching the shop and available if you need a hand. They go out of their way to help you.
Case in point: I mistakenly thought I pre-​ordered an expansion through them. When I went in someone had bought the last item. The owner let me buy his saying he would wait for the next shipment to come in. We later discovered that my pre-​order was from another shop. The owner still let me buy his copy of the expansion assuring me that it was okay. This is the kind of commitment that gets you customers for life.
The only time I’ve had to wait was when some store event was going on and people were in line paying their entry fee. That’s perfectly understandable to me.
And that’s only on site. They’re also very good about comments/​questions from their website and on Facebook.
Definitely worth a visit and a like on Facebook if you’re a gamer.

Walked in here in a search for specific miniature paints, and I was immediately wowed by the space. The front part of the store has a few fixtures dedicated to tabletop and RPG games, with miniature games dominating the selection. Once you step past the divider though, you have a wide gaming space furnished by executive desks and hard top round tables, and to the left is the CCG counter, dominated by Magic the Gathering. If you look down the back hall, you can also find a space dedicated to painting, with long banquet tables. I can imagine spending a lot of time here.
Whenever I’ve walked in, the staff has been friendly and inviting. Even when I brought my own board games to play with friends. This is quickly becoming my top choice of game stores in the San Diego area.
