Barworks

We used Barworks for our winery wedding this summer and were very pleased. They did not provide any alcohol, only bartender, stemware and non-​alcoholic beverages. We were very pleased. Carol isn’t always the best at responding, but it was fairly easy to coordinate everything with her via email. Insurance certs etc. We just loved our bartender Nicole the day of. She was very professional, on top of things, personable and had a sense of humor. I would use them again in a heartbeat!

I am happy to say that the staff are very attentive and do their best to handle such large crowds with a smile! Very professional and personal!

I recently used bar works to host my wedding event, I personally would not trust them or use them for such a special occasion ever again. The bartender was rude they were very unprofessional and just seems like they were there to collect the money and leave. I have since then sent them an email explain to them the way the night of events proceeded, all I really wanted was an apology from them and that was pretty much it and I would have been happy. but I didn’t even get a return email or anything just another bill in the mail… I would just like to warn people on your special occasion expescially on a night that you dumped several months and hours of time into and lots of hard earned money into planning to not go with these people, it will just make your night frustrating. And I wasn’t the only one complaining I had several of my guests telling me about how bar works treated them. & I was the groom and I wasn’t expecting any special attention but I was expecting some kind of courtesy from them

As the sole food and beverage professional on the board of my daughter’s high school foundation, I volunteered to research beverage caterers for our annual gala fundraiser. The venue we had utilized in the years previous to this one offered on-​premise food and beverage.
After researching online, I checked the businesses I was considering on Unilocal. After sorting through the reviews — the ones based on actual service, and the ones who seemed to have some personal gripe, evaluating the set-​up costs (or not), the minimum spend, etc., I made the recommendation to hire Barworks.
This turned out to be an excellent decision. From the easy contract process, to the service provided during the F&B committee’s follow-​up requests, to the very professional set-​up and service throughout the gala itself, it could not have been more perfect.
Robert and Robin were consummate professionals, both in appearance and in service. The selection of beverages was completely appropriate to the group. I have no hesitation in recommending Barworks for any social occasion or corporate event. If our foundation continues to utilize venus that do not provide food and beverage, I know that we will hire Barworks again. And the next time I host an event in my home that requires bar services above what we can manage on our own, I would call Barworks first.

I have been using Barworks Catering company for years. I have used their services for corporate events, weddings and special events. They are extremely easy to work with. They have a variety if packages to choose from and of course everything is customizable. The bartenders are professional and friendly. I highly recommend using this company for your next event.

We recently got married and our venue had Barworks as their exclusive alcohol vendor. Aside from my initial conversation with them in which they were helpful and tried to accommodate for our needs/​budget and responded promptly, every other interaction left much to be desired. What I learned about wedding planning is that many vendors talk a big game and make you feel like they are going to work with you and do what you ask, but then you book with them and after that things start to change. Because Barworks was an exclusive vendor and we had no other vendor option, I felt like they didn’t care about helping us or about the quality of their customer service or our satisfaction. Especially given the amount of money that we were spending, you’d think that they would try to help us with the minimal requests that we had, but they did not want to do anything beyond the minimum.
For example, in the beginning we asked them about options of purchasing our own alcohol to serve at the wedding, but they discouraged us because they said we wouldn’t know how to predict what we would need. In the beginning they made it seem like it could be a possibility, when they weren’t at all interested in helping us make it happen. Also, when we went to pick our wines for the event, they just gave us a list of 30 wines, none of which we had tasted and asked us to pick two. There were some highlighted wines on that list that were «reccomendations», but based on our research and conversation with wine-​os at Total Wine and More, none of their recommended wines were recommended to us by the experts at Total Wine. Thank goodness we did our research.
Overall, I really felt like Barworks was just trying to take our money and did not care at all about customer satisfaction. I would not recommend using Barworks if you have a choice. If you don’t have a choice/​are forced into using them by your venue, proceed with caution!

when my company does a party that needs some booze… this is the go to place! Most of the communication was done through email and the response time was good.
Their contract was straight forward and they offer a range of bar services. I decided on an open bar and it turned out great for what we needed. Our server Raelene was very professional while remaining down to earth and friendly. She arrived on time and set up for the event quickly. We even had a few laughs during her time setting up and while providing service… which made for a better event! It was refreshing to see a vendor want to help the planet by recycling and most of what was served wound up back in her bin to take to recycle! Yay for going green. Clean up was quick and painless and you would have never known that a large party had even taken place!
They provide a discount for payment in cash or by check but charge a 3.5% service charge for paying by credit card so be aware. Decent selection of alcohol and non-​alcoholic drinks.

I hired Barworks to handle the alcohol at my wedding. Carol was so sweet, and helpful, and even gave me a discount for the wedding. I couldn’t have asked for a better Bar company. They were very professional, and sweet. Thanks!

In response to the manager’s critique of my review:
Believe with whom you want, but I stand by my earlier review. This company refused to give me the same discount that they offered me less than a year earlier. I had asked for the same discount as last year, but they refused. I definitely understand that business costs «have risen» over time, but I felt that as repeat customers we at least should have gotten the same discount we had a year ago. Just as business costs have risen, so have social budget funding shrunk. If you have plenty of money to spend, unlike my state-​funded budget that I am working with, then by all means, you don’t have to be as very cost-​focused as I am.
I just wanted to say that with Kevin’s Bartending Company in contrast, I really felt that my business was valuable to them. On top of that, they were extremely friendly to my budget, with no less (and I’m arguing, more) value of service.
My philosophy with dealing with vendors (ESPECIALLY with $ 1000s are involved), is that respect for customers is so key. A willingness to work with a client’s budget, kindness and respect for the client. And most importantly, if the client is (unfortunately) dissatisfied with a service, instead of blaming or undervaluing a customer’s experience, truly honoring what the client has experienced in hopes of a better future relationship with said client.
This is in no offense to Barworks Company, I’m merely advocating what I’ve experienced for those in the market for San Diego bartending companies.
On the other hand, I’m glad Barworks is addressing these reviews, in hopes that their company can really offer a great service to those in this market.
In summary: go with a company that respects you! Just from my perspective of my past experiences (plural) with this company.

I hired Barworks for my small wedding, fully hosted bar. Best decision I could have made. Prices were very reasonable and for a small fee, we added specialty drinks – margaritas, mojitos, tequila sunrise, coco loco. They took care of the special event permit we needed, showed up on time, provided great service, and made my guests very happy with delicious drinks.

I hired Barworks for one of my events in June for unlimited alcohol, they decided it was ok to charge me a couple of hundred dollars on top of all the money I had paid them. They charged my account without telling me, causing me to overdraft. I kept calling and no one got to me until a week and a half later. I even emailed and no one responded. Once I finally reached them they said its because they were running out of alcohol. Of course they are going to run out, its unlimited! My guest didnt even touch the wine or the beer they were providing. I think this is so ridiculous! Until this day it is not resolved. I am still waiting for their phone call.
I would not recommend this catering service! & if you do decide to hire them, be aware of the charges they might decide to charge on your account! be careful of which account # to give!!!

Barworks has all the stuff you could ever need to throw a party! (as it pertains to alcohol, of course) The prices are reasonable and the staff is professional and fun!
