I was VERY impressed. Realizing that not too many people write reviews praising a mortuary, but I am going to, in hopes that others will have as pleasant an experience as I did. When my elderly aunt passed, we called Bayview due to the fact that they actually published a price sheet. Other reviewed mortuaries had a problem with the upsell, there was NONE of that at Bayview. The driver arrived promptly, was very polite and sensitive to family and friends who were gathered at her home. A few days later I was in the office making the arrangements. Again, I have to repeat, there was absolutely no upselling. It was just what I wanted, and it made what could have been very unpleasant a lot easier to take. Their communication was great, they did what they said when they said they were going to do. Remember, most neighborhood mortuaries have been bought up by mega corporations. Bayview is local, and local is always better.

As business & privacy policies now go, they are ok. The price was fine. My problem is I had to call them for everything. No one ever called me. Not to tell me there was a delay in the service, not to tell me they closed the Adams Ave location, not to tell me to bring identification when I did pickup my package, not to tell me where they were in a building that did not have their name on the register, not even to tell me their services were completed after 3.75 months. They couldn’t even send a form letter to tell me these things. I’ve experienced better on several ocassions so I feel justified in my comments. This business is cold enough and the lack of communication seems to make it even more cold and uncaring to me.

This place was the best to me and my family when we lost a loved one to cancer. They are very understanding, very patient and extremely reasonable with their prices. Ed who is the owner of bay view makes you feel very comfortable and he had a lot of experience in the business. I will definitely be recommending bay view to anyone who has lost a loved one.

Family owned, no-nonsense, straight shooter with fair and decent prices. This review is not for the faint of heart. In the Hospital/Hospice, I find myself standing next to my deceased loved one. We were too busy trying to keep him alive to start planning a funeral. No idea what to do, never did a funeral or death. The Social Worker/Hospital gave me a list of Mortuaries. I start calling and this is what I get; long drawn out sleazy sales pitches«offering three different packages starting $ 999» type of dribble. Not in the mood if you know what I mean. Ed, a real person answers the phone at 0730 on a Saturday morning. Gives me a straight answer to a very specific and direct question. One answer, one price(about half of the lowest«package» the other places were pushing) with on-time service. If you have to do a death, this won’t add to your grieving. If you want simple, decent, family oriented business, this is it.
