Al Janc is the owner and operator of this business and the beach cottages that he rents out in South Mission Beach.
The properties are well kept beach homes and are original built. They have not been torn down and rebuilt like many units in the area. They have real beach charm if that is something you are looking for.
When people rent beach vacation homes many times they try to lie about how many people will be staying at the property. The business owners often have to turn down potential clients because they can sense a group may be too large or too party or just not the right fit. It’s the nature of the game because the owners must to keep their homes in good condition and respect the neighborhood.
These homes are great for families. Enjoy the beach!

After spending hours online looking for the perfect rental I called to book a place that both their website and their vrbo listing stated slept 4 people. I was told to enter my information online which I did moments later. I them received an email stating I had too many people to stay in the property. I emailed back explaining if was not four adults but 2 adults and children and the website said it accommodated 4. I was told I had too many people and it was their decision. Completely not professional on their part to false advertise on both their website and vrbo. Do not waste your time!

Absolutely HORRENDOUS customer service. I was looking forward to renting one of their stand alone cottages in South Mission beach for my 30^th birthday with a handful of friends. I made the GRIEVIOUS error of requesting 6 in my initial reservation, but when I called Al Janc, I updated the number to 8.
He then decided this must mean I was going to turn the unit into a «party house» with «10,12,15» people staying in the unit. He claimed that because we were local, that obviously must mean we would be bringing all of our friends to the house and would «congest traffic and party.»
When I pointed out that his website stated the unit slept EIGHT, he told me «yes, but not comfortably». When I stated that my friends and I would be the judge of what was comfortable or not, he surmised «Yes, and you will also have no respect for the property.»
After that he said «Sorry.» and hung up!
So in about 5 minutes this man determined that my quiet group of 8 childless 30-​somethings was in fact a rowdy crowd of inconsiderate partiers. PLEASE reconsider before you book with this man or his company!!!
