History
Established in 1984.
in a little shed on Miramar Rd. The first years were spartan with minimal tools and the tools they had were far from optimal. In addition, the work area was sloped & outdoors so working during inclement weather was always a challenge. The store was hard to find and there were some days that they sold more from their snack machine than they did from tires. But the goal was to become one of the best tire dealers in SD.
In 1989, they moved to a more civilized location on Dowdy St. They were able to work indoors and had better equipment. The location had better visibility and could attract even more customers.
1994 marked a move to the current location. Bear’s now has much better access and visibility and can service more customers and do so more quickly. There is a customer lounge for customers to use while waiting for their vehicle. In an effort to constantly increase our level of customer service and customer value, we continually strive to improve our facility and our performance.

Mike P.
Business Owner
Mike is a native San Diegan having graduated from Mira Mesa High and later obtained a BS from San Diego State. He began working at Bear’s Tires in 1987 installing tires and eventually purchased the business in 1994 and has never looked back.
He has continually improved and expanded the business at the current location and has big plans for the future. Mike is proud to own one of the premier tire dealers in all of San Diego as demonstrated by being the top selling independent Falken dealer in San DIego.
Mike is very active in the community and tries to give back to San Diego whenever possible.
