It’s pretty smart to have caffe calabria at this location… I was here for a couple of days and I’m one of those all day coffee drinkers so it would have been nice to have access throughout the night. But, I think they shut down pretty early. You’re next to a 24 hour emergency room, take advantage. Anyway, I had the mexican mocha. It was good. No comparison to my usual mexi-mocha spot, but good. And they also have a pretty decent selection of carbs in pastry form. Not a terrible place, I suppose it beats hospital cafeteria food.

Just don’t understand how in this day and age, a business does not take cards. Just dumb. The girl behind the counter(bangs and glasses) was super rude… «there’s an ATM down there… uhh.» The world is moving to electronic payment through cell phones and smart watches and you are stuck in 1974. Good thing your the only place around huh?

Imagine getting an early morning call letting you know that your mom has been hit by a car and is in the emergency room. You rush to the hospital knowing it’s going to be a long, stressful day. Thankfully, you see a café Calabria coffee cart. Head straight there to get hydrated fed for the day. Staff behind the counter is cold, rude and has no business sense. When asked why she doesn’t accept cards(like any sane business) the woman’s answer is drenched in sarcasm and basically comes down to the fact that she doesn’t trust her staff. Coffee tasted like crap. No one wants to be in or go to the emergency room… tact, friendliness, a smile and a decent drink would go a long way to make the experience better for the customer. That is if you care for the customer at all and not just the cash.

Ok coffee cart located in front of the hospital. I like that they have mini Danish pastries. Drinks are ok, nothing spectacular. Service is decent. Open early but not very late.

While it’s not the same as the store front, I will visit the hospital 6 blocks from my home for no other reason than to order a café viennese. I will actually tow along, two children in the jogging stroller(though I don’t jog) and our rambunctious rascal of a dog on the pretense of a walk, just to get a cup of their joe. I do wish they took cards, but I’ve never been bothered by the service. Although at this favorite of all pit-stops I’m often too busy refilling snacks, wiping noses and ensuring the dog doesn’t poop at the picnic tables to be anything but thrilled when that honey-cinamon latte is finally mine.

Love their caffe mexicano– espresso, steamed chocolate milk, nutmeg, cinnamon & sugar. $ 3.90 for a grande.

Not bad not fantastic either. I do love the hot coco there. They whip cream it up the way this fat kid likes it. The coffee is just ok. I love getting a cup and the first drink has me closing my eyes and appreciating all its creamy goodness. This place not so much. But hey it is convenient where it is. OH and the hot coco is pretty legit. Cash only and the staff always is super sweet. I wouldn’t be when it is cold as hell early in the morning. The cookies there are pretty good too. If you need a good hot coco fix and are in the area stop here!

I was at the hospital with a family member. I went out for what I expected was going to be crappy coffee… and found calabria! this brightened up my day immensely. Same coffees, but not as artsy of a service… everything is to go since it’s a cart. I’m pretty sure they don’t put as much tender care as the main Calabria location. And I think it’s a hospital thing, but they always stick straws into their cups– through the sipping hole of the cover. Very strange. Anyways, although it was and still is a relief at the hospital… the weirdness of it puts me off.

Show up for an ER visit on Black Friday 5ish. The guy was quite arrogant… almost like he was too good to talk with me. He made a pretty good drink — but you know, I could get a pretty good drink at 7 – 11 too, at half the cost. I guess maybe I was expecting friendly, caring customer service(seeing as how I was at the ER with Dad, a friendly face would have been nice). Next time I will just go to the gas station and save a few bucks.

I have visited Kaiser hospital several times over the last year, in the last few months I have been there every other week. This review is for the coffee cart in from of Kaiser called Caffe Calabria. Let me start by saying that cold Café Lattes are never good. No really, they are not good. In the case of this coffee cart they taste bad and are cold. Today I decided to go to the cart de hades and get clever, I decided to ask for my beverage«hot». Now mind you I expect my coffee to be hot but at this point my expectations were low and I was freezing in my Mom’s hospital room so was desperate to get some java to warm my bones. Walked up and the employees are all grousing about the boss, «he is just one of those people that likes to make people unhappy» my pierced, tattooed and coffee preparing challenged lad is heard to say.(*mutters to self, perhaps the boss is frustrated that he hired this person to make coffee and has realized that the lad is unable to rise to the challenge set before him*). So, I ask for a grande latte and asked for the latte to be hot. After a long wait(no other customers in sight, long sighs, drama, discontent, whining) I get my beverage. Walking away with relief after the ordeal and take a sip. OMFG. tastebuds and roof of my mouth burning… call the trauma unit and the burn ward… Freeking hell. ISTHERENOCHOICEBETWEENBODYTEMPERATUREANDBOILING? Several hours later I peeled the layer of skin off the roof of my mouth. You have been warned,
