Calbi Taco & Burritos

It was fair to okay. I had the Spicy Pork Burrito, which was very messy to eat. Savory, but drippy, it tasted neither Korean nor Mexican, kind of confused from a flavor standpoint. The service was friendly, and certainly this truck was a bit more ‘exotic’ than some of the bland, overpriced trucks which were competing for the mostly gringo customers. I guess I would consider going back, but I would much rather eat something a little more real, whether it’s Korean or Mexican.

Since the Kogi truck is exclusively up in LA, and doesn’t make its rounds in San Diego; Calbi is the next best thing for bulgogi tacos.
I tried out their food at the food truck gathering at Mira Mesa High School that happens every Monday night. You could pick from Beef, Chicken, Pork, Tofu or Vegetarian, two tacos for $ 7 or the taco trio for $ 10.50; for Shrimp add $ 0.50. I got the The beef is nicely seasoned, very flavorful, not tough at all, and of course tossed in that yummy, traditional bulgogi sauce. However I would prefer two corn tortillas holding my taco together instead of one, it’s hard to eat while the taco is in the midst of breaking.
The service was quick and efficient; I got my food promptly, and the people are really nice. I’ve only tried their tacos, and so far I’m impressed! But I still need to try out the other goodies that Calbi has to offer, I can’t wait to try more!

Great service and great food. They showed up at our company rally and I really liked their food. Great flavors. I would buy from them again.

Pork taco was good, quesadilla was mediocre, prices were high for the amount of food. The menu lists cheese on the tacos but mine did not have any. The taco duo is not enough food for a meal.
The service was matter-​of-​fact, not bad but not very friendly.
Overall my experience was less than average. Your mileage may vary.

OMG i love this food truck. A little different type of Mexican food but i love it. There guacamole has ginger in it and it’s fantastic.

I will without a doubt eat here again. I love the tofu vegetarian tacos! I was not a fan of the guacamole but tacos bueno :)

They came around the neighborhood and parked at the condo complex next to ours and the delicious aroma over took my path in which I was walking my dog! As soon as my wife came home from work, we mad ea quick dash over to the truck to see what they had to offer. We ordered 6 tacos, 2 steak, 2 chicken and 2 shrimp. The taste of each kind was fantastic and unique in their own way, so I don’t know if they use the same marinades for each of the meats.
Remember to check-​in and take advantage of getting a free side of guacamole with a (sweet mango sauce on top) or at least that’s what I think it was.
They would have earned a 5^th star if my food was hot to order and not just warm.
